Percy Jackson was sent on this quest to find Zeus missing lightning bolt, he had week to do it or he was turned into a dolphin. He was the son of Poseidon which wasn't a great thing because Poseidon wasn't supposed to have children. Chiron sent him on this quest but, the real reason Percy did it was to save his mother. When he was given this quest he got a prophecy which is which one or more messages are communicated by gods. His friend Annabeth and Grover went on the quest to help him. Grover was a satyr and Annabeth has been at camp Half-Blood since she was seven and camp Half-Blood is the camp Percy was sent too. Finally all four parts of Percy prophecy came true.
The character who changed the most from the beginning of the book to the end of the book was Luke Castellan. He was the son of Hermes, a greek messenger god who is also one of the 12 olympians. At the beginning of the series Luke was Precy’s ambassador/guide. He was acting all nice and sweet and was also one of Percy’s really friend at the time. When Percy got a quest to retrieve Zeus's master bolt from the underworld, Luke gave him a pair of cursed flying sandals which was meant to drag Percy straight to Tartarus once he got to the underworld with the bolt, so the evil titan lord Kronos could rise. Fortunately it was Grover, a satyr who’s also Percy’s best friend, was were the sandals when they got to the underworld and was thankfully rescued
Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief is about a 12 year old boy named Percy Jackson who's getting chased by mythological monsters and his two friends Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena, and Grover Underwood a satyr who is Percy's protector. Percy was in 6th grade and had just gotten out of school for summer break, when he found out that he was a half-blood, his mother was Sally Jackson, a mortal and his father was Poseidon, king of the sea. Percy got sent to camp Half-Blood for protection from monsters and got assigned a mission to find a lightning bolt that the gods think he stole and prevent a war between the gods, Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus.

At the beginning of the story, Percy's life perspective is pretty negative. Percy is a 12-year-old boy who has been expelled from every school he has attended in the past 6 years. Percy is dyslexic and has ADHD. A scene that best shows this is when he says, “I could start at any point in my short and miserable life to prove it.” When he begins telling his story, he's a bit grumpy, angry, or even depressed. Percy comes from a very humble background, meaning he is grateful for the simple joys in life. Percy never knew his dad. His mother eventually married a guy named Gabe Ugliano, Percy calls him Smelly Gabe. They live in a small apartment in Queens, NY, and Gabe enjoys making Percy's life and Percy's mom's life miserable.

In the process of defeating Minotaur, Percy loses his mother, which he feels was his last hope to returning to his normal human life. By drawing parallels between Percy and various heroes of Greek Mythology, the author shows Percy in the light of a hero. A hero who is yet to prove his worth in the Camp Half-Blood. His encounter with Clarisse at a bathroom in camp, allows him to show his strength, which was very similar to that of his father Poseidon, but also instils in some ways fear amongst the camp
Percy wakes up at a place called camp half-blood. Camp half-blood is created by magical borders in order to protect demigods so they can continue to train while being safe. After entering camp half-blood Percy learns about his identity of being a demigod. A demigod is child from a human and Greek god parent. He learns that he’s the son of one the three major Gods, Poseidon. Also, that his mother is very much alive but is kidnapped by Hades one of the three major Gods as well. Percy then goes into training and utilizes his dragon to be a positive trait that helps him settle into his new life. As his dyslexia functions for mythology and his ADHD helps him keep moving in
Do you believe that it would be an advantage or an disadvantage to be a demigod or halfblood. Anyways, In the book Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief, a young demigod in high school learns about his secret life and is forced to come to camp halfblood, for his protection from the outside world. As he becomes accustomed to the camp, both the counselors and Percy start to detect his special powers and that he might be a child of the big three. The “Big Three” referring to the three most powerful gods of olympus, which are Zeus, Poseidon and Hades. Although Percy demonstrates many signs of being a child of the big three, the camp still is not sure what god he belongs too.

As this story is focused on the perspective of the protagonist, the cultural differences that he faces at camp half-blood, the strange and unknown place that Percy must now stay at for his own safety, versus his previous ‘normal’ life, are highlighted throughout the novel. In the beginning of the novel, Percy states that he has had to switch schools often through his childhood, which is likely to have had an influence upon his being considered a troubled student. From this, it can also be implied that he would have some difficulty in learning while in school, and preventing himself from causing any trouble. Summary- In the book the lightning thief. Percy Jackson ends up in the camp called camp half-blood. He is soon brought to having to fight Zeus back for the famous lightning bolt. As him and 2 friends take big adventures and travel all over they eventually become to the war with them and Zeus. Using flying shoes and all of the other tricks they all have, they fight and fight and the big question is still upon us who will win? Will they get the lightning bolt and return it back to where it belongs. The underworld is a bad place and neither of them would like to go there.
The Lightning Thief starts with Percy and his best friend Grover at a greek mythology museum when the assistant teacher attacks Percy and Chiron throws Percy a pen and tells him to click it and it turns into a pen.After defeating the assistant teacher Chiron tells him to go to camp half-blood where he will be safe.
Percy Jackson is a twelve year old boy that lives in New York, in modern time. He has attended a few private schools for troubled students (Riordan 1). In fact, he describes himself as a “troubled kid” with dyslexia and ADHD (Riordan 7). Percy is used to being the loner of the group, after attending six schools in the past six years which probably means he doesn’t make many friends. (Schmoop). His classmates do not have a need to scramble for money.
