There is a stating that the mistake is the mother of success. Could people only make discovery or progress through mistakes? I am afraid that I do not quite agree with such an assertion. While in my perspective, mistakes are not necessary to make discover or progress, although in most circumstances it is more efficient to discover new things or to progress through mistakes.
Admittedly, mistakes could help us make progress because it is the mistake that tell us what is wrong and hence make improvement or progress. For example, many students might have the same feeling that we learn new things through the mistakes we made in our homework, and this is one of the reason that teacher ask us to do home exercises. By carefully analyzing the

However, it is not so absolutely that without mistakes no discover or progress could be made. One convincing example is in the field of mathematics Any progress or discovery in mathematics is just the result of trying to solve the same
In Roger Von Oech’s “To Err Is Wrong”, he argues that being wrong is not necessarily a wrong thing and that having errors may lead to success. He explains that many see “success and failure as opposites”(2), however Oech states that “they are actually both products of the same process”(2). As he focuses in success and failure, he supports the idea that if someone makes errors, it gives them the opportunity to explore more ideas and improve their results. Oech also suggests that people are used to the idea that failing is bad and many prefer not to risk making any mistakes or failing and that they just take the easy way out. He also brings up the idea that succeeding and failing are a part of daily life because everyone tries not to make any
Do mistakes lead to new discoveries? I believe yes! Sometimes they don't lead to new discoveries but most the time they do. Think about when you were in middle school or something, you got a question wrong on a test, you can now understand how to do it if you do corrections, you learned or discovered how to solve it correctly instead of getting it wrong every time.
Sometimes mistakes can lead to great discoveries. An explorer can be searching for a waterfall and then trip and fall into a hidden cave. The possibilities are endless when it comes to this topic. Like in “Lost Cities, Lost Treasure”, “How a Melted Bar of Chocolate Changed Our Kitchens”, and “In Praise of Careful Science”. These things can change people's lives in good and bad ways.
The one real mistake I believe we can make in life is to not learn from missteps
It is always good to learn from your mistakes. Sometimes mistakes can be considered good things because it lets a person change how they do something and that there could be many ways for doing one task.
Mistake; to make a wrong judgment, an action or decision that is wrong or produces a result that is not correct or not intended. When we were young our parents always told us, “it takes a big person to admit their mistakes”. Contrary to this popular statement, what if you never actually made a mistake in the first place and fate was at fault for your failure? In his novel “The Outliers”, Gladwell claims that “if you work hard enough and assert yourself, and use your mind and imagination, you can shape the world to your desires” (Gladwell 151). However, I disagree with this statement because success is rare and no matter how hard you work, you may never change the world around you. No matter how hard you work, there will be people that drag you down, circumstances you face, obstacles that stand in your way, and a world that will refuse to change for you.
Though it’s not always true that we know more things from failing, but it tells us that if we fail then to not give up. If you failed at a math problem, you may choose to do it a different way and try to figure it out that way. A space physicist once said, “Science is a self-correcting process.” So if you work in the science industry, then you tend to make some mistakes here and there, but these mistakes could lead you to finding a new species of animal or finding a cure for a serious
The possibility of human error didn't leave my thoughts. How could it? I considered human error by degree. Someone gives me the wrong change in a store. Easily fixed. A tailor alters a much-loved dress and it's too tight. Not so easily fixed, but I could recover. A deadly dose of chemotherapy. No fix there”
A lot of people think that mistakes are mistakes and they aren’t helpful but everyone has their own opinion. Now let’s talk about some other mistakes that led to great and helpful discoveries and inventions besides what happened in the passage “How a Melted Bar of Chocolate Changed Our kitchen”.
The benefit of recognising and learning from mistakes is that it can increase relationships with colleagues as they will see that you are willing to take responsibility for the mistakes you make and that you are willing to improve not to make the same mistake again. It is important to realise a mistake so that you can find ways to not make the same error. We don’t want to become discouraged if we do something wrong, so it is important that when we do make mistakes, we just take it as an experience of what not to do next time. The best way to learn from a mistake is to ask others and see how others’ dealt with similar problems.
The consequences of a discovery shape the thinking of individuals and the society around them in many ways such as spiritually, physically and mentally. Through discoveries, new understandings are expanded which shape the characters thinking and action. Great thesis Life of Pi exemplifies this in many ways as Pi’s actions have a reaction on nature which consequently shapes his understanding on many aspects of life. Pi’s discovery on religion and faith enlarges his understanding on the real world, also furthering his spiritual relationship with God. ‘The Kite Runner’ by Khaled Hosseini exemplifies
Everyone, at some point in their life, has made a mistake. Sometimes we get lucky and only falter a little, making it through the problem relatively intact. Other times, we mess up a lot and have to fix what was damaged over a long period of time. However, the same is true for most, if not all cases—those who make the mistake learn from it. Often times, our failures teach us valuable lessons that we only gained because of the experience we gathered after messing up. I have personally achieved a wealth of knowledge and experience just from all of my own little mishaps, and a few major ones.
What might me a mistake to someone might be right for another person. But, mistakes do help a person distinguish between right and wrong. A mistake informs a person of what is accepted by the society. Mistakes are said to be the best teacher. When a person goes wrong while doing something, it stays in his mind forever. He doesn’t easily forget it and avoids repeating such mistakes. Mistakes are also indicators of risk involved. They inform us about what can possibly go wrong if a certain plan is carried out. They are similar to test points which check whether a particular procedure or step suits the task or the outcome that is
Humanity’s interest in unknown world has been universal and enduring. Accompany with human development, discovery the unknown world has become more and more important to human life. Some people think discovery is a good thing. They will tell you how X-ray used by medical professionals to help diagnose and treat a wide range of medical problems. They will also tell you what a mass your life will be if Benjamin Franklin did not discovered electricity. But other argue people think discovery bring disaster to human. They will tell you if Martin Heinrich Klaproth did not discover uranium, maybe atomic bomb would not been invented. Although the question about whether discovery always a good thing has so many
