In life there are always moments that we wish we could take back. If given the chance to revisit the past and change the outcome of a situation, I would have not dropped out of school and later gotten my GED. I made this decision at a young age, unaware of how this decision would change my future greatly. In deciding to drop out of school, I missed out on the experience that high school gives you and how it would have helped develop my character. If I stayed enrolled in school I would have had more doors opened for my future and the assistance that I would have needed to make those life choices such as college. I would have been able to feel the sense of success, like getting promoted to a higher position, getting rewards for all my hard work at the job, or simply getting employee of the month. I would’ve wanted to finish the four years of high school and know that all my hard work has paid off.
The knowledge and skills obtained while in high school could have assisted me in my future with things such as college or employment, because in high school I would have learned social skills, like communicating professionally with my bigger bosses, the owner of the company, or the CEOs. This is information and skills that could have assisted me in my future and helped me define the type of person that I could have become. A student is taught ethics and problem solving skills, for example, how to get the work done right or how to make a customer or guest satisfied. Also,
Many say they would, many say they wish they could, and many say they would not change their past. We are all unique containing different experiences and lessons all of which have shaped who we are today. People try to be who they want to be by taking control of their lives. I realized I needed to control my life after always putting people's needs before mine (use something else that relates more to the essay).
Occasionally, I sit back and think what if I hadn’t dropped out of high school. What if I had not joined the Army? What if that What if this. I was compelled to tell myself for every wrong turn, I made; it was my way to succeed in making the right turn. Life hurls a curve ball, and you have to maneuver yourself to catch it. With an unyielding mind and determination; the wrong turn can be the right one However, it is the way we were supposed to follow that curve ball with the anticipation of will I catch it, or will I drop it. Going back to school to obtain a degree will improve my quality of life, strengthen my self-esteem, and grant me knowledge to obtain exceptional opportunities.
In life there are many struggles that interfere with a students education. In the 1970s, the United States had the world’s highest high school graduation rate. Today, we are ranked number twenty-one which shows a decrease in students that graduate. Lowering the dropout rate can solve several economic and social problems. Dropping out of high school has become a controversial topic that will continue for ages to come. Students should be required to stay in school until the age of eighteen because those without a high school diploma have higher unemployment and lower job satisfaction, have lower earnings, and have a higher likelihood of ending up in jail or on public assistance
I was always the class clown and would never receive satisfactory grades on my report card. For a short period of time, I was the “disappointment” in the family. But after watching what my cousin went through, I realized that dropping out wasn’t an option. My cousin motivated me to change my ways in school and work harder. Although I had wished he never dropped out of high school and instead excel in an institution of higher learning, he turned me into a better student. Him dropping out made me realize I didn’t want to end up gangbanging in the streets, I would rather excel in academics and eventually attend an institution of higher learning. I made attending a four-year university my goal for the next four years of high school and I eventually accomplished that goal as I am now attending Syracuse
A continued education after high school leads to better and more suitable job. A higher education lest a person
As I look back on my life, I wouldn’t change what happened. Because I was expelled out of school, I had to attend an alternative program which caused me to rethink my life choices. My friends changed along with my relationship with my parents. Since graduation I have been in a serious relationship and gave birth to my son, Austin. I also experienced a serious health problem called graves’ disease that required a thyroidectomy. All these events are making me a stronger person to take back my
When I heard I had to take statistics I was ready to quit going back to school because everyone that had taken it years ago always told me how hard it was. So, when I became a student in my late blooming years saw that I had to take statistics I freaked out and was well on my way of quitting. Every time I would see I was scheduled to take the class I would change my schedule. Then I actually started the class and dropped it. Well, as you can see I am in the fifth week and writing this paper. I struggled this whole time with the homework assignments until I hired a tutor because I could not out this class off again. I have actually did pretty well when I changed my mind set on how I thought about the class and did indeed learn how to work excel, and do the assignments. Biostatistics allows you to knowledge to ultimately build educated selections regarding findings to include into your own repertoire of data and to follow. Inferential statistics is used when you are trying to reach conclusions that extend beyond the immediate data alone, Descriptive statistics are brief descriptive coefficients that summarize a given data set, and Studying to want to study things in groups statistics was very helpful when learning .
Another skill you are taught in college is interpersonal skills. You learn how to interact with students properly, and more importantly in situations where it's tough. For instance, your fellow classmates may not always have the same opinion on things as you do but you respect their views and keep an open mind. These skills are important when you get a job as the quality of these skills define the difference between a good employee and a great one. It shows you're able to put aside differences and get the job
One who has earned a college degree is prepared to obtain a job or career, furthermore their knowledge is more advanced. There are no statistics needed to prove that a person with a college education tends to excel in life, above a person whose education only reached high school. Among a survey, “74% say their college education was very helpful in helping them grow intellectually; 69% say it was very useful in helping them grow and mature as a person;

As of Fall 2012, I decided to withdraw completely from college because I reasoned that if I had no motivation to be in college, there is genuinely no point in taking courses. It is in my character that I should either put all of my effort into something or I shouldn’t.
As with many students I think I would like to do over my early high school years. This is not due to this moment of my life being lackluster or full of disappointment or any of those stigmas. My reason for wanting to redo my early years is quite different. The truth is that I want to redo this part of my life so that I am able to leave a bigger impact on those around me and possibly better myself as well. I am not at all disappointed in my performance in school, however, like anyone, I would just like to think if I did stuff differently, I could I have brought more benefits unto myself and possibly others as well, both directly and indirectly. I like to think that everyone is interconnected in a way to where one person’s action partially dictate
The is one major problem with learning vocational skills in high school is that they are too specific for students who have not decided what they want to do with their futures yet. Teaching students academic skills in high school gives them all the choice in the world to what they want to be. Learning academic skills gives students a well rounded education for whatever they want to go on to do. Even when students go to a university to
I would have also made a greater effort to know myself. To figure out what I really wanted to do with my life. I recently got asked by my brother why in high school I used to take classes that were preparing me for a career as a doctor.
As I continue to reevaluate my life and all that I had dreamed and hoped for myself when I reach my mid thirties, I did not think I would be still in school trying to get an education. Reflecting back on my past experiences and decisions I made I would have done a lot of things different. Life seems to bring about maturity, perseverance and determination in people and I believe at this point in my life I am determined to succeed because I have been battling a college degree on and off for the past 15years. Pretty sad to admit but reality has finally set in and I have decided that
