During my two last years of high school, i've been in contact with a lot of colleges and universities. Many of which don’t get my attention. Throughout my whole high school years, there was only one college that i wanted to go to, Liberty University. I have heard so many wonderful things about Liberty and what i loved the most was that it was a christian school. Liberty had the number one thing that i am looking for in a college, that is a christian school, but many of my other things that i look for in a college where just not there. Before coming to James Madison University I had no clue what I wanted to get involved in. Whether it was a club sport, business related group, or a social fraternity I just wanted to be apart of something that was bigger than myself. At the beginning of the school year I looked into tryouts for club baseball, the Madison Investment Fund and rush schedules for fraternities on campus. I quickly found out that club baseball wasn’t for me, at least for my freshman year. I then asked around about MIF and got the sense that you needed a very heavy Economics background and that it was very challenging to be accepted as a freshman. HELLO GUYS!!! I have something veryyyyyyyy important to tell you! After all of my stressing about FAFSA ( Free Application Federal Student Aid) , Colleges, and Transportation, I decided to further my education at Rowan University. It took me a long time to make this decision because this wasn’t my first choice! My first choice/ dream school was LIU Brooklyn ( Long Island University) in Brooklyn, New York. I was recently accepted there and planned on attending there, but their out-of-state tuition was extremely high! Their tuition was $33,000 a year and poor black man like myself, cannot afford it. I really loved LIU because it's a great school, beautiful campus, and most of all, it's in New York. I had my whole planned before it even started,

When I started Chaffey College I did not had a college major in mind. My educational plan was set up to take general education for the first two semesters. It took me a month to realize I wanted to be a Dental Assistant. There was a waiting list for the program, but, fortunately I could obtain all the documents need it to be qualified. Now, my education plan is set up to graduate from Chaffey College by 2018. I will end up with an Associate Degree as a Register Dental Assistant. My education plan was set up to graduate in less than 3 years with the best experience and knowledge I could get. Being in college had made me increase my education goal, not only will I get a career in the Dental field but I will continue to become a mathematics teacher

The saying goes “if you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it is yours forever. If it doesn't, then it never was yours at all.” This past fall semester I had to set myself free from the one place I loved to be the most and that was Millersville University. Millersville has been a place that I can whole heartedly call home. From the view of Miller and S’ville at the pond to walking through the SMC to being welcomed by all who see you on campus. I even loved my classes for I had professors who put everything into their teaching and wanted the best for their students. I had to give it all away this past semester and it hurt me so bad.

On September 14th, Temple University welcomed a very incredible lady, Wanda Benventti. Benvenutti is a photojournalist, writer, and photo editor. However, most importantly she is a woman that truly loves and is passionate about her Puerto Rican culture. I had the opportunity to watch her present her project, that she has been working on for 18 years. My goal as a journalist, is to become a photojournalist. Therefore, meeting Benvenutt gave me a sense of hope, that one day I will become a successful photojournalist. Watching her pictures flow by on the screen, gave me a sense of inspiration.

What? What happened? Elder law attorney and estate planning JD. Erin Miller explained what her job consists of working with elderly adults during an interview in class. She is certified as an Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation. She is a graduate of York College PA, and she majored in Chemistry, which I find her (pg.7) life transition fascinating! I admire her career path from science to law, and now helping elderly people which in my opinion shows benevolence towards older adults. Looking at how hard it is to become a lawyer by going to grad school and taking your LSAT’s is hard enough. A good law school emphasizes much more than academics. The experiential education offered by Michigan Law can help me apply theories I learn from class to practice. The classroom based practice stimulations and upper-level clinics can develop my ability to solve real world problems and professionalism, which are important for my future career. Moreover, I can gain experience as a law student through externship opportunities. Michigan Law also has an exceptionally diverse student body. As I sat on the couch getting ready for the first day back at school, I heard the phone in the kitchen ring. I stood up to go answer it and I heard loud footsteps coming down the stairs. My mother was running down the stairs to answer it just in case it was one of her work calls. I noticed that her voice started to crack as if she was going to cry and the smile that she once had on her face had disappeared. The person on the other end of the phone was my Uncle Dylan from California calling to let us know that Aunt Liz had died in a car wreck. We were so devastated but little did we know she left me $12k. A couple days later I received a letter in the mail saying that I had to use it to help pay for my tuition. I am looking to attend the nursing program at Lindenwood, Missouri State, or St. Louis University.

University of Michigan is known worldwide (my cousins in Europe have heard of the University) as it is one of the most esteemed schools in the United States and the opportunities that the university provides is virtually interminable. The entirety of University of Michigan contains so many traits that would challenge me in more ways than none and these challenges would increase my enjoyment throughout my years in the college. The notion of living in the 6th largest city in Michigan, Ann Harbor, and challenging myself academically and socially are a few of the many examples that cause me to desire to attend University of Michigan. The solid set of skills I have amassed through my volunteer, professional and academic career all have equipped me with the drive, work ethic, and capability to succeed in law school. I felt anxious about attending RU. Now that I have been here a week I am feeling motivated. Living close to campus gives me the ability to be completely immersed in the college lifestle, therefore, allowing me to have the chance to join various clubs and the chance to use the many resources that will advance my academic career. Being able to join a club here at Rutgers will help me be able to feel like a Rutgers student. The amount of opportunities this school has is endless, and I plan on taking full advantage of such benefits.

Attending the University of Michigan is, without a doubt, one of the best decisions I have ever made. My classes have forced me to grow as a student and have undoubtedly presented an intellectual challenge that I had not previously experienced in my academic career; however, when choosing where to pursue my bachelor’s degree, I did not initially evaluate the financial cost that this would place upon both my parents’ and my shoulders. Between my sister, a recent University of Michigan graduate, and I both attending this institution as out of state students, you can imagine the collective financial strain that this has placed upon all of our shoulders. If you add on the cost of my aspirations for medical school, the cost of my higher education
