This paper relates to the literature’s most famous veteran, the Odysseus’s return back to his homeland, Ithaca after 10 years of fighting with Troy and then another ten years struggling to get back home, which is compared to the current day event of Veterans coming back to their home after serving the U.S. Army or the Navy. In particular, this paper explores about the heartbreaking hardships that the veterans have to face after serving into the wars that United States has entered in the recent history which most people fails to understand, which was shared by the hero of the poem, The Odysseus. This paper talking about, how the feeling of discontinuity is being shared by the veterans as well as by Odysseus, who inauspiciously returned home after 2800 years from the present history.

Odysseus returned to Ithaca after twenty years of struggle and fighting the monsters, he travelled through the foreign lands and served all the hardships during his journey.
