They will need to show tact and sensitivity when sharing difficult news with the patient. This will also help in dealing with patients when the patient thinks they know what is wrong themselves.
Orthopaedic surgeons are required to be flexible when dealing with patients before, during and after surgery. This may include something not going to plan during surgery, then the surgeon being flexible and changing his plans. After a surgery a patient may require more or less time for treatment or require different treatment for some reason.

This will require the student to have completed high school and their university GPA. Getting into medicine this way is incredibly hard as not many universities do this. The last significant way of entry into medicine is by taking the GAMSAT test. This way of entry requires the student’s GPA and an interview.

Summary of Findings.
Throughout my internet research I have found that there are numerous characteristics which surgeons should have. These characteristics include being tactful, sensitive, flexibility, calmness and being dedicated to both their job and their patients, also having excellent hand eye coordination. Having the strength to deal with troubling circumstances and the physical strength to be able to use power tools for the majority of the day if needed. There are many other key characteristics which orthopaedic surgeons should have but I found these are the more important. If I know that I do not have some of these characteristics I will try and work on them for example my hand eye coordination I will do activities to improve my hand eye
