For as long as I can remember I have been designing and then building the ideas that I think of. As my education has grown my ability to refine my planning and drawing skills has made my ideas come to life. When I was younger, I had a fascination with everything mechanical, and liked to take things apart. In college, I have had the pleasure of taking Auto CAD classes which have enhanced my planning skills, allowing me to design better plans and even a few floor plans. I hear Cal Poly Pomona has a great Engineering Department and I think I would be a good fit. To this day, I still have a fascination with everything mechanical. Once I was old enough to use the tools, I started building things and there was no turning back. I am into BMX bikes
The hundreds of things I experienced during my time at Lone Star College have forever changed my life. Every professor and student I encountered helped shape me into the person I am today. In high school, I would constantly struggle with my work and dreaded going to class. The moment I graduated high school I was given two options, go to college or move out of the house. Considering that it would be impossible to support myself fresh out of high school, college was my only option. I started off thinking college was a waste of time but I was dead wrong. Lone Star College gave my life guidance and skills that have contributed to my success.
Hello I am Rey Rodriguez, and I’m still currently a bit undecided on what I’m majoring in. I love teaching and all things entertainment such as acting, singing, and production so I may start looking towards a major in which I can do a little bit of it all. I’m looking into hopefully transferring to Cal State Northridge or possibly Cal State Long Beach by next fall.Sociology has always been a subject I have found very interesting so I’m hoping on furthering what I already know and look forward to learning things I didn't know. A big part of me is music, I’m constantly listening to music or singing to myself. I enjoy going to live shows and concerts that is definitely a big hobby of mine, I also enjoy just hanging out and going out to eat with
Twenty-six years ago. I began the quest to find the perfect college. As I drove down the driveway of Bay Path College, I knew this was the college I was going to attend. I was drawn to the rural setting, the beautiful campus and the small academic community. My intent for life after high school was to get my associates degree, earn some money, then begin working toward my bachelor degree. In retrospect, I did not possess the confidence or drive needed to be a good student. I struggled for the next couple of years to earn my Associates degree, however was apprehensive to commit to the time or expense it would take to continue my education. After a very long break in schooling, I now approach education with a new mindset and ready to commit
I would be lying if I said Rock Valley College was my first choice when it came down to choosing a place to continue my studies. Then again, like many others students, I didn’t have a
My decision to attend Trinity Valley Community College was influenced by two primary objectives. One was to conserve funds, as this is one of the most useful features of community colleges. The second objective was to maintain a 4.0 GPA. This is where I failed.
Wellesley College is an extraordinary college that provides all I could ever seek in a college. It has various majors to choose from, extraordinary interactions with professors and students, and an inspirational atmosphere full of great women from various backgrounds. I never knew that such college would have all the preferences I wanted. The more I learned about Wellesley the more I realized that this is a true college in which I could work in and get to where I want to be. As the first in my family to go to college it is vital for me to remain true to myself and empower myself as a hispanic woman. Education is essential to everyone, but to me I believe is a way in which I could represent my capacity. Though there is
On Thursday, August 20th 2015 I was accepted into College of Southern Nevada. On Friday, August 21st, 2015 I arrived onto the CSN West Charleston Campus at around seven o'clock in the morning to be one of the first people to take the math, reading, and writing placement tests for the day. After I took the placement tests, I went to the Student Recruitment office and spoke to a woman named Kimiko Walton. I told Kimiko about what happened to me and she recruited me. Afterwards, I purchased my textbooks from the bookstore (a typical mistake made by college freshmens). As I existed the double doors of the CSN bookstore, I told myself: "Nobody can give me the life I deserve expect myself..." On
Looking back at my life to where I am now. I can honestly admit if I did not come to Community College my life would have been different. Here at community college I have made the most out of my experience I not only saved a significant amount of money but, furthermore I have grown not only with myself but with my grades as well. I struggled with a numerous of things in high school. However here at college I actually took the time to listen and observe. I have made friends and individuals that I can honestly call my family. I have taken the initiative to progress in my chosen fields.
Well my journey starts out just like most high schoolers. I graduated for high school in May of 2012. I got ready to start my next chapter in my life at Iowa Central Community College. I had no clue what I was going to major in. I knew only one thing that I wanted to play football in college, and get my education payed for free. Also I wanted to make it to the highest level in football to play at the FBS level. Some things I had to do to reach that goal where be a good football player as well as a great student. I shortly figured out that I was going to just do essential studies and graduate.
After recently graduating from Fullerton College with two associate degrees in psychology, I could have not accomplished this goal all by myself without the proper guidance that I received from EOPS and FYSI at the time. These programs were established to support former foster youth at Fullerton College in their education as long as they met all the conditions for each semester. As a result, this was valuable for me during my time as a community college student, allowing me to guarantee that I would finish all my requirements on time to transfer to a good university, and becoming more involved with the campus each semester. That being said, this is one of the main reasons as to why I am applying to your program, so I could receive the support
There have been multiple experiences that I have had that would make me succeed at Penn State University. One experience is when I moved across the country. My freshman year I really struggled in high school. It was a big change and did not take it seriously enough. Then sophomore year came and I got a hang of it, but then I was hit with big news. My father tells me, in January, that we are moving to Scottsdale, Arizona In March. I was upset and shocked at first but then was really excited for this new experience. The worst part was leaving my mom, sisters, and grandparent’s all behind in New York. When I got there, I did not have any friends and was scarred about the change in school and the curriculum. After a while, I got the hang of it,
In light of being denied the Federal Pell Grant from applying for the FAFSA, I will now rely upon grants from scholarships I have been applying for. Along with my own money from future jobs and my family's contributions to my education. For the past year and still continuing, I have received money from my family in order to save up for college. Money that I received during daily responsibilities around the house. No matter the quantity, due to the fact that I am unemployed. For the reason that I have been entirely focusing on my high school education since I am still in High School and in the ACE Program. Nevertheless, I plan to obtain a job in the near future to aid my education in Chandler-Gilbert Community College. Whether that job is in
they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please
1. What experience do you like talking about the most? What has been the most interesting, intriguing, and exciting part of your life- why, and what did you learn from it?
Growing up in life, I have had many different interests in terms of hobbies. Most every hobby I have come across and enjoyed quickly faded from my interest. But one hobby specifically has peaked my interest over the past few years and I continuously am engaged and working at this almost on a daily level. This hobby has been the fabrication of parts using a CAD software and 3d printing them. I've mostly been designing simple parts to help with everyday life such as cable management loops, parts for drones, and the occasional useless knick-knack type of design. In the next few paragraphs, we will dive deeper into the process and motivation of my hobby.
