On January 20th, as Donald Trump uttered the words, "So help me, God," he became the 45th President of the United States. Having defeated Hillary Clinton two months earlier, he took office in a much divided nation. He had many large promises to live up to, as well as several issues that would become thorns in his side. Two months into his presidency, his approval poll has sunk down to 36 percent. How has he fared as the US President? We will take a look at that right now:
Seven days after taking office, President Trump signed the Immigration Order, more commonly known as his first travel ban. This ban denied allowing citizens from seven countries (Iraq, Iran, Somalia, Libya, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen) into the United States. It also

Earlier in his presidency, the stock market had been soaring.
Trump has been dogged with questions about Russian interference in the US election. Though it has been proven for months that Russia had meddled in the election to help Trump win, Trump has denied it. He has lashed out against the news media that speaks about this, calling it "fake news". On February 13th, Michael T. Flynn, Trump 's National Security Adviser, was forced to resign after misleading high profile officials about his communication with Russian diplomats. House Intelligence has launched an investigation into Russia 's involvement in the elections, all while Trump continues to deny.
In foreign policy, Trump is serving during the War against ISIS. Trump promised to destroy ISIS during his campaign, and currently, the United States has launched offensives against ISIS in Mosul, Iraq, and is preparing for an assault against Raqqa, Syria. ISIS has drastically weakened in the last two years, but remains strong and active. Trump, during his presidency, has spoken about a secret plan to defeat ISIS several times, but has not told anyone what that plan actually is. While ISIS remains a huge threat, the largest threat to national security remains North Korea. North Korea has tested nuclear weapons several times, threatening to "use its nuclear sword" against the United States. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has said that all options
In attempts to protect the United States from foreign terrorists, President Trump has banned seven different countries from any access into the country for ninety days. The seven countries included in the Travel Ban are Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen (Jackson). As for Syria, Trump has placed a ban that has an undetermined length of time. Another aspect of the ban is, “The order also introduces a cap of 50,000 refugees to be accepted in 2017, against a limit of 110,000 set by former President Barack Obama” (BBC). This order not only drastically affects the amount of immigrants entering the country, but also the number of refugees.
According to the old immigration ban, the U.S temporarily applied the entry ban to the citizens coming from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. As soon as issued, the old decree resulted in great disorder at the US’s airports when a large number of people prevented from entry.
Now, Trump has seen the threat of terrorists coming into America under the guise of immigrants looking for work or refugees looking for safety and has decided that, unfortunately, we would have to close of immigration and refuse refugees from the 7 countries that the Obama administration deemed as being connected to terrorism. The ban will last only for 90 days, as the vetting process is refined to keep out threats to the safety of American citizens.
Donald J. Trump does not deserve to be given a chance. Those who disagree may say that it is not reasonable to write off our president after he has not even spent one year in office. However, within just a few weeks Trump had already created two constitutional crises for his own benefit, and one of them was harmful towards minorities that he considered to be “terrorists.”
On January 27, 2017, Trump passed a law banning immigrants and citizens from seven countries. The countries include Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen, nations composed of a Muslim majority. Many people believe Trump’s Muslim country ban was not sufficient in performing its rightful task of keeping terrorists out of the country. Trump’s ban was not necessary due to the problem the situation causes, such as its sudden implication, deterioration of presidential image, and overall effectiveness of the ban.
Each country has their own border policy when it come to undocumented immigrants. On January 25, 2017, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to begin an "impassable physical barrier" between the United States and Mexico (Warner). He took advantage of the power of his position and bans the idea of traveling for tourists from 7 other countries as well, not only illegal immigrants. These countries include Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. Not letting those who are from those countries to travel to the United States as well as having national security stop them from getting through the airport is violating The Equal Protection Law(Brettschneider). Trump favors certain countries and religions over one another because
In June of 2016, Donald Trump Jr. expressed interest in meeting someone described as a Russian government lawyer who had damaging information about Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. This contradicts what members of the Trump presidential campaign have been saying for months, which is they never sought or received help from Russia to defeat Clinton. The denials and subsequent disclosure of the emails from Trump Jr. are only escalating the controversy surrounding President Trump’s administration.
On January 2017 the new president of the United States Donald Trump signed the order to ban immigrants, travelers, and even green card holders who were born in one of the following seven Middle Eastern countries: Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen, specifically Muslims and Syrians. According to what President Trump was saying, this order is made for the safety of the country, and to limit what is called the “Foreign Terrorism” inside the United States. People who agree with this law believe that banning believers of a specific faith and refugees entering the United State will make them safer. The law states that these seven countries’ citizens are not allowed to enter the United States for 90 days, starting from the day
On his seventh day of office, president Donald Trump signed an executive order that bans seven countries that are predominantly Muslims entry into the U.S.; some are temporary while Syria is the only one that is indefinite. Even during his campaign for the presidency, Trump made several promises on banning all Muslims so he could make the refugee laws stronger and the nation more secure. This order is based on seven countries that do not have any refugees linked with terrorism-related offenses that occurred on U.S. soil. America is a nation that holds ideals that every human being possess basic human rights. The United States is a nation built on those ideals and this executive order is in contrary to it. Donald Trump’s executive order against

Families torn apart, sons, daughters, moms and dads are being deported back to their countries. Why you may ask? Trump’s new executive order on immigration. When it comes to President Donald Trump many peoples mind is not far from his thoughts on the word “illegal immigrant”. An illegal alien also called “illegal immigrant” or “undocumented immigrant” refers to someone foreign born and noncitizen to the country they reside in. It is “the migration of people across national borders in a way that violated the immigration laws of the destined country.” (Center for Media and Democracy, 2008) Many people have asked in Trump’s immigration order is legal? Or if he abusing his presidential powers when it comes to the matter of immigration statues. Not long after Donald Trump first came into office back in his inauguration in January 20, 2017 he issued an executive order which blocked the entry of refugees and aliens from seven different Muslim countries. The order was briefly drawn while more other important matters were being made. It is to be known that the administration did not take these 7 countries from the anti-Muslimism imagination but were based on a statue signed by past president Barack Obama. These countries were: Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Libya, Somalia, and Sudan. President Barack Obama signed the enact because these countries were thought to be anti-American and seen unfriendly to the U.S. Because of this James Robart had issued a
