Fall Out Boy is playing and my mom and I are screaming along with hundreds of other people. But wait, let me tell you how we got there. My mom and I went to dinner one night and she was telling me about how my stepdad’s mom, Cathy, won tickets for a Fall Out Boy concert on the radio. Automatically my mind went to “I get to see them twice!”. Then came the bad news, the concert was in Memphis. I spent the whole night trying to convince my mom to go. My stepdad said that if we could find a way to go we should. However, my mom didn’t want to go because it was far and we hadn’t planned for it. As we kept talking about it all night I finally convinced her to go. She called her boss and asked for the next day off and the next morning we left for Memphis
The car ride there is always fun, we rock out to the DJ's we well be seeing to get us pumped up for the show. Since we were three hours early to the concert; us crazy girls
Anytime one of my favorite artists come to Houston, I’m there, no matter what. I also really enjoy discovering new music and new bands and the best place for that is a music festival. Houston’s biggest music festival, Free Press Summer Festival, is an awesome way to discover some great local bands. Most of the headliners are big names like Calvin Harris, Weezer, Skrillex, and Arctic Monkeys, but those bands in small print on the festival bill are always the hidden gems and most of them are local! I’ve seen some really great electronic dance music (EDM) artists, fantastic alternative artists, (my personal favorite being The Tontons), synth-pop, soul, and the list continues. These smaller billed artists are sometimes the best part of Free Press and it’s a great way for them to get their name out there and it shows non-Houstonians (and even Houstonians) at the festival that our music scene is fantastic and continues to thrive, especially as the city flourishes. There is always something going on in Houston and everyday there are concerts at Fitzgerald’s, The Continental Club, Eldorado Ballroom, and all of the other great music venues of Houston. One night, you could go to Fitzgerald’s watch some synth-pop or alternative music then the next day you can go check out some great blues artist at Eldorado. You could then go to The Continental Club, which has so many different genres represented every day. One day there’s a Beatles cover band
I made it to the fairgrounds just in time on last Saturday to hear what I would call, the best female Bluegrass band ever.
My second concert I attended was on October 4th at 7:30pm. This concert was the Washburn University Jazz Ensembles, I went to this concert with my boyfriend, Dylan. I decided to choose to go to the Jazz concert because I have always been interested in jazz; however, I have never attended a jazz concert before. Therefore, I believe it would be an amazing date idea for me and my boyfriend to attend. Which, the jazz concert was an amazing, and fun date night idea.
My first concert I went to was ASAP Ferg in Asheville, NC. He is a multi-million-dollar rapper or artist and his performance was unreal. It was totally worth thirty-dollar ticket and a three hour long wait outside. My friends and I got up to the second row of the floor stage and it was insane. People were dancing, jumping, screaming throughout the whole performance. It felt like the building was shaking because so many people were jumping. I had a blast and would go again if he came back to Asheville to perform.
My love for concerts is beyond belief. I love music. Hip-hop and rap are mainly my favorites. I listen to them everyday to keep me up and going through my day. Going to concerts just puts me in the mood; the fact that I’m going to be able to listen to my favorite music and watch it be performed is just an exciting feeling. You may even be able to meet that artist if you’re lucky like I did. I like to go to concerts because you get to experience the artist live. You can experience some things about the artist you probably would never see on social media or television. Out of all the concerts I’ve been to, all the artists had a part in the performance when they just gave a brief speech about how thankful they are for being alive
I grew up listening to all their music that presented to me that night and it was so easy to connect with them and just get right into the show just like the rest of the audience. You could tell this huge audience was feeding off only a handful of artist and a few instruments and that how you tell that their music honestly makes a difference to people and gives people hope and joy. I am so excited for them to come back, so I can see them again. My parents have seen them all before and could not stress how amazing they all are and it was exciting to be able to experience it for myself this time. I would recommend anyone to go see them all because that music is what God is really about. It gives you something to live another day for. All of these artist have been in business forever and it was nice to see them show that it’s not about just money or the fans that its honesty about the music and haling people connect with God better. This music is just so fulfilling and amazing to listen to. It helps to make a difference in peoples lives helps connect with others and God on a whole other level people can’t understand till they try to understand what church music is really
My Signature Themes are achiever, arranger, responsibility, input, and significance. Each of these are very significant in defining my strengths and showing me how to best use my strengths in my future. My first strength was achiever and this is representing me as a whole, and is what I use in everyday life. I am a driven person who wants to accomplish many things and I visualize my life as a mountain that I will overcome every day and at the end of every day I will have a beautiful view of what I have accomplished. I use every day in events such as: relentless volunteering, working long hours and everything is done with an impeccable sense of satisfaction after completion. My second and third strengths are arranger and responsibility. These
My cousin and I finally got in and we loved the opening acts. It took them an hour to get the Twenty One Pilot equipment ready. When they started playing, everyone was screaming.
Really late to the party here. I saw the Friday show on the 20th, and it was a fairly disappointing evening.
Luv arrived just before school let out. She watched as Hannah dashed through the door to greet her father. Rick walked around the counter and scooped her
My first concert was also my first time seeing a pop band. Every teenager loved One Direction, including me, and dreamed of seeing them live one day. This experience meant a lot to me since it was a band that I had loved for a very long time. The tickets were a gift from my mother, Melissa, and I went with my sister, Melisvette. During that, I realized how happy concerts made me and got a job so that I could continue experiencing moments like these. What I didn’t want to experience, though, was the price it was to go to pop concerts.
When we got in we got some drinks and then we went to our seats. We were in the red section which is the closest section. We weren’t in the first row though, and it didn’t even matter, being there was more than I could’ve ever asked for. The first person to play before Keith Urban was a group called Dan and Shay. We arrived a little late, so we didn’t get to see them but, we did get to see the next performer, Phillip Phillips.
My final thought on this is that I surely convinced that this concert was going to be bored, but I was wrong. The experience of seeing someone performing in from of you is amazing and how they were so friendly. They actually tell us that with can ask question after and they can show us all the instrument that they were using. I
