My family has always been very musical and I wanted to see if I had any musical abilities, so I joined the violin group in Forest Grove during the third grade. I played the violin for one year then I took a break to wait to play in the orchestra at Tom McCall. Once in the 5th grade, there were around 20 violinists, including me and one bass player. I noticed that we needed cellos and violas, so I decided to change to the cello and see if I would enjoy that instrument better. Soon after, 2 other cellists joined me in the cello position and have been with me ever since then. There names are Noe Alverez and Daniel Gomez. During the summer going into the 6th grade, my dad wanted me to take private lessons with my dad’s mentor
In sixth grade I decided to join band at the middle school. This made a difference in my life because it would decide which friends I would have in middle school. So every Thursday and Friday after school I would ride the bus to the middle school just to play band. The instrument I played was the trumpet because it looks easy to play I mean come on it only has three buttons. The first day of playing it I got one very unsteady note out. I wanted to get better so I practised at home mostly everyday to sound better.
I was introduced to the Viola during fifth grade by joining my middle school’s orchestra. Playing the viola has sparked my passion in learning other instruments. Prior to high school I played the viola, violin, and cello. During my sophomore year, I joined a rock band class where I learned how to play the bass and incorporated the viola into rock music.
Tonya, my sister, was the first to join band in school, making me feel expected to join in sixth grade. I played the clarinet all the way through eighth grade until freshman year ;unfortunately, I struggled through the beginning and made the decision to quit. Rejoining has given my some of the best memories of my
I also took violin lessons in fifth and sixth grade, but I don’t think that counts anymore. I currently play guitar and ukulele.
Like most during grade school, I was exposed to a number of different musical instruments. My older
When I was in ninth grade, I was in a string orchestra playing the violin. I had been playing for nearly six years at
My sixth grade year was the most significant year of schooling for me. A few weeks into school, and not knowing anyone in my classes, I decided to talk to the school band director to find potential in me playing an instrument. At the time, I didn’t know anyone in band; I just wanted to become apart of it.
Music has been and is a very important aspect of my life, and I demonstrate my passion for it with the viola. I had never been able to own a personal viola due to financial and need based situations and so I grew accustomed to school offered instruments. This did not refrain me from challenging myself with various music opportunities.
First off, I joined orchestra classes at my school (Boardman Glenwood) and I am currently playing the violin. I think it’s pretty fun, especially we weeded the bad kids out. We have around 20 kids in our class now, and it’s like a little group.
When I was in seventh grade, I joined the school band. I thought about what instrument I should play, and decided to play the clarinet. I started playing in school and discovered that I had a slight talent for it.
I started learn violin when i was four. I still remember the first time i heard the fascinating sound from a street artist. The sound came out from violin in his hand was full with his energy, that makes you can clearly feel what is he trying to tell you from the song. It's that moment i told my self that i have to know how to play this "small guitar" and i want be just as good as the street artist and i was four. After that everytime when i see a violin artist playing or on tv i always stop doing whatever in my hand, just watch them performance. lucky my parents are so supportive. They bought my first violin for me as a Christmas gift, its the best Christmas gift i ever seen. The violin got a good frash Orange collor and when under the light
From the age of five years old, I have been classically trained in the violin. As a young, homeschooled girl, the activities I did were generally varied and short lived. Kayaking, Swiming, Brazilian Jui Jitsu, Piano, and Ballet were all small parts of my tiny life that came and went and took the people I met with them. But Violin has been a constant.
Violin Playing: I started the violin with Anatole Wieck and have continued my studies with Trond Saeverud since he joined Bangor Symphony Orchestra. I have been playing at the University Orchestra at the University of Maine, as well as the Passamaquoddy Bay Symphony Orchestra. I have been playing in an amateur string quartet for several years.
When I was in fifth grade, I was caught between two worlds, playing a woodwind or string instrument. If I played a woodwind instrument, I would have to blow in it to make music, but string instruments consist of playing with a bow to make music. After much thought, I decided that the violin was the best instrument due to its beautiful, unique sound, plus the possibilities are never-ending. I could receive a compliment from a teacher, or even be accepted to the symphony.
I am a part of my school’s concert band, jazz band, basketball band, and marching band. I am first chair oboe in the concert band, I play piano in jazz band, and I am front ensemble leader for
