Therefore the aims of this investigation were to evaluate smile esthetics before and after Non-extraction Orthodontic treatment and comparison of changes in various smile parameters following treatment with untreated control group. In this article orthodontic treatment refers to basically the non-extraction modality of
Before the treatment starts, an imprint of a patient’s mouth is done and then scanned into a system used to form the Invisalign aligners. After the impression of an individual’s mouth is scanned, an orthodontist analyzes the mouth. The orthodontist then decides the movement of teeth needed to achieve the desired aesthetic results. When the orthodontist figures out the “path” of the teeth, he or she makes aligners to achieve the desired end result. Once the aligners are created, they are sent to the patient. The patient then can begin the treatment. After the explanation of Invisalign aligners, Joffe goes on to point out the negatives and positives Invisalign brings about. Some of the negatives include lack of control of the treatment and limited corrections available, while some of the positives include the desired appearance of an orthodontic treatment and the ability for a user to retain good oral care at ease. Invisalign is a unique system that has pros and

To some orthodontistry is just an ordinary cosmetic change, but for me it’s both a learning experience and a life changer. Getting braces has certainly benefitted my life. My new smile created from the works of orthodontistry has allowed me to gain confidence with my smile. Before I stepped foot inside Thacker Orthodontics, I used to be self-conscious about my own smile that I would try to hide it while photos were taken. Nevertheless, when I started the process with braces, it was astonishing observing the slow but subtle changes of my teeth. Watching this process uphand enabled me to learn about the impact a smile possesses. When my braces were removed and I saw the results I couldn’t help but smile.
Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry that deals with the treatment of misaligned jaws and teeth. They use pressure to move your teeth and arches into the proper position. Although Orthodontics may seem like a modern practice there is actually evidence of it dating back thousands of years; with orthodontic type bands showing up on mummies from ancient Egypt. In this paper we’ll go over several different topics including, but not limited to how much schooling is needed, how much money they make, do they have continuing education and if they have any specialized assistants. For this paper, I talked to a licensed Orthodontist, Dr. Sutter, for a first-hand account of what the specialty is like and involves.

My interest to become an orthodontist developed as I was an undergraduate. My crowded teeth had been perplexing me ever since I was a teenager; it was not until I was 22 that I had the opportunity to seek orthodontic treatment. When I met Dr. Al-Kharsa, I was impressed by how caring and concerned he was with each of my problems and insecurities. He explained the course of treatment in detail, its cost, and the difference it would make on my teeth. He failed to mention the positive impact it would make on my life. With only minor discomfort, I saw and felt my teeth align within months; I could clean them easier. The whole shape of my mouth and smile changed; the results were so dramatic that everyone noticed. This hugely improved my self-esteem.

WookHeo, Dong-SeokNahm, and Seung-HakBaek (2007)32performed study to compare the amount of anchorage loss of the maxillary posterior teeth and amountof retraction of the maxillary anterior teeth between en masse retraction and two-step retraction of the anterior teeth.30 female adult patients with Class I malocclusion and lip protrusion were included in the study. The sample was subdivided into group 1 (en masse retraction) and group 2 (two-step retraction). Lateral cephalograms were taken before (T1) and after treatment (T2). Nine skeletal and 10 anchorage variables were measured, and independent t-test was used for statistical analysis. The amount of horizontal retraction of the maxillary anterior teeth was not different between the two groups, there was mild labial movement of the root apices of the upper incisors in group 2 at T2. No significant difference in the degree of anchorage loss of the maxillary posterior teeth was observed between the two groups. Bodily and mesial movements of the upper molars occurred in both groups. A 4 mm of the retraction of the upper incisal edges resulted from 1 mm of anchorage loss in the upper molars in both groups.

Practicing dentists and orthodontists must take into account the performance of each method, treatment retention, and treatment time period when determining which treatment method is ideal for their patients. Though research has been conducted along with observations, there is a widespread discrepancy in collected data supporting each treatment method in favor of another. Research from Djeu, Shelton and Maganzini (2004) found that overall prost retention rates of traditional braces had a higher passing rate than that of the invisalign group as observed using the American Board of Orthodontics model. Conversely, research from Li, Wang and Zhang (2015) found that there was no statistical differences between invisalign and braces results, when observing that both methods received passing grades based on the ABO model. An understanding for the need of further research to draw a solid conclusion on the overall more effective treatment method is
