LIMITATIONS OF A COMMUNITY GARDEN I should probably mention here that there is two types of community gardens. An organic community garden( no chemicals used whatsoever) An non organic community garden( chemicals may be present in fertilisers) The initial challenge would be to find an area of land to begin with. Since most of the time the land is public property there is always a certain group of citizens who don't want a community garden but a park (regardless of the fact that a park costs more to maintain than a community garden). The second challenge would be the cost of seeds(which vary in season), tools(specific tools for specific jobs) and resources( wood for raised garden beds and water to sustain the plants) Finding motivated and dedicated …show more content…

For example a typical attitude would be “ I don't even like greens, why should I help out?”. The irony in this particular scenario is that even spending time outdoors is a benefit. In a global perspective having a community garden in every city is a inspiration to motivate people into caring for the environment since it is a brilliant opportunity to beautify the environment and provide local produce. As well as having an impact on one’s physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, In some cultures tending a garden is considered a spiritual element. ‘In gardening, as with everything in life, there are actions and consequences. For instance, let’s say you are too busy to water your garden for a few days—as a result, your plants would suffer. Or if you place an herb that thrives on low sunlight intensity in an open field, you may get less of a harvest or even kill it. These are simple understandings that come along with attention and awareness of your garden.’(The 7 Spiritual Laws of Gardening. 2016).
