Jimmy wasn’t sore and there was no heart monitor making an annoying beeping sound. Jimmy was standing in the room starring at another man who seemed to be sleeping in the hospital bed. The man looked familiar to Jimmy. Thinking he went back in time Jimmy let out a whisper, “grandpa is that you?” The man in the bed didn’t answer. In walked in two men, one doctor and one nurse. Neither of the men could see Jimmy in the hospital room with them. “Okay I’m calling it, death of Jimmy Herrera at 2:03 p.m. on August 5, 2059. Can you cover up the body?” The doctor scribbled on his clipboard while the nurse fumbled over to the body. “Oh and could you put this in the file?” The doctor handed the nurse the papers from his clipboard, “Yes doctor, …show more content…

Not knowing what to do next, Jimmy found himself walking out of the hospital and into the city. He walked to the park, then to a coffee shop, and then to his old middle school where he had just started sixth grade on August 5, 2009. Jimmy had remained unseen and unheard by everyone on the streets, just like in the hospital room. He was able to walk on the sidewalk and pass through people and cross the streets and not get hit by cars. He began walking his old normal path home from school. He wound up in the same alley he had found the watch in. Jimmy tried glancing at his watch to see that both of his wrists were bare. The watch was on the floor where he had found it. Then came loud footsteps at the opening of the alley, and Jimmy saw himself. It was eleven year old Jimmy walking home from school. After realizing it was himself, Jimmy grabbed the watch and ran behind the nearest dumpster in order to hide it from his younger self. Once he saw that eleven year old Jimmy was out of sight, he took a breath. With so much adrenaline pumping through his veins Jimmy had to relax. He had no idea what was going on, he needed to regain his thoughts. Jimmy slumped down besides the garbage can, glanced at the watch in his hand that read August 5, 2009 and began to close his
