Aunt Joy woke me up by spraying everyone with apple juice. She can be nice when she wants to but she is also really mean. I share a room with 3 girls; Elizabeth, Jane and Poppy. My friend is Poppy but Elizabeth and Jane always bully me. Out of both of them who do I hate? Both of them. They always bully me because my mum had me at a really young age. “Wakey wakey, rise and shine,” sang Aunt Joy throwing pillows everywhere. “Your social workers are coming so wear something smart and clean this room,” Aunt Joy continued. My social worker is called Abigail she is really nice and friendly because she gives me sweets, buys me the latest clothes and branded shoes. She is also very easy to talk to. Today I am wearing a black pencil skirt, pink blouse and some Nike air forces. I am going …show more content…
Poppy ordered a triple chocolate cookie and a bacon roll. The lady that served us was neat and helpful and was really friendly to us. By the time Poppy and I finished eating we had 2 hours left so we first went to the park. When we had finished at the park, we entered Greggs, I bought orange juice and a sausage roll, so also did Poppy. When we had finished enjoying our self at Berry Lane. We went home and Poppy appointment had just started. I still had to wait for 30 minutes. I spent that half an hour stealing Elizabeth and Jane’s clothes and putting them in secret places. I am sitting outside Aunt Joy’s office and my social worker is inside talking with Aunt Joy. I have to wait for five minutes and it is going to be the most terrifying five minutes of my life. The door opened and my heart started to pound. “Rosie it’s your turn,” said Aunt Joy, as Poppy left the room. I entered nervously and Abigail ushered me into a seat. “Rosie I have some amazing news for you it could actually change your life,” explained Abigail. “Really! What?” I replied
Throughout our lives, we all make sacrifices in order to achieve our goals or to help others achieve their goals. For some, this may mean sacrificing friendships or family time, or for others it may mean sacrificing money and other dreams which may also be of great importance to us. A person who has made many sacrifices in order to achieve their aspirations or goals is someone with strength, determination and masses of will-power, and it is someone who is not prepared to give up on their dream.
Lauren and the others in her group are in a new situation; they have to survive out of the walls. Lauren said, "Everyone who's surviving out here knows things that I need to know... I'll watch them, I'll listen to them, and I'll learn from them. If I don't, I'll be killed. And like I said, I intend to survive" (Butler 173). She's always focused on adapting to new situations - but one key to that is learning from others and bringing a group together to support each other.
“Thank you. It scares me to think I might be going to jail. I can’t be in there with those dirty people,” Louise said, hugging herself ready to cry.
I have raised my voice for, and will continue to raise my voice for, people less fortunate than myself. More specifically however, I often stand up for and help my autistic older sister, Abby. Ever since I can remember, I have felt obligated to fulfill my duty as a "little-big brother", because she is older than me. Whether it be taking her to school, taking her to baseball games, or playing "Dogoply" with her, I have tried to imprint a positive attitude on her so that she can continue to grow into an even greater person than she already is. One time after a football game junior year, I was hanging out with my classmates when the topic of Abby came up. They all talked about how they were the best of friends with her and how they loved her. Sure, all of
In my thirteen years of schooling I have studied under more than fifty teachers, all of which have dropped a coin or two into my academic piggy bank. But, when I think of a person who has had an important influence on my life, one name stands out in my mind more than others: Mrs.Cox. This woman was one of a kind! As both my second and third grade teacher, Mrs.Cox had two full years to fill my head with the wonders of science, math, reading, and writing. Within this time frame she taught me with strategies I had never seen before and ultimately helped me gain an in-depth understanding of the core subjects in a way that made me realize that with unwavering focus and commitment I could master anything I was given.
My full name is Lauren Elisabeth Stuteville and I attend Antioch High School in the 9th grade. I am 14 years old and my birthday is April 23, 2001, which means my zodiac sign, is a Taurus. I have one older sister that is three years older than me, whose name is Brooke, and is a senior in high school. She is 17 years of age, and will turn 18 on April 18th, and we hang out all the time, therefore, she is a big inspiration to me. My parents became divorced when I was in the seventh grade. Also, I have one dog, whose name is Sam, and is a black Labrador mixed with a Rottweiler. I have had her since she was a puppy at three months, and she is now five years old, and will be six on September 18th. One of my favorite things to do is cheerleading.
Sister Muriel, who was also my grandmother, and who I affectionately referred to as granny, was a bit more tired than usual on the eve of December 10, 1958. She headed to the Sisters' dorm a little earlier than usual. She climbed the stairs and enjoyed the cool breeze that blew against her face. That night she felt reflective about the good times with her husband. She missed him. However, the quiet, cool evening allowed her to sleep restfully, that is—until she was jarred awake and saw the entire building lit up around each of the bunks. Muriel’s daughter Barbara, who is also my mother, was on the bunk above. She expressed how beautiful the light was on the hill. By this time the whole dorm was awake. Although it may have seemed beautiful to Barbara, my grandmother Muriel, was
One of my favorite teachers would have to be my pre-first teacher Mrs. Spence. She was one of the coolest teachers ever. I felt as though was her favorite student because I was the one that always volunteered to do things on the board, set up chairs, pass out papers and etc. we had this thing on her board, it was like the good noodle board but with stars. My best friend at the moment, Ruthie Ross, we both had the most stars out of the entire pre-first class. It was everything to me. I knew I had to get it. This day in particular I remember. Sydney and I decided to go inside to use the “potty” also known as the restroom. We ended up making a pit stop, we went into Mrs. Spence’s classroom got onto her big chair, stood up in it, I got into her makeup bag and took out her bright red lipstick and I “the bright one” out of the group decided to put it all over my lips and kiss
September 9, 2015, a baby is born. With black hair, brown eyes, and the face of an angle, she was wrapped in a two blankets and pajamas. The name on the certificate, Elizabeth, and she is born 5 inches tall, weighs 6 ounces, and has a perfectly round head, she looks like a turtle as she stretches her neck. We call her our little lizard, but to be honest she looks more like turtle than a lizard any day. The hospital I go to, to see little lizard, smells like soap and hand sanitizer, it brings back memories of a moment in time 2 years ago when I walked down the same hospital corridors to see my area 51 baby, Evelynne. As I walk down the same hallway to the same room where I first saw my Evelynne I am reminded of a responsibility, a responsibility
The last week has been pretty rough and crazy. I made one wrong move after another thinking that there were no consequences to my actions; I was wrong. On the fourth of July, I was only trying to help you out, but I see now that all I did was try to control the situation and not be in my place. I thought what I was doing was best, but I learned the hard way that you are a strong and independent girl, and you are capable of anything you set your mind to.
“I’ll always remember the good deeds Mrs. Jones did to help get back up on my feet. I used the ten dollars she gave me to buy my blue suede shoes shoes, to slowly become a doctor. I have a good life now, all of it because of what Mrs. Jones did for me when I was a little boy.”
[Chapter ten, page 298. In the original scene Jacob, Emma, Bronwyn, and Enoch have been locked in the ice house with a hollowgast. In the following revision, a character based off myself will appear. Therefore, the scene’s point of view will be my own.]
Looking back at my education, school wasn't as important to me as it should have been. My favorite teachers at the time were teachers who let me get by. Now that I'm mature and wiser, I now know that those types of teachers were not suitable teachers. The teachers that I ostracized were in fact the more suitable teachers and they only wanted the best for me. Of those suitable teachers there is only one who still has an impact on my life and her name is Mrs. Brantley. Mrs. Brantley is distinct from many other teachers. She is a teacher whose main and only focus is the success of her students.
I am a very interesting child. As you may know, it is a rare occasion that I leave my room and let alone my house. You may think I am forced to stay inside, this is partly true, but actually, it is my decision; I want to stay inside. Well, I guess when I was younger I got into some trouble at school and my father forced me to stay inside but that was long ago. I just find that the outside world is very unfair and in many ways corrupt. Staying in my room gets pretty boring sometimes but I get to see what I want with the bonus of not being involved in the unfair society.
My heart was pounding as I pictured her reaction in my head. This gift was going to make her so happy the bell rang my heart jumped and I raced for my car meeting Emma who will be helping me get this gift. Quickly, we arrived at the mall where I was introduced to my wallets nightmare. Sephora, where you can get the best make up anywhere sat right in front of me. I dove in and Emma as she showed me the basis of a girls needs for make up. I learned that it's not just a stick and brush, but a whole entire system just to make your eye look different. After each jaw dropping price I finally made my decision on the Tarte palette something that she would love so much. Also, adding in a few more brushes and creams and some fake eyelashes I was all
