Life gets in our way sometimes, for some people it’s most of the time. There are people out there that champion life and make it all seem easy. Then, there are people like me, people that can “fake it till you make it”, we have a pretty good poker face. The last group of people just crumble when posed with a problem or encounter an obstacle. Obstacles’ are everywhere, always, however it’s not always the obstacle that concerns people, its others’ reactions to the obstacle and how they overcome it. Whether it’s a relationship issue, a job issue, or a family issue they can all have the same effect on someone and their mental well-being. People can be afflicted with many issues daily that can have a negative impact on their state of mind. For the
My family makes a sufficient amount of money to take care of home necessities, but we only make so much money that we consider higher education a luxury. In addition, growing up without my father I have had to overcome many challenges including a lack of confidence and self love. Over time I have overcome these obstacles and I am proud of the young man I am today. I still find that I am my biggest critic, but instead of getting down on myself, I push myself harder to grow. Making mistakes is something I have accepted and have come to understand in order to get closer to my objectives both onstage and off. Everyday is an opportunity to learn, I make the choice challenging myself and grow as a student and as an artist. My background of growing
Throughout a person's life, they are faced with different obstacles, and different challenges of all different types. My life in particular has been full of up and downs used to be related especially towards my social/high school life.Everybody has goals and dreams they set for themselves, but they don't always try to achieve them. People might try to, but they sometimes will have obstacles in their way, stopping them. The only thing to do is overcome the obstacles. I have many obstacles I have to overcome and accomplish in order to achieve this dream. My first obstacle will be to do well in my classes at my highschool and after graduation, apply to college. I know l have to study and work extremely hard to accomplish this goal. Since there
Life is full of obstacles and everyone goes through different problems. There are two possible outcomes to every problem: one is success and the other is failure. Often times, people face failure and just give up on that challenge. Others use that failure and work hard to reach success. As for me, I did face failure but that did not stop me from climbing over obstacles and persevering in the face of challenge and adversity.
Life is like an obstacle course, you run into multiple obstacles on the way to the finish line, and there's no telling how many hindrances you may encounter. Very few people can go their whole life without obstacles along the way, others can’t seem to get away from them, but with every obstacle comes a beneficial or deleterious concomitant.
Life is not always a straight path, and most of the time there are ridiculous obstacles in the way. Individuals handle life differently than others. Certain people handle problems badly, but others handle problems just fine. Some acceptable ways people overcome adversity is by embracing differences, having a positive attitude, and persevering to get through the obstacles/problems.
Challenges and obstacles are everywhere and no matter what is thrown my way I have to always remind myself that life is always worth living. I've always been one to deal with being nervous about things whether it has been in my personal life or things just not going the way I want them to. I have come to realize that if I just focus and take a breath it relieves even more of the stress and nervousness in my life.
While the students Putnam describes come from a variety of classes, races, and levels of parental involvement, they all had a solid chance to scale the social ladder. One reason that most, if not all, students achieved some level of upward mobility was that they possessed a strong work ethic. For example, on page ten Putnam describes Libby, the daughter of a poorer working-class family with nine siblings. “Academically, Libby’s parents set high expectations for their children, and Libby lived up to them: she was an honors student in the college-prep track.” After high school, Libby served as a strong force in the town’s political system. Her slight increase in social wellbeing was heavily rooted in the fact that she was a hard worker. Another
Have you ever believed that you are unable to come over an obstacle? If so, then I will tell you that you were wrong. You might not believe me but after getting familiar with some examples of obstacles from my life, you will know it will take only three steps to come over an obstacle. Obstacles have never been easy for young athletes but they are not impossible either. To overcome the obstacle of making onto the sports team of Track and Field, I only needed a strong mindset, massive amount of practice and an abundance of confidence.
In life, there are obstacles that we all have to overcome one way or another. Obstacles come on various levels and often it’s not about the battle, it’s about the impact of hardship on your life that results from the battle. Under one occurrence that I’m grappling with now, I know it’s something I have to go through to grow, and that it’s all in the will of God.
We have covered several interesting topics during these past eight weeks, but chapter 12 Overcoming Obstacle is a chapter; which relates to my life and academic endeavors. When I have conversations with some of my student worker’s, I share some of my testimony. I tell student’s; they can overcome any obstacles by setting goals, surrounding themselves with positive people, and trusting in God.
Obstacles are challenges we face in life which help us grow as people. Nearly three years ago, my daughter was killed in a tragic accident. Losing my only child left me mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally drained. This has been the longest journey ever.
Oftentimes, there will be obstacles that will hinder me from achieving my goals in life, though I will always overcome them with hardwork and diligence. When I started school in Maryland, I was oblivious to my surroundings and would frequently get carried away. Unlike other kids I went to school with, I tended to be a follower. I was a “class clown” all throughout elementary school due to being influenced by other kids. With all this in mind, this was when I discovered my hearing impairment.
It is true that the lessons we learn from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Keeping my identity, values, and what I believed in despite the disapproving evolving thoughts of others was a challenge I faced. Often times I was judged by those same beliefs and values I keep close to my heart. I was told that I am “intimidating” when I was the only one to know the answer in class. Could it be that I wear my scarf on my head instead of around my neck? Or that I don't worry about what I would wear tomorrow? Or that I don't notice the materialistic world? Could it be simply my refusal to blend in but to unintentionally standout? Ironically, most don't understand the struggle. How their whispers, taunts and side jokes affect
Overcoming an obstacle is a process in which we, as humans, encounter every day. Obstacles come in every shape and form throughout life, with many different levels of difficulty. In my own opinion we can only grow and become more efficient at what we do by meeting and overcoming obstacles. Growing in my personal and professional life is a very important to me and I intend on becoming better in life in all my performances. My plan of action is to be pro-active when utilizing resilience in everyday functions.
When living with other people, conflicts are bound to arise. When I was an undergrad, I lived on campus with two other girls. For the first few years, we all lived in harmony. We all had different personalities, but we made it work. However, we ran into a major problem during our senior year: one of the roommates became a puzzle maniac. As seniors, we were all experiencing stress trying to finish our senior projects and figuring out post-graduation plans. One day, my roommate, Anna, brought a 2000 piece puzzle home for the three of us to work on together. It soon became an enjoyable way for us to spend time together. However, after we finished the first puzzle, my other roommate, Katie, got hooked. Katie started buying puzzle after puzzle and
