Throughout the course of my life I have overcome much adversity. I often lie in bed and ponder how I survived such a fatal misfortune. I was two years of age when I lost my mother in a tragic car accident while I held on for the fight of my life. The roads were wet and my mother's car had been sent slewing into oncoming traffic, leaving her pinned between the passenger and driver side door. The life drained from her body almost instantly. My head managed to bust through the window adjacent to me while a fragment of plastic from the car punctured through my skull. The accident left me with broken bones, including a fractured skull, and scars all over my body. I have been told by others how my mother appeared in her open casket as if she had …show more content…
High school has been a pathway full of barriers that have brought me to sudden halts when I happened to least expect them. My freshman year was smooth as could be, but early my sophomore year all hell broke loose when a custody battle was unleashed between my adoptive parents. I practically cut ties with the man who stood as a father figure of mine since I had lost my mother. He was my mother's father, and saying goodbye to him was saying farewell to the last person that I was connected to by blood. This was losing a father all over again, but this time I grasped an understanding of what was occurring. My junior year was a fresh start, to getting back on track. Everything went as planned until my second semester I was set back again, this time it was mononucleosis that stood in my path for half of a year. Half a year of education is invaluable. I regrettably failed two classes that I was extremely passionate about, chemistry and English. Although the most successful people not always had the best grades while in school, but they had the most ambition.
I have been confronted with many obstacles throughout my life. Some adversity temporarily altered my course through life, while other hardships have shaped the person I have become. All of the adversity that I have overcome during my life has taught me how to be a stronger person and to not take anything for granted. I have
My transition into high school was as easy as taking a breath. I had always found school quiet easy and I never had to put much effort into getting promising grades. Before high school I had my whole life figured out, or at least I thought I did. I had planned that I would attend a law school or major in English. After a while of being in high school I started to realize many things. My parents did not have the financial stability to send me to a law school, I was not as smart as all the other kids, little by little I began struggling with a negative mentality about myself and my future. I slowly let go of my dream of becoming a lawyer and decided to join the Health Careers Academy. Soon enough, I began to have a deep interest in the medical field but then again I continued to have the same question; how can I afford going to a medical school? I did not know much about college or what it took to get into college. I assumed I just had to have a pretty transcript and that was all it took. My self confidence began to lower as I saw how other students cruised through their high school years so effortlessly. I never wanted to ask for help because I did not want to seem “dumb”. I would bite my tongue and hold in all the unanswered questions I had. My junior year, I was having a very difficult time. I had a tight schedule which consisted of almost all AP or honors courses. I slowly began to give up because I did not believe that I could do it. I let my grades slip failing almost
Adversity is something that many people are able to over come, most people can by themselves, others it requires a lot of help and if they work together and set aside petty fears it will be overcome. When they come out to the other side they will be stronger that before both mentally and/or
Adversity will be overcome when one becomes brave , determined , and has the willingness to fail.As being born without a arm, baseball player Jim Abbott, had a long journey ahead of him.Or the brave runners who ran the Boston Marathon after two bombs went off at the finsh line. last year.Even Malala Yousafzai, a young who got shot in the head by the taliban because she thought that girls all girl should get an education. All of these people remember to maintain in control , be brave , and accept failure when overcoming adversity.
Overcoming adversity is hard, but these people survived the toughest obstacles that life could throw at you. Adversity is something everyone goes through, but these are extraordinary cases of what people went through. This crowd of people overcame adversity in three ways, only caring about what they thought, being creative, and facing their problems.
Major changes in my life have affected my high school career, but a large impact came from the death of my father in eighth grade. Before his passing, I was an average A/B student in middle school and even elementary school, which quickly changed in 8th grade when my classes became too hard for me to handle. I decided the best thing for my mental health was to drop out of my higher level classes. This lead to being in standard classes throughout my first year of high school with minimal effort from my part. After constantly missing school, I failed my second quarter. Instead of bouncing back from this, it pushed me down, making me believe I would never be able to recover. Without any motivation, I ended my ninth grade year with a grade point average of 1.4.
Before getting back up after you fall you have to gather all your strength and push whatever made you fall harder.Every time you fall the same solution might not work so you have to be stubborn and keep an attitude that tells your challenger Try your best shot, and that if you fall you won’t be gone for long.People overcome obstacles in less than three ways the three ways are by keeping a positive attitude, being determined, and lastly being a creative problem solver.
Adversity hit me at an early age. At three years old, my mother became ill, she decided to peregrinate to those deep antique Turkish baths on the outskirt of the mansion to revive herself in sultry steamy natural water, so she can feel good and salubrious again. To my hurt, those places are not built for minor kids. At the request of my father, my mother took me with her. This huge architectural structure gave me the creeps. In addition to that I found myself left in the alcove of this mural square with deep natural rectangular shape space. In the center of this place, merges sultry a steamy source of natural dihydrogen monoxide that holds a myth for years as a miracle remedy for the body and heart. It was plenary of women relishing the relaxing
Throughout my life I faced a lot of challenges. I had to overcome the obstacle that was on my way. The obstacle made me stronger and made me the person who I am right now a ambitious and hardworking student. The problem shaped me up because I know that I have to work for what I want and to not depend on no one, this made me more independent. Also, I learned from my mistake and try to do better.
Overcoming adversity is a challenge that everyone has to face. Some good examples of people who overcame adversity are the Boston Marathon runners, John J. Pinder, and Malala Yousafzai. They all had challenges to face, but they never gave up. Overcoming adversity is going to be hard, but the ending will be worthwhile, that’s why patience is needed to overcome adversity. Life is like a roller coaster, full of ups, downs, inside outs, sometimes you may start out slow, but as you go along, you speed up, in adversity, it may take some time to think about how to overcome it, but you’ get the hang of it and will eventually overcome it. Malala was faced with a lot of problems and challenges, but she pulled through and overcame adversity.
Adversity puts people in difficult or unpleasant situations which can create very strong emotions that can help or harm. When people face adversity, it is seen as a challenge and whether or not they overcome the challenge is personal. However regardless of whether adversity helps or harms, it is advantageous because it offers a challenge to overcome which builds character.
The transition from middle school to high school was difficult for me. I’d gone to very a progressive middle school where the students basically got to choose their own curriculum. I’d never had grades or a standard structure of any kind to measure my academic performance. Saint Mary’s, my high school, is college prep so the teachers move quickly, I am graded on everything, and expectations in general are much higher. For all of ninth grade I felt like I had been tossed into the deep end without knowing how to swim, and my grades reflected that mentality. Summer before tenth grade, I knew I couldn’t continue performing so poorly, so I began to study and to try and get a jump start on the next year’s curriculum. When school started I put much
What is life? Life consists of experiences, challenges, and achievements; all of which are building blocks that essentially create ones path to success. In one’s lifetime they can experience tough and difficult challenges. Sometimes these challenges become unbearable, especially when the odds are against you. However, going against all odds is something everyone is capable of doing, and to overcome these challenges everyone needs to have a “never quit” attitude in life. If we develop it, we'll overcome quite a bit.
Traditionally, failure is seen as a negative concept and is defined as lacking success. I, on the other hand, try to put a positive spin on everything in life. I see failure as an obstacle that is experienced by all, but it does not define an individual. Failure in essence will force an individual to be more receptive to their surroundings and actions and also will force an individual to mature. Looking back on my childhood years I can now pinpoint the areas where I failed and I can confidently say that I have grown and prospered due to those failures. The three major failures I have experienced were my attention deficit issues which affected my ability to succeed in school, my anti-social habit that I let consume my early years, and my
When an obstacle came my way, I was able to identify there was an issue, reach out to those around me, and most importantly stay positive. Everyone was right in their own way. My peers reminded me to have fun, my teacher reminded me to always listen and take notes, and my parents reminded they are there for me. This experience made me think, overcoming obstacles can be challenging for anyone. I am glad I have a good support system. Sometimes the advice I receive may seem like no one understands what I am going through, but I should listen and make the advice work for my situation. Things did not work out right away, but eventually they
Throughout my life, I have faced many challenges and obstacles that stood in my way. No matter the magnitude or even if there seemed to be no way possible, I always try and find a way. Every challenge that I have faced always required my maximum effort and was followed by success or failure, but this one is different. This is a challenge that I would have never in my life saw coming, this was a challenge where there was no succeeding or failing, but overall it made me a completely different person.
