During an open campus lunch break student can either go home to get food, go to a restaurant or a fast food place. Open campus lunch is a good idea for students in high school in grades 10 through 12 and the occasionally students in 9th grade because, it would save schools money by not having to make much food, kids could have better food, it gives the students some free time, and it gives them a chance to have more responsibility and independence. It would also give students a little bit of freedom and a break from their classes. It is a privilege to be able to go off campus for lunch. If students are not back in class after the given amount of time or in their next class, punish them. School lunches

Students could leave campus, get food, and be back for time given from the school. If students could leave campus to get either a restaurant, get food at home or a fast food restaurant the food would be so much better than the schools food. Students could go to a small restaurant tor a diner. Students could go home and make their selves food. They could go to fast foods restaurants around the area such as McDonald’s, Hardee’s, or Subway. As long as students are back within the amount of time given students should be able to leave campus to get food. School lunches are not healthy for students most of the time. You do not know what the food they are serving you is half the time. If students were allowed to leave school for lunch it would give them a little bit of freedom for an hour. Many students also get bored sitting in classes for so long leaving for lunch give them the chance to move around and get out of
It’s easy to understand why some of the parents and faculty members of the students at Oak Creek High would not agree with an open-campus lunch. They may believe that the student body is not ready or capable for handling the privileges of an open-campus lunch program. Yes, there’s the risk of students skipping out of school for the rest of the day with no return, if they have the privilege to leave campus for lunch. Also, some students may abuse the privileges of an open-campus lunch and skip out even if they don’t have a pass ID or parental consent. When those students deciding to skip without a pass get stopped and questioned by a school resource officer, they may get a loitering ticket depending on where they go when they skip, as well as a truancy
One rule that i strongly should change is the thought of open campus lunch. Over the years, schools with open campus lunch have converted over to closed campus lunches. Meaning the students are to stay on school ground and can not leave during said lunch period, as to where with open campus lunch students are able to leave the school to get food. Schools have changed this due to saftey reasons and complications with students not returning to the school.
Have you every felt left out that you couldn't go off campus lunch like other schools do? Is one of the reasons you can't go off campus because of your grade? Did you ever feel like you never had the chance to off campus. Students should be allowed to go off campus. Student should be allowed to go off campus to build confidence and bring their self esteem level come up. Student would learn responsibility with time management with not just lunch but school work. Lastly, students would have a more majority of food.
The importance of students being able to leave the school campus for their lunch hour is a great tool for them to learn the importance of returning to campus on time shows and also teaches responsibility on the student's behalf.
One of the main reasons to have an open campus during lunch is because as said in the intro most of the students don’t even like the lunch
There are students that don’t eat lunch because they don’t like what is provided. If the students are back by the time the next class starts students should be able to leave. The school should give students a chance to prove they can be trusted. Schools should give them a specific amount of chances and if they ruin those chances they shouldn’t be able to leave anymore, but they don’t even give them a chance.
Wandering kids. Bumper to bumper traffic. Drug dealing. Is this the picture drawn when local students have fifty minutes of freedom during lunch to do whatever they please? Students should not be allowed to leave their school campus during lunch. An open campus would lead to truancy, disturb local businesses and neighborhoods, and cause crime.
Here at Hebron we have more than 2000 students on the main campus and our campus is far too small to accommodate that many students at once for lunch. We have very few lunch lines and all the lines are always packed full of people. And a solution to this would be to simply allow students to go off campus for lunch, with restrictions however of course. I believe that only Juniors and Seniors with a car should be allowed to go off campus for lunch. As most sophomores are fairly new drivers and including them would be too much traffic to handle in the parking lots. With the the addition of off campus lunch you would solve a multitude of problems at once and make things easier for you and the school staff.
For many previous years, Anaheim High school has had a couple lunch system changes finally settling on two lunches, both being half an hour long. With both lunches only being half an hour long, for certain, more than one thousand students being in each, imagine the lunch lines! Making line to get your lunch takes already about fifteen minutes, half of a person’s time already, which leaves little time for a student to enjoy their so called meal and free time with friends.Based on other student’s experiences dealing with school lunch, one can rightfully assume that high schoolers would much rather hold in their hunger until after school rather than have the food being provided. There is not a single day that goes by in which a high schooler does not complain about the “worst than jail” food being served to them. This proposal will go into detail about why having an hour off-campus lunch can increase healthier eating habits between the undergraduates of Anahiem High School. In this layout, you will read about the issue of why we believe off- campus lunch would be a healthier choice for Anaheim High school students, you will also encounter our plan of how we intend to carry out this idea, what exactly needs to be done, with the help of who, and so on.
High school students in the public school system would benefit greatly if given open campus lunch options. High school administrators across the United States debate the ethics of open campus lunches. School lunch policies vary from school to school in the public school system. Having an open campus lunch gives students a variety of options for foods to eat. An open lunch policy helps high schoolers prepare for adulthood, as well as improving their general physical health.
An open campus lunch program is when, during the lunch period, students are permitted to leave campus and get lunch from local businesses or even home. At Urbana High School we currently have four lunch shifts, during which students pack or buy lunches. I believe Frederick County Public Schools should start an open campus lunch program for seniors because the school lunches are not healthy enough or appealing and do not have enough lunch options. The benefits that could come from this program go beyond the happiness of the seniors, they will reach the classrooms, staff members, and community.
Schools that do allow open campus lunches have happy students, many students love the idea of getting what they would want to eat and where. Schools should allow open campus lunches for lunch. It would have more choices for lunch, Many students would love not eating school lunches, It would offer an opportunity to run home and eat and get something that you forgot for a class.
HELP! I'm dying!... because school lunches are cringing! Students should be allowed to leave class during lunch hours, and be trusted to leave and return back in time for their next class. If high schools gave students this right it would teach them how to manage their time wisely and it would help them become responsible. Students who leave campus during lunch are most likely end up going to a local business to get their lunch which is both good for the students and the local businesses. Students with special food allergies could leave campus during lunch and go to their homes and get food they could actually eat and not be worried that their food could have been cross contaminated to something they're allergic to. Students who leave campus during lunch would come back energized and ready for their next classes.
In schools around Negaunee and around the world there are open campus for lunch. This gives students more option and healthier options for food besides the school lunch or a cold bag lunch. This also shows student that they have to have the ability to manage time. This also give kids time to break up the day and relax.
The process to achieve open campus lunch benefits would involve security attendance, extension of lunch periods and student records. The students will have to go through a process to be able to continue the privilege of having open campus lunch throughout the year. The researcher will conduct a proposal to meet and talk with the Board of Education on behalf of student rights and lunch reform policy for the need of student involvement. The meeting is to consider if off campus lunch would be eligible to community high schools for productive upper class students. (Open campus, mountainvistaonline.org). Therefore, students could have a complete understanding of conduct regarding the educational rules and regulations that applies with an open campus policy. For instance, an explanation of proper designated times for lunch and departure from school grounds. An example would be the consequences of violation of policy from a student’s actions. Consequences would include a student receiving a disciplinary referral, suspension or expulsion depending on how severe the offense is.
