My trip to dallas Have you ever been to Dallas Texas, I have, and it was fun. Me and my family came. We stayed there for a week, at my aunt's house. It was very beautiful where she lived, trees all around, the sun shined early morning. When we first came, it was dark, so we went to sleep. Early in the morning the sun shined in our eyes. We got up and tiredly went to the kitchen to grab something to eat. There was a room full of exotic birds. My aunt went to her work at a flea market, she sold exotic birds like parrots, and cockatoos.I help her sell them. When we were halfway done we went to explore around the market, and then we saw roller coasters. We decided to go on them. Just for ten dollars the for bracelets, so we got
After days of convincing my mom that I was a responsible adult, I finally had her permission to go out of town for the first time without. This year for Spring Break me and two of my friends decided to go on a trip to visit our friend Steven in Houston. It's a long drive from Laredo to Houston, about 6 hours, but we unknowingly made it an 8 hour long trip.
This year’s family vacation was one for the books. With my aunt living in Tennessee, we do not get together as often as we would like so my family decided to go to Nashville, Tennessee. When we started our trip, it was 6 a.m. and it was nothing short of fun and laughter along the way. Never having been to Tennessee before, I figured I’d enjoy the eight-hour ride of sight-seeing and laughter with my family. When we were a few miles into the trip, the mountains of Georgia were breathtaking. While I was enjoying the scenery, another thing that I found enjoyable about this trip was the conversation that I had with my family. We went on talking about life in general, all the struggles, and childhood memories that we had. We even talked about years
I am not from San Antonio. I am not from Texas. I’m from California. Where no one twangs, or drawls, or even says hi to the stranger standing in line at the grocery store. Texas, half way across the U.S and what seems like a whole other country compared to California. It is a completely different place that I could have ever imagined living and calling home. I came to Texas to find myself. I didn’t know that when I came here, but it is what ended up happening.
I had so much fun when me, my sister and my momma took a trip to South Carolina. We was originally going just to go to my brothers graduation from basic training, but ended up doing more than we expected. We had a rough trip on the way to his graduation. By trouble I mean our truck broke down in Atlanta, GA. Since the truck didn't make it all the way there, we got a hotel room in Atlanta. We woke up the next day and went to explore since we was already in Atlanta and I haven't never been before. We first went to find something to eat, but didn't know where anything was at so we asked around. One man said we should go to the Underground Atlanta food court. This is shopping and entertainment district in downtown Atlanta. It was a lot of food
I grew up in two very different communities, El Paso, Texas and Olney, Maryland. I spent the first ten years of my life in El Paso, which being home to a military base, was a community with strong military support. For the past seven years, I have lived in Olney, Maryland, a small town with families that have known each other for generations. No one really moves to Olney, most families have deeply established roots here, so when I moved to Olney when I was 10, I was very much an outsider. El Paso was fairly limited to El Paso as far as short trips, but in Olney you can be to D.C or Virginia in about an hour; there is always something new to do. Although Olney and El Paso are quite different, they have both instilled a common value in me, take
Kat held on tight to the chuck wagon’s seat. Its heavy wheels whipped down Farlow’s front street, bouncing with such a calamity the townsfolk scattered for their safety.
After growing up in Memphis, Tennessee, I did not know much about the rest of the country. My family would venture into North Carolina or Florida for various summer vacations, however, I often felt stuck in the “Memphis bubble.” I attended my first year of college at Rhodes College, which was located near my house. That year forced me to realize that I have a desire to experience different cultures and perspectives, and as a result, I decided to transfer to TCU. Fort Worth has provided a drastically different culture that I appreciate, but I still want to experience life in California, Colorado, the Pacific Northwest, the Northeast, and abroad after I graduate college. It is a goal of mine to spend time in every part of the country and visit
In 1718 Spanish missionaries founded Texas taking it as a Spanish territory. Many whites started to go to Texas and began to take over. In March 1836 Texans revolted against their Spanish rule and declared their independence from Spain. Texas then became an independent nation, but Texas could not protect themselves from the Spanish attacks. On December 29th, 1845, after almost 10 years of waiting to be accepted into the United states, Texas became part of the United States.
My story actually begins here in El Paso and has continued its course here as well. I was born and raised in El Paso and have been living here ever since. The most further back I can remebr of my child hood was when I started Elementar school at Clendenin. I mostly remember how I wanted to help friends or people that I could when i was younger but as a kid you really could not do that to well. As i grew up that feeling still was there but at this time I just felt like being an architect. Everything changed when I was in middle school and around the time Halo Reach the Xbox game came out. I was at a friends house playing games late and lost track of time, it was 12 and way past my curfew. His parents had left but I did need to get back home so I left walking home.
As summer concluded the new school year approached, senior year. Not only was this year going to be full of surprises, but also stress about college planning and admission. Having moved to three different high schools I was excited to finally settle at Coppell and graduate in Texas. Even though this location was new to me I was satisfied with how well I fit in. I then decided to apply to schools around Dallas. The University of Dallas offers not only the class-size I was looking for the but also the academic standards and location I was hoping for. The university is very close to my home town as both are located in Irving. Having moved around to multiple schools within my educational career attending a local college would be essential to
I was born in raised in Los Angeles and moved to San Antonio when i was 12. For a better living with my family.I moved to San Antonio in 2011 but i was very excited to try new things and make more freinds. It was over a month when i moved to San Antonio and i started to miss california so much.but that didn't stop me from trying new things.Since i live a in a community my neighbors are right next door from me,and since we lived next door from each other we would help out each other. I started to get just to the new environment that i was living in and i started to like it a lot because it was calm and i started to like my middle school and the fact that was making a lot of friends. My family taught me to always try new things and not be
From what I can remember my life began in Houston. I was born in Charleston, West Virginia, but moved to Houston before I turned two. I have an older brother and an older sister. I grew up in the Clear Lake area, and stayed there until I finished high school. My family is Catholic, so my parents raised me to be a person that follows the rules and tries to adhere to a moral code. While living in Houston there were relatively strict rules when I was younger that have since faded away. For example, they used to limit drinking pop by only the family drink it on Fridays and Saturdays, and we were only allowed to drink three cans each day. Although they had pretty clear ideas on how we should act, there was not much open communication about politics.
It was time to take Micah to Nashville and get direction for our son. A few nights before we left I was up all night. I spent time seeking God about our situation. My heart was broken and my despair was without words, but God was there, and as always He directed me. He reminded me about the time when Miranda had the chicken pox. She was just over a year old and Micah had just turned three. Micah was determined he would not get them. I was positive he would. One day in the shower God moved on my heart to pray Micah would not get the chicken pox. I felt it was crazy to ask God to keep Micah from the chicken pox. As far as I was concerned, chicken pox was a part of childhood. After all everybody gets them. God continued to impress
One year ago this morning on April 11/2016 I arrived to Charlotte, North Carolina after four day trip on Amtrack train. From San Jose, California to Charlotte, North Carolina.
During summer break in august I went there with my grandma.some people might get a plane vasue the trip is so long but for us we drove down.It took us 3 to 4 days to finally get to where we needed to be going. It takes along time to get there only cause from driving so long you will need to rest so we went to a hotel every night and then we got something to eat for breakfast and dinner.
