Tangerine The book Tangerine, by Edward Bloor, is a realistic fiction story. Picking up the book, I inferred that the story would be gloomy. On the cover, you can see what I presume is Paul Fisher. In the background, I observed a red sky, and fire burning on the ground. As the back of the book reads, “In Tangerine, it seems, anything is possible”. The book is written as a diary or journal of the main character, Paul Fisher. He has very bad eyesight, and is considered legally blind. His family tells him the reason he has bad eyesight is because he stared into a solar eclipse, but Paul doesn’t remember that. Erik Fisher is Paul’s brother. He plays football, unlike Paul, who plays soccer. Joey Costello is the first friend Paul makes after he
The main point of this story, Tangerine, by Edward Bloor, is how the people who are looked down upon see from different points of view. An example of this is the main character, Paul, who is considered blind by many and is often looked down upon in society, however, he often sees what others do not and has excessive knowledge of the world around him. Even though he sees everything, he does not say what he knows and others do not ask him, for they believe he has no knowledge of the problems. After moving to Tangerine, he sees his brother doing horrible things and his parents none the wiser. His friend suffers at the hands of his brother and is eventually killed, and afterwards, Paul feels much guilt for the words unsaid. Since Paul is often looked down upon, he notices facts and clues society does not, however he fears saying something, in which causes his friend to be murdered.
Do you love your mom? I love mine and trust her. I rely on her in many ways. Paul, on the other hand, does not have those luxuries. His mother can be clueless, cruel, and just wrong sometimes. Mrs. Fisher made many choices to impact Paul. They influenced him in both positive and negative ways. Paul’s mom had the greatest impact on Paul because her choices.

Imagine waking up every morning smelling smoke from a muck fire that will never go away. In the book, Tangerine by Edward Bloor, the main character, Paul Fisher, faces many choices that affect him in positive and negative ways. Paul is a young boy that has the struggle of moving from Houston, Texas to Tangerine, Florida. This can be a hard change for anybody. Paul makes many decisions that affect himself. First, he tells the police on Erik for being involved with the death of Luis Cruz, two he choses to go to Tangerine Middle school because he did not need an iep anymore so he had the opportunity to play soccer, and finally he decides to jump on coach Warner’s back . The choices Paul makes, and the consequences of those choices, affect the development of his character.
Having an evil character in a story makes the story much more interesting. The evil character in Tangerine is Erik, a high school boy, brother and son who is focused only on himself. When we think of evil people, we think about Hitler, Osama, and Hiroshi. With his deceit, disregard for others, and self-centered attitude, Erik could be on that list. In this story, Paul, Erik’s younger brother, is the hero because he thinks about others and does the right thing in difficult situations. Although Erik is cruel, dishonest, and dishonorable, he makes a book’s best villain.
The novel Tangerine, has many surprises and extraordinary plots and twists. The story starts off with Paul, a normal middle school kid, starting a new life off in a foreign environment called Tangerine County in the state of Florida. It is a new school, which means new people. His brother, Erik, gains a powerful position, also known as a bully. He teases Paul’s friends : Joey, Tino, and many more. A main conflict is the battle between Erik and Paul. Erik gets all the attention from family, and Paul is treated like leftovers. As the story advances, Paul struggles to remember what caused him to have extremely eyes. His eyes require “coke bottle” glasses that creates fame, sometimes unwanted fame, for Paul. The author Edward Bloor uses symbolism and flashbacks to help express a theme; growing and changing, that relates to a not so ordinary student named Paul Fisher.
Greg Heffley is the main character of the book. He tells the story in first person. The illustrator (Jeff Kinney) uses expressions to tell and explain what is going on in the story. For example, if someone was to become angry he would maybe use capital letters if necessary. In the pictures he would draw the character looking angry, he would draw an angry face or if they were to look not to look like that he would draw a normal face on a character.
The novel is told in first person by Ethan Wate. Ethan is a typical 16 year-old boy growing up in Gatlin with his parents until his mom passed away the previous summer. His dad had gone mad and was sent to a mental hospital in town. He lives with Amarie Treadeau, nicknamed and better known
A young boy tells about how one year and one person changes his life, his perspective and overall demeanor on life. It goes way back to his grandfather being a welcher. So his family and Hegberts did not get along due to the past that the neither of them were involved in. Landon was his name and and hers was Jamie, He and his friends would make fun of her at school. The nicest person you could know and they were cruel. Throughout this whole book Landon tries to make it up to Jamie.
Peter Houghton, the main character, is not your typical teenage boy. I believe that Picoult eloquently illustrated his character when saying, “Peter was, simply, what a person would look like if you boiled down the most raw emotions and filtered them of any social contract” (Picoult, 186). Ever since his first day of kindergarten, Peter had been tormented physically and mentally by his classmates for twelve
This realistic fiction novel is about the adventures of teenager Alex Gregory as he faces the consequences of drinking and driving by doing community service at a retirement home for an old man named Solomon Lewis. Throughout the story Alex faces many problems such as his parents going through a divorce and getting back together, having to deal with Solomon , and then dealing with the judge not fulfilling his request to change patients. Sonnenblick makes it seem you are in the book by going into detail with everything and making sure the reader understands the book and the characters feelings completely.

This novel is a book about a boy named Pip, and like the name states, it's mainly about him juggling his stress, his father who pressures him, Katie, and trying to find his identity. There are many settings in the story and themes that go with them, but I think the setting, football field and the theme, courage, are very important to the story. This is how Pip showed courage all throughout the novel.
The author of this book wrote the story as if it were a true account of events. The author himself is not a main character in the story, but observes the lives of the main characters from his experiences with them with a vast and deep understanding of their lives. The first character introduced is Elliot Templeton. Elliot a wealthy European aristocrat, throws extravagant parties and entertains individuals of very high social class. Elliot brings the author into his social crowd and they become very close friends. In fact, Elliot had many acquaintances from his parties, but very few friends. On his deathbed, the author was the only friend that came to see him. It was through Elliot that the author journeyed to America with to meet the
