Anecdotal Speech Outline Intro: Bombs are very dangerous and are not to be messed with. Going from a fart bomb all the way to nuclear weapons of mass destruction bombs are not supposed to be taken lightly. Today I will talk to you about how a simple mistake of identifying a toy for a bomb at school led to a unintentional day off. I will first explain to you why we had our day off, about the events that took place that day, and what happened that following Monday. Body: It was Friday January 24th 2014 and we were already two weeks in the second semester of my junior year. So I wake up and get ready for school like any normal day *well that’s what I thought*. Every morning before school begins my brother and I park by some of our teammates …show more content…
Our morning routine is that we all hang out and play music in the school parking lot waiting for the first bell to signal class is about to begin. Greg Jones one of my close friends decides to head in earlier before the first bell rings to talk to one of his teachers. About five minutes pass and the bell rings and as a group we make our way to the main entrance. All I see in the horizon is a giant crowd of students outside of the giant white gates that enclose our campus. Next thing I hear is “TURN AROUND, NO SCHOOL TODAY, I'M OUT OF HERE”. I look up to see Greg yelling and flailing his arms in joy. In confusion I asked what is going on out of breath he said “the security guards said there was a bomb found in one of the trashcans on campus, they locked everyone out and said go home”. Then the whole mass of people outside of the gates started fleeing to their cars in joy. No questions asked me and my brother dipped to our …show more content…
We started our day off with having friends over at Ryan’s house we ordered pizzas played video games and listened to music. As a couple hours passed by we decided that we needed to be in some water but nobody wanted to drive to the beach. Greg thought of going to a nearby pool where there was no security and hop the fence. So we called up a couple of our friends and had squad trip at the pool. At this moment it is about 12 o’clock and Ryan gets a call from his mom saying that the school called. They said what appeared to be a bomb was actually the inner mechanical workings of a toy. They went on to say that the students were never told to go home and that everyone who does not show up will be marked truant. We saw no point in going back so we continued on with our pool day. Now I fast forward to the evening I checked in at home see how my mom was doing. I come home to find out my mom was oblivious to all the events that took place because she was sleeping all day after coming home from work. That night my mom went back to work so I decided to go back out with my friends. I got picked up by Greg, Koy, and Ryan. They tell me that we are having a bonfire tonight at Ryan’s house and more people are on their way. So we spend the night at Ryan’s house eating s'mores and having a good

The principal then called my dad and told him all of what happened and I could have swore they were only on the phone for five minutes and my dad got there as soon as they hung up. My dad talked with the principal and the teacher for about ten minutes then we went home. I didn't go to school for the rest of the week and that saturday he went and bought a house here in Eastover and I
The night was cold, the air humid, and the sky gloomy it was like any other night at the park but until I got a text message exclaiming LET'S PLAY A GAME. The clock struck 3:30pm as I walked into my apartment on Thursday the 3rd after my MIS class. I proceeded to unlock my bedroom, put my bag down and get into my UA Wildcat gear in preparation for the first game. My fraternity brothers and I were all meeting over at our house shortly so we could all walk to the stadium together. I then proceeded down the elevator, out to Park Avenue, and started my walk to the house. The minute I stepped outside I overheard a group of girls talking about the football game. “I’m so excited to finally get back to the Zoo,” one said. “Football season is my favorite time of the year,” another one said. I continued to walk down Park Avenue where I observed various groups of students all getting excited for the first game of the year. As I passed University Boulevard the madness continued with the bumper-to-bumper traffic, mass amounts
The school day did not start out as the normal routine and I was not used to this. I came in the classroom, set my backpack in my cubbie, and the teacher was watching the television screen. I cannot recollect what my teacher told the class about the events. Either I was too young to remember what she said or I was not paying attention. After everyone settled down, Mrs. Scholar began the school day. I remember some kids were leaving school. Their parents came and picked them up after just dropping them off an hour ago. Some of my classmates did not come to school that day at all. I
It was just like any other normal Thursday at HempPasture High School. The school day ended and I was exiting the school into the blistering cold air of mid-january. The bone-chilling wind kissed my cheeks, and hurried my rush into the field house to escape the bitter weather. I let out a sigh of relief as i entered the first set of doors, then began my decent down 2 flights of stairs to the locker room. As i descended, I couldn’t help but notice the eerie emptiness of the usually busy area of the field house. The stairwell was dimly lit, and it only seemed to get darker the more i descended. I finally came to the end of the stairwell and paused to see if i could hear anyone else as I usually would on any normal day, but all i could hear was my own faint breath. I slowly opened the door into
Starting the day, my sister and I were rushing out of the house to the car, so we sped down the road. The day was steamy and hot, and you could smell the fogginess falling down from the sky. We slowly got out of the car, parked by the activity entrance, we simultaneously glanced at our parents, I could feel the anxiousness spewing from them. Then we picked up the pace and opened the school doors, as I walked in I saw Jordan, a previous varsity player now senior, crumble to the floor

Then the morning of July 29, 2015, was finally upon me. It was a beautiful, summer day outside. Springing out of bed, excited as a little kid on their first day of school, I was filled with overwhelming joy. I had picked out my outfit in advance. Short black shorts, a classic band tee, and black converse, was what I had decided on. After making sure my outfit was quality, I put on my makeup, trying not to stab myself my eye with the mascara wand. As a I raced to get ready, I could not contain the smile that was trying to escape from my lips. As I stood at the top of the stairs, I hollered at my mom if she was ready to go.
It was a nice July day, I had been working all morning and I was needing to cool off. So I head over to a friends house in Laurium, I picked up Garrett and we went to another friends house in Calumet to let them follow us in his white minivan. I was driving a big maroon colored Ford E-350. We decided to go out towards Bootjack because we had to pick up another person from out there anyways. On the way out towards Bootjack, Garrett told me, “you know what’s weird? My mom told me before we left to be careful. She must think something bad is going to happen.” I was a little weirded out by this, but I was determined to have a good day. We found an empty camp site and went swimming in the lake. After we finished swimming we continued on our little day trip. We picked up Claire in bootjack, and wanted to head over to the other side of the Peninsula. So we drove down to McLain State Park and went on the break wall. We sat there for a good chunk of time. The time is 8:30.
Tony finished getting ready, and then we left for the high school. The parking lot was filled with all the other seniors’ cars. Tony and I walked into the library ten minutes late like usual, and the principal had already started giving instructions. I found my place in line and then was all ears. I couldn’t help but look around at all the others. Smiles were plastered on their faces as if they had heard a hilarious joke. Once the principal concluded his speech, the whole senior class paraded down the hallway to the commons in two uniform lines stopping just outside the gymnasium doors. We could hear the band warming up and playing songs. All the people that were standing around me were bubbling
The day right from the start seemed like a good day so I went about smiling and walked blissfully to my normal seat next to my friends. We prepared for the coming classes that day. The deafening bell sounded and we were on our way to start the actual day. My classmates and I walked joyfully through the hallways, joking and laughing before reaching our first period destination. I made my way to the front of the classroom and sat down. The air was crisp so I took out my jacket and put it on. Our teacher walked in a few minutes late and started to take attendance. The whole classroom focused on him. After he finished taking attendance, he slowly reached down into a drawer and pulled out a stack of papers. I stared in disbelief. The stack of papers he pulled out was actually a pop-test. I took the pop-test trying to recall everything that we had learned over the course of two weeks. I focused on the test for most of the class period and finally turned it in. The morning weather seemed to just be a ruse. This was not a blissful or good day; it took a turn for the worst. I sat there in the chilling room trying to think of something else to keep
