Unit 28 P1 M1 – Web Architecture and components
P1 Web Architecture – Is what creates the internet, and allows it to function
Internet Service Providers (IPS) – With IPS, they are companies that will measure the amount of data that you are sending through the internet, they basically give the users access to the internet in order to use it. A lot of IPS in our time will allow many ways to connect the user to the internet, the three main ways that are used are; Digital subscriber line (DSL), fibre optic, broadband, and many different ones in the world that allows people to use them. Examples of the service providers in the UK can be Virgin Media, Sky, and BT, that provides the customer with internet to their house through the routers,

As the computers generated a series of numbers known as the IP address, they are quite difficult for humans to remember, so the domain names were created to identify the websites rather than using the IP address. In order to use the domain name, it must first be registered. The domain names have three parts to them. For example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfX7mCHbroc. The domain name would be the blue, the top level domain is red also known as the extension and the directory where the web page would be based in green.
Registrars – gives the host a way to keep the domain and stop anybody else from using It. All the major websites and companies would have their websites registered so no one can take the name. For example https://www.youtube.com/ has claimed the domain name.
World Wide Web – Also known as WWW, which has a vast of data, websites, files and everything that would be connected to the internet. It is the structure for the servers that supports all kinds of formatted documents. The formatted documents are in HTML (Hypertext Mark-up language) which would be able to link in other documents such as graphics audio and video files. This is efficient as the user can go from document to another. Web browsers such as Google Chrome, Safari, and Internet Explorer allow World Wide Web to be operated so that the websites are easily accessible.
Components
Hardware – There are a variety of external
Web hosting services – this is where a user will buy a certain amount of storage space on a company’s network, which will then be visible to the public through a IP address, and store their website files so a third user can visit the website. This allows users to view the website by downloading packets of information.
DNS is the service that translates from domain name to the matching IP address. The roles of the name servers in this process are:
In order to first begin to create a website one needs not only come up with a name and logo, if they do not already have one, but also need to buy a domain name. The domain name can be bought from many different Host websites, such as GoDaddy and Network Solutions, and should be short and easy for people to remember and type. One is less likely to get traffic through their site if the domain name is hard to type and/or remember.
When setting up a new website or business online, one of the most important steps in the process is the creation of a domain name. A domain name is the name that those on the Internet will use to find your website. It is contained in the URL for that particular page. It is a quick means to give users a glimpse into your site. The name you choose might be the name of your company or the services that you provide. It may include your location or any other information you wish to include. No matter what information you include, when a user encounters your domain name they should be able to tell who you are or what service you offer.
host name- A name made up of alphabetic, numeric, and some special characters, used to identify a specific IP host. Host names that follow the convention for domain names in the DNS system use a hierarchical design, with periods separating parts of the name.
The hardware that make up the internet and there for the web are massive data banks of servers these servers are all over the world and hold a vas amount of data this data this data is all stored on there hard drives with some data banks can hold up to hundreds of terabytes of data in one location this data is used to make up webpages that we can view and buy thing from and they are all linked together so that they can share information. This forms what we call the web as we know it.
It contains all the internet domain names and resolves them to IP’s which the machine could understand. They could be located in different geographical locations for purposes of redundancy. In Linux the service that should be availed is BIND (Berkeley Internet Name domain) and for windows Microsoft DNS.
HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. HTML is a markup language, which is used for creating tags.
After buying a domain name, what next? Domain in simple term is a plot of land. When you secure a domain name, you secure a digital plot of land on the internet. That security comes with an identification label to prove ownership or control. That ownership acquired from a Domain name Registrar (such as godaddy.com, domains.google.com) does not confer outright ownership or legal ownership of the domain but only an exclusive right of use for a particular period of time (usually for 1 year, 2 years, 5 years or 10 years). After securing a domain name, you have to host it.
The domain name management industry deals with domain name registry, transfer and management. Domain name is unique address within the internet network, similar to a physical address in real world. Some of the example of domain name are: google.com, apple.com or amazon.com.
When you type a website name into your browser, your browser first does a lookup for the domain’s IP address. Once the IP address is found, the browser makes a request to the server for a connection. The server accepts, and then it sends you the website’s HTML for your browser to display. Let’s say you find a contact form on a website and want to send the owner a message. You type your

The Domain Name System (DNS) is a major component of the Internet that maps human understandable names to machine level IP addresses. From the past few years, as the Internet are evolved across the regions, more service providers started using DNS in a way which was not meant such cases were used often in content delivery networks (CDNs), NXDOMAIN Remapping and URL auto completion. But the paper mainly focus on the new class of DNS misuse called disposable domains and author found that various service providers, popular search engines, social networks and security companies, started heavily using automatically generated domain names to send ‘one-time signal’ to their servers. These disposable domains are generally created on demand in abundant which belongs to common parent DNS zones. They have unique cache hit rate percent which distinguish them from non-disposable domains (Yizheng et al., 2014).
A common way to get to a Web site is to enter the URL of its home page file in your Web browser 's address line. However, any file within that Web site can also be specified with a URL. Such a file might be any Web (HTML) page other than the home page, an image file, or a program such as a common gateway interface application or Java applet. The URL contains the name of the protocol to be used to access the file resource, a domain name that identifies a specific computer on the Internet, and a pathname, a hierarchical description that specifies the location of a file on that computer.
URL plays a very vital role in web site and the domain name is an important part of URL. The visitor enters URL on browser to get that web site and view the contents. Without it users won’t be able to locate web site, read the content, access the
