Perseverance Research Paper

Every person on this earth experiences pain. There are no exceptions, no anomalies. The fact that we endure pain, does not mean that all we ever experience will be pain. Lance Armstrong once said, “Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.” From this, we can take that if we persevere, pain will eventually end, but if we surrender to that pain, we will suffer the effects for much longer than we would have had we pushed through the struggle. There are three main places where we can see success through perseverance: in our careers, emotions, and education. In all of these subjects, true success is achieved with plenty of perseverance. All of these are opportunities to connect with Lance Armstrong’s motivational statement regarding perseverance. If we take this and learn from it, we are likely to experience success in our own lives.

Perseverance is a mandatory quality to possess. As a matter of fact, perseverance is a blend of spirit and determination. This skill instills motivation and drive into the hearts of others. One does not require special talents or great knowledge to be a vessel in which this quality can be observed. In her essay, First Job, Illiana Roman illustrates a life filled with hard work and perseverance through anecdotes, word choice, and sentence structure.

Per the Smyrna District's Core Values, that “Perseverance means the inner strength to remain constant to a purpose, idea, or task in the face of obstacles. This includes dedication, consistency, and having a positive attitude.” To me perseverance is to keep trying and never give up. One of Kid President’s famous sayings is ‘’If at first you don't succeed you’re normal!’ This reminds me when I first got on my bike I fell.

I believe that having the ability to persevere in any given situation is one of the best but also one of the toughest qualities that one can posses. Perseverance is not a quality that everyone can have because being able to persevere takes being strong-willed, having the mental capability and the tenacity to push through anything even when it gets difficult. Having perseverance is not easy, I have to be willing to continue with whatever is being done despite the difficulty or delay of succes.

a Courageous act is defined as one that is performe intentinally with awareness and delibiration and has a possibility of some risk, physical or psychological (clarke, lindsay & sternberg,2007). , According to the VIA Survay of Cheracter Strengths, perserverance is classifyedas a specific character strength falling under the broader, core character strength of courage. (Peterson & Seligman, 2004). Perserverance is regarding as an ongoing effort to achieve a goal or acomplish a task despite delayed gratification or obstacles that may appear on the path to success. perserverance does not guarantee sucess but sucess is often unattainable without it because to achieve meaningful accomplishments one must withstand setbacks. (peterson & seligman, 2004).

Pain has been the name of the game in my life, through hospital visits to almost dying this is my story of perseverance. I have been faced with unfavorable odds. I have been fighting my whole life to get where I am today.

The selections:”The Lost Boys”, “Nick Vujicic: Life without Limits”, and ‘’Saudi Arabia’s Riders’’ each show perseverance in a different way. The overall theme is to never give up, and throughout each selection different characters are in different situations and have to stay strong and never give up. Perseverance is when you stay steady and constant with something don’t matter what obstacles interfere. So, by each of the characters never giving up in the worse situations they are showing outstanding perseverance. Perseverance is something that can get you a long way and makes you stronger. If any of the character in either selections would have gave up they wouldn’t be in the place they are at the

“insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.” is a quote often attributed to Albert Einstein. I have also heard it said that “Perseverance: doing the same thing over and over again, but aiming just a little to the right.” It is remarkable how accurate that was for me. Perseverance is just one step away from insanity, but virtually all successful people can contribute parts of their success to it. Realizing this, I can proudly contribute the success of my past and the success of my future to my perseverance in even the toughest of situations.

One is drawing near to the finish line, their legs are aching and hurting. But they are persistent and determined to finish the race strong, so they push until they get to the end.This is a great example of what perseverance can feel and look like. Everyone deals with different types of obstacles in different situations in life. My problem is the subject of math. Math is not a very easy subject for me to learn as I sometimes, do not understand equations that the teacher wants me to know. Through this situation I would have problems with homework and tests that have to deal with the class subject math. That is where perseverance would come in and help me through with this subject and would be able to make me a better math student.

Perseverance, cooperation, and knowledge are all traits one generation can learn from another. While adults might be able to teach younger people, that doesn't mean that minors can't learn grown-ups as well.

Steve Jobs is an entrepreneur and an inventor whose actions still affect us today in a very great way. Steve Jobs created Apple. The Apple company has made many types of electronics that make our day a lot easier. The Apple software company has also made millions of dollars off of iPads, iPhones, and lots of other tech that helps us with our day-to-day work. From sending emails to playing video games Apple has made it so much more efficient. Steve created one of the first Pixar films. Almost everyone loves Pixar. They make great movies and there’s that hopping lamp at the beginning. But Pixar might have gone out of business if it weren’t for Jobs to create Toy Story. Steve Jobs (1955-2011), the celebrated founder of Apple Inc., was the Da Vinci, Edison, and Tesla of our time. Jobs entrepreneurial spirit pushed our technology to such levels as to integrate it into our daily lives; jobs were an innovator. Some called him a perfectionist, micro-managing freak, a tyrant, a genius. All blended into a singular, compact individual whose handiwork included the personal computer, the mouse, the drop-down menu, iMac, iTunes, iPod, iPhone, and the iPad.
