Pattonsburg school district is growing. The number of students in the area continues to grow larger each year. The community has seen this rapid growth and decided it was time to vote for an addition to the school. After reviewing the recent enrollment numbers, it was discovered that there has been about a 13 percent increase in students over the past five years. This vote took place at the end of the 2016 school year and construction work began in October. The current building is made up of simply domes. The new addition for cost reasons, will not be a dome. Benny Sprague, the school’s maintenance worker and bus driver stated, “I think many of the faculty members and students will like this better, mainly because the addition will have windows.” …show more content…
The plan is to purchase new doors for all around the school that will require all the faculty members to obtain a key fob to enter. Also, certain doors will be ran on timers that will only open for 5 minutes between classes. Sprague said, “This is to stop a lot of student traffic from going in and out of the building.” Also, the ceilings have been lowered and all of the lights have been switched to LED, this is to decrease costs in lighting, heating, and cooling the building.
The new building will include the superintendent’s office, the superintendent’s secretary’s office, a new art room, band room, preschool classroom, library, and an extra room for board meetings or if another classroom is needed for any reason. Sprague said, the old band room will be a new weight room, the preschool trailer will be sold, and the library will be storage for the kitchen and anything else necessary. It is undecided at the moment what will be done with the old offices of the superintendent and secretary.
This project is predicted to be done in a few short months. Sprague stated that, “The school is supposed to take possession of the new addition on July 5, meaning the building should be done around
The architectural influence of El Paso High School was from Classical structures such as the Maison Carrée from Nîmes, France (ca. 1-10 AD) as well as the Pantheon in Rome, Italy (ca. 118-128 AD). El Paso High School’s east façade and the Maison Carée each have a podium with Corinthian volutes, frieze, pediment, dentils and a hexastyle portico, which in this case is a covered area supported by six different columns (Photo 5). The differences between these two structures is that El Paso High School’s east façade is enclosed on both of the far ends and only has one engaged column on either side, while the Maison Carée’s façade has an open-ended side which is supported by multiple columns. The Maison Carée also sports a pseudoperipteral façade that runs around the building and El Paso High does not sport this same feature. El Paso High School has a few engaged-columns in certain areas around the school although they are not a highly important feature, I think.
Headland Middle School completed our School Improvement Plan in May 2014. The school leadership team (including parents) reviewed the 2013-14 School Improvement Plan to assess if implemented strategies have been met. Is true that the schools can be renovated, as it is going to happen with Davisville School, but the renovation will need to accommodate more than 700 students in the same space, most of the schools are old and were build to have specific capacity of students, however, with

The building was originally constructed in 1974 and was renovated in 2013. The building nowadays is a typical sample of green building with all new mechanical, electrical, plumbing and data systems. It is designed to make it one of the most energy efficient office buildings in the country. The owner of the project is United States General Services Administration. The work was completed by a custom integrated team of Cutler Anderson Architects as the design excellence architect, SERA Architects as the executive and interior design architect, and Howard
Saying this, the corporation must be funded federally. The average cost per building is about thirty to fifty million dollars. This money incorporates the main frame of the sixty story building with all windows, flooring, and insulated drywall. The estimated salary cap of the employees is around forty five million dollars. Each floor will hold approximately seven to ten rooms. Each room will hold 25 students and a teacher. The impact of this building will affect many citizens of the community. This corporation will help the uneducated, poor, and immigrants unable to attend a prestige or community college or even a high school. It is averaged to educate over six thousand citizens annually in any state with two or more
The approved 2018-2019 budget totals $618.7 million, a 5% increase from the current year. The budget includes $9.3 million for a new elementary school, which will be located on West Madison Avenue and opened in two years. Also included in the budget is a 4.5% raise for teachers and a 6% raise for administrators. Superintendent Gary Hubbard’s salary was increased by $10,000, to $137,000 per year.
Instead of a closed model of information, it now opts for the open model. The additional re-purposing of the building (to include more computers and less books), reflects our society’s transition into digital cataloging and waning reliance on printed texts (or it might simply be one of functionality, with the location being prime for students to study in). The interior structure of the building remains boxy and boring, but refinements have been added (marble walls, wood paneling, overhead lighting, ceiling tiles, carpeting) to facilitate it’s functionality. What was once a place for books has shifted to a place for humans. What was once a place for printed documents has now shifted to the digital
If the school had leftover money at the end of the year, then the school board should consider using it for more updates around campus. For example, the playgrounds. The playgrounds are worn down and getting very, very old. They also need a modern update. It would be great for kids to enjoy something present-day styled. Another thing that should be updated is the classrooms. All of the classrooms should be bigger because it would be easier to do group activities and there would be more space for events like back to school night or open house. St. Anne classrooms could also use a modern update. New technology and new desks should be broughten in to give new classrooms the updates they need. Last but not least, the school bathrooms. The bathrooms
Our building will withstand volcanic eruptions, the walls will be made out of 2 layers, one brick and one cement to lessen the impact on the inside. Also the building will be made of fire-retardant material that won't catch 6fire. Our building will be able to withstand landslides which will be prevented by directing surface and ground water away from potential areas of landslides and building cement walls to stop them before they hit the school. Our building is 900 feet in length, 800 feet in width, 30 feet in height. The computer labs are 25 feet in length, 15 feet in width, 19 feet in height. The science classrooms are 30 feet in width and length, 25 feet in height.
When students got the schedule they also should have got a school map showing all the classrooms and other things in the school, but they don’t give you a map of the area around the school. If you don’t already know we have open campus here at North to you can go anywhere during lunch as long as you make it back in time for 4th period
As I walk up the pathway to Holy Ghost Prep, the first building I see to my left is Founders Hall. When I walk into Founders Hall and see the classrooms, the first thing I notice is that all of the classrooms are similar except Founders 204. At the end of the hallway on the 2nd floor, the doors of this unique classroom catch my eye and I enter. The first thing I notice about F204 is that the ceiling is shaped differently. The ceiling is triangular because it a room designated for communication purposes. The next things are the windows. Along the back of the room there are windows going almost all the way to the top of the room. Through these windows, you can see some of the HGP campus including the track, the soccer field, and Spiritan Hall.
