Hogwarts School was founded by two witches and two wizards : Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, Godric Gryffindor and Salazar Slytherin. Each of them illustrated a bearing of personality that they wanted to bring out in new students. Slytherin, shortly after founding the school had a fall out with the other founders about blood purity, and wanted only the pure blood students to take admission. Slytherin left the school but not before secretly building the Chambers Of

Harry learns of his past and his future as a wizard from Hagrid, the keeper of keys and grounds at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Rowling weaves a web of impeccable storytelling with this critically acclaimed novel. In the tale of Harry Potter imagery, symbolism, and motif take central focus.
His aunt and uncle utterly despise him and everything he stands for because Harry reminds them of Harry’s parents. Harry receives a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and discovers that he is a wizard, and that his parents were not killed in a car crash, but by an evil wizard named Lord Voldemort. Harry gets his school supplies from Diagon Alley, a wizarding shopping center, and meets one of his new professors, Professor Quirrell, there. Professor Quirrell is a rather pathetic man who speaks with a stutter and is terrified at the thought of anything vaguely harmful. Harry goes to Hogwarts and gets caught up in many different misadventures.
corrupt wizard, Lord Voldemort. Harry finds out that he has been accepted into a school,
The wildly popular Harry Potter books might be casting a spell over adults and children who just can't seem to get enough of the young wizard-in-training, but some schools and parents aren't quite so enchanted.
At the age of eight, Harry would begin attending a public school within Independence. Notably, it appears that his mother sent him five weeks late during his first year. Despite this, his teacher,

Weasley gives Ron his dress robes before the start of school, but as Mrs. Weasley is omitted from this movie, Ron gets his dress robes by post and Errol delivers them to him while in the Great Hall. Colin and Dennis Creevey are omitted from the movie. In the book, when they first arrive at school Peeves is throwing water balloons at the students as they are gathered in the hall, and they see the sorting ceremony for the new first years, but this is omitted from the movie. In the book, the Sorting Hat sings a new song about the history of Hogwarts and the Founders which is not shown in the movie. The arrival of the Durmstrang and Beauxbatons schools occurs on 30th of October and not on the 1st of September as in the movie. Padma Patil is in Ravenclaw and not in Gryffindor. Malfoy as a ferret scene is very extended in the movie. In the movie, Moody demonstrates the three Unforgivable Curses on a single spider, ultimately killing it. In the book, he uses a different spider for each one, and later is also shown using the Imperius Curse on students in order to teach them how to overcome its effects. Madame Maxime is said to be the same height as Hagrid, while in the movie she’s noticeable taller. The movie implies that Durmstrang is an all-boy school and Beauxbatons all-girl, the book however, portraits both school as mixed gender schools, as a boy is shown in Beauxbatons and a girl is shown in Durmstrang. Neither school does any presentation when they arrive. Fleur Delacour as a part-Veela is omitted. Probably because the Veela and all the explanations given about them at the World Cup are also not present. Also, the Beauxbatons pupils are rather unhappy about being at Hogwarts. Fred and George are not the only students to try to find a way around the age line on the Goblet of Fire. When Harry’s name comes out of the Goblet of Fire, Dumbledore remains very calm, he asks Harry if he did it, to which Harry replies “no”. Draco and his fellow Slytherins

The sorting is done on an old wooden stool, facing their student body with a professor holding a hat. The hat is an important part in the sorting ceremony, because the hat is the Sorting Hat. Once upon a child’s head the sorting hat beings to assess personality traits of each student, once done the hat then sends the child off to one of the great four houses of Hogwarts. Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or lastly Slytherin.

They develop friendships with members of their own house and rivalries with members of opposing houses. Upon being assigned to a house, each student strives to follow the standard and expectations of their particular group, whether it is the "brave" Gryffindors, the "loyal" Hufflepuffs, the "wise" Ravenclaws, or the "cunning" Slytherines. Their house becomes almost like a cult in which they live by: "Your house will be something like your family within Hogwarts. You will have classes with the rest of your house, sleep in your house dormitory and spend free time in your house common-room" (85). Each of the students share the common goal of winning the House Cup for their house. Individualism, therefore, is constrained and each student is forced to act in a particular way in which they are expected to. Aside from the Sorting Hat, other forces of fate also take part in determining the students' house associations. For example, Harry is sorted into Gryffindor, the same house his parents belonged to. Similarly every member in the Weasley family had been a Gryffindor, while every member in the Malfoy family had been a Slytherine. This reinforces the idea that the events in each character's life are predestined. They did not have a choice over their placement in the houses, but rather, they are assigned to a particular house based on forces beyond their control.
