Last spring when I began a Landscaping Business an old friend from high school who was knowledgeable about landscaping needed a job. He ended up being a great worker and every one of the clients were happy with his expertise, A few months, he came to me and said that after fall cleanup he was moving to the Burlington area. I was extremely upset I knew it would be hard able to replace such a talented person. My wheels were turning in the matter of what it would take to make him want to stay. We sat down together and I asked “What might it take to keep you from moving. He took a long look at me and said "It is something I have been wanting to do for a while now. I knew right then and there this was not going to be simple. I just said" I will
At the young age of __, I would watch my my mom leave and then come home glistening, talking about everything she had learned at Michaels craft store. I decided that I wanted to participate as well and begged my mother to allow me to accompany her. When I first got there I did not know what to expect. Our instructor was teaching us the wonders of fondant and how to maneuver it into different forms. I was so intrigued, how could something so plain and boring be transformed into such beautiful petals, roses, trucks and more. My small hands could not do the same things as my mother. I would see my mother do everything with little to no effort as I practically killed every rose the instructor asked me to make. My hands were not delicate nor kind to the fondant, but instead I would accidentally ruin every petal I attempted making.
My legacy began when my family taught me to read. My mom and grandma took turns teaching me different letters and sounds out of an early reader. By the time I reached kindergarten, I read well enough to strengthen my skills on my own. My favorite author from kindergarten was Eric Carle. I brought home Brown Bear Brown Bear so many times that my mother told me I was not allowed to read it again.
Eighty hours in one week. A goal which all of my peers insisted I was crazy for even attempting. To the normal working class forty hours is a long week, yet I wanted to double that in only seven days. Working in a muffler shop is hard work, which made eighty hours Mount Everest, and I was determined to reach the summit.
Throughout high school, I continuously explored a wide variety of courses in an attempt to figure out what career path I may want to pursue. As senior year drew closer, the business field became more enticing. Furthermore, my aspirations were significantly impacted on the evening of September 14, 2016. I woke up that day and left for school as if it were any other day. After school, I drove to the softball field because we had a game and it just so happened to be Senior Night: the last home game. When it came time for my first at bat, I stepped up to the plate and hit a line drive between the first and second basemen, successfully making it to first base. The next player up to bat hit a double; I rounded second and sprinted for third. I clearly remember my coach kneeling on the ground to signal me to slide into third base. For some unknown reason, I hesitated and slid too late. I knew it was a bad slide, but I was focusing on whether or not I was safe. Then reality set in, I was safe, but I was not physically capable of standing up.
When I was fourteen years old, my grandpa showed me how to start my own painting and landscaping business. Starting my own business showed me how to work hard for my money and that if I wanted something, I had to work hard for it. I never had anything handed to me. Everything I have, comes from me. When I turned sixteen, I applied and got a job at In-N-Out Burger. I work thirty hours a week while going to school full time so that I can pay for my education. I was able to do this and stay out of student loans for my first two years at Pima Community College. Now that I have graduated with my Associates Degree in business, I have to move on to the University of Arizona. My financial situation is a lot more difficult now that my tuition went from five hundred a semester to around six thousand.
On Tuesday 18th, 2017 I interviewed Elizabeth Surprenant the systems Administrator for B. F. Saul Company & Affiliates (Real State Company). Before I decided to interview her, I first targeted the type of occupation that I want to know more information. Economics my targeted major. Due to my interest in economics, I decided to interview Ms. Surprenant, who has a bachelor degree in Accounting and she doubled major in economics. There were 2 degrees of separation between this Ms. Surprenant and me. I contacted her via email and set up a meeting to discuss some details about her occupation.
This day was busy, but I was able to help out more by checking patients in and checking them out this time around. Felt a lot more comfortable with the system and interacting with the clients and their pets. This was my last day working in the front, I enjoyed working with Leonore and the rest of the staff in the front but, I am very excited to work in the back to get hands on experience working with the technician’s and the doctor’s.
I would be an outstanding student in Spelman College's faculty classes because I am hard worker. My work has always came first even when I had experienced a big transition in my life I didn't allow that to stop me from doing my work. My work was always a outlet for me to express myself and to show my teachers how I really think. For instance, in my English Composition Class we read a poem called "I Want A Wife by Judy Brady" then we read a book named "Fences by August Wilson", and one day we were in class discussing the poem in the book and it shocked my teacher when I made the connection between the two. I thought my teacher made us read "I want a wife" because in the book "Fences" the main character named Troy expected everything in that
We Three Kings Daycare was the venue in which I chose to complete my field work. Luckily for me, my mom is one of the employees and so gaining access, setting up a theme, date, and time was one of the easier aspects of this project. The group, my mom, is typically responsible for ranges from 8-11 children ages six through eight. Due to the slightly older age group I was working with. I forego beginning with a song partly because I could not find anything relatable to my theme, and also because I planned on doing my story time after they had come in from playing outside. I figured outdoor play would be enough exertion to keep the jitters at bay. Gathering everyone in a circle, I introduced myself and had everyone go around and tell me their
I have learnt many skills helping me day with work pouring concrete and laboring for block layers. First let me give you a little background. My dad was worked as a bricklayer since he was sixteen. He has done the same type of work for most of his life, and that's where I come in. My first job was in the summer of 2012 My dad asked me if I wanted to go along and help him with a side job he had going. I said sure and we headed out around nine o'clock. Our first job was to replace a concrete pad and stairs for this house that was up for sale. We had to set up forms for the concrete, and pour it. I learned how to oil up forms so the concrete didn't stick.
When I moved to Boston 13 years ago, I knew I had arrived somewhere special. I immediately loved the brick sidewalks and cobblestone streets in Beacon Hill. I was impressed with the massive scale of the homes in Back Bay and I enjoyed walking through the perfectly manicured Public Garden. With only superficial knowledge of Boston’s rich history and culture, I quickly became captivated by my new environment. I was fascinated by the “lavenders”, which are purple tinted glass windows in the old brownstones of Beacon Hill. initially, these windows weren’t a stylistic choice, but a mistake made by the glass manufacturer in the mid-1800s. I thought it amazing that a piece of glass could survive all these years and appreciated that it was unique
Harmony Farms has been an incredible influential place in my life. For most of my life when I was asked what I wanted to do as a career I never had a solid answer. On any given day I might have told one person that I wanted to be a zoologist or a veterinarian, then I would turn to a different person and say I want to be a doctor or a surgeon. Every time I said a different career it never felt right, deep down it felt like something was missing. That was until I started my work at Harmony Farms.

Better Living Industries took over in the fall of 2012 right after Halloween. They seemed to think they deserved full control after extinguishing massive fires. They slipped a bunch of Better Living Pills into the kids candy, the kids were then taken and told to give the pills to their parents without them knowing. The pills were to get rid of “unwanted emotions and to strengthen the body,” once the parents took the pills, everything went downhill. We were struggling to maintain our planet but after the pills were consumed, everyone was brainwashed to think Better Living Ind. was the best thing to happen to us. I might be one of the only people who saw pasted the pills, i didn’t go trick or treating that year, I went to my best friend Anna’s house and we stayed in and
I have worked for a major retail store for the past 10 years. For the last three years before the Christmas holidays, they have announced that some stores will be closing. I have customers who prefer to shop in the stores to see the items first before they make a purchase. Yes, I have had customers come into the store just to see the items but then wanted to complete the order at home. I think I have convenience half of the customers to order in the store instead of online. We have the buy online and pickup in stores option when customers buy items on our website. Every department has ipads to show customers items we do not have in the store but can order for them. I think as a retail store we have to think of other ways to keep customers
