Methods for Discipleship
My plan for discipling is to support my mentee over a period of twelve weeks with one on one meetings fortnightly. I will also make it a point to catch up with her each Sunday to see how she is doing and encourage her. I will pray for her regularily and keep in touch through text messages at least once a week. I will be a spiritual influence, guidance and support that she needs in her life. I will use prayer, my personal experience, Scripture, Christian resources and mature people that I trust to help me to do this for her.
Six One on One Meetings
The first meeting we meet at church and over dinner I asked my mentee (who I will refer to as Ally) what she wanted to get out of our meetings and what her goals were. Ally said that she would like to have more self cofidence because she was struggling to accept herself. So I told her about Psalm 139:13-18 and I said it would be a cool idea if we both memorised and studiecd it together, which she was keen to do. She also said that she wanted to be a better influnece to her family because they are non-Christians. We had a discussion on what she thought she was doing well and where she thought she could improve. Her last goal was to spend more time with God but she felt like she didn’t have time. So we discussed where she could make time and what her priorities were. I asked her questions about herself to get to know her and then I closed the meeting by praying for her.
At our second meeting, I
Imagine being at the peak of your high school career, personally, academically, and athletically. For me, that was my sophomore year. I was selected to be on the homecoming court, I won a free class ring, and a free corsage and boutonniere for prom. I was on my way to a 4.0 grade point average. I was pulled up to Varsity basketball, I became the 100 meter hurdle regional champion, and I qualified for two events at the Division 4 State meet for track and field. In one split second, a clip of a hurdle, that was over. My first race of the day was the preliminary 100 meter hurdles. Once the race started, I was calm, focused, and determined. I was starting to make my way up to the front of the pack when I clipped my trail leg on the eighth hurdle.
If I were to start my own Faith Community Practice I would first plan to sign up for EMU's online Faith Community Nursing Course in order to fully understand what an FCN is and how best to go about establishing my own practice. After completing the course, spend however much time I needed to figure out how exactly I want to run my practice. After figuring out a baseline plan, I would go about facing my other challenges. One challenge that I would most likely face is where to set up my practice. I would most likely want to start my practice in service to my home church at Lindale Mennonite Church. I don't believe we have an FCN practice there and I think it would an amazing opportunity to serve my home church in that manner if they allow. My

To begin, this is my worldview and how I view the world. I do not believe in labels because it hinders a person from their full capability. I do believe in the understanding a person not just by their appearance but by who they are personally and behavior. Anyone can appear appealing and charismatic, but only a true follower of Christ has like a special glow about them, which is rare in my world. I have learned that it does not matter what denomination, ethnicity or upbringing a person comes from as long as they know The Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus has done miraculous things in the past and in the present. Since I am on this Earth until I either die an earthly death or Jesus comes back, I try to live my life to the fullest.

Writing this Professional Project required some deep soul searching while deepening my spirituality to train the veterans of Tabernacle African Methodist Episcopal Church to become Disciples of Christ. Completing the nine training sessions will be beneficial for the congregation. A selection of a Steering Committee from the various boards within the church will assist me with the effectiveness of the Professional Project. Teaching the veterans about The Fruit of the Spirit will strengthen my spiritual walk with Christ as well. Each branch of the military has military core values and a comparison will be made with each Fruit of the Spirit during the training process. Presentations and workshops on The Fruit of the Spirit will undergird
Well this year was a hell of a year. I mean, i didn't pass any of the semesters but i did observe a ton of stuff that went on in the class. The class in general was pretty lit. Every day went by and i honestly did some work. The class was ready to learn as mrs g was ready to teach. I mean yea we had some days were we didn't want to learn anything and there were also days when mrs g didn't want to teach. But ima be honest, doing the work we did wasn't in my best interest. Most of the projects we did in class i worked on, but at the end i didn't end up liking how i did it so i wouldn't even bother turning anything in. like the obituary we had to write about ourselves. I liked the meaning behind this but honestly i didn't want to work on that because it just brought back memories of my friends that were killed.
NYPD Standard Operational Procedure when anyone is transferred: The next day they must report in civilian attire to Health Services Division to take a Drug Screening Test. I was fuming about this involuntary transfer to Internal Affairs in the elevator when it reached the eight floor. Not familiar with Health Services Division, preoccupied by still really being pissed off, I followed a small group into a meeting room with about twenty seats. As I sat down I suddenly noticed these guys didn’t really look like cops. When one of these weird individuals said to me “I ain’t crazy, no matter what they say, I wanna be a cop and I wanna a gun.” I was momentarily confused.
When it comes to my worldview, I feel pretty confident in what I know and what I stand for. I grew up in a Christian home, therefore I have been pretty consistent on what I believe in for my whole life. Some of the preceding questions really made me think though about what I really believe and how I am actually living. Although I know what my worldview is, it is not always easy to make sure that I am fully living it out.
Pastor Ed, it was so wonderful to meet you and your team. I was sitting down today to write a thank you note to the Connect Team for your wonderful hospitality and love. I have been telling everyone about the amazing ministry that Gateway has that ministers to the Body of Christ and Churches. We are now discussing ways to implement some of the things that we heard. I spoke with Pastor Aeneas about some the things we can implement quickly, like weekly meeting with key leaders, establishing a pray team for him and his family, and rotating volunteers so that they can get a break. We have a lot to accomplish, and as you know it is sometimes a challenge for The Spirit Church.
Speaking from my personal experiences I can definitely say the spirit world is real. Such as when i was younger I would always feel strange vibes from certain things such as anything dealing with death. Like I went to a funeral home once and got a vibe that something was watching me. As i continued to walk i felt it getting stronger and stronger as i went to view the body. I wasn’t the only one to feel this feeling as my mother did as well. Many people each and every day encounter something like this. A haunted house, grave, and even a random location like a bridge. Some locations are said to hold powerful energy that anyone feels. Feelings that there could be something lurking. Sometimes when an energy is so high in an
“The other important skill is empowering people by way of letting the biblical narratives ask their own questions of our social context…the discussion was wonderful, and people started to get this idea of dwelling in scripture before plunging into a meeting, in order to hear God.”. (A. Roxburgh/F. Romanuk,176)
Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step. -Martin Luther King, Jr. This quote appeals to the journey that I believe that I am beginning on to develop what’s next for me as I leave Wiley College. This Field experience has helped me to begin got map out where I want to work after I’ve met all requirements for my undergraduate degree. I had the opportunity to volunteer in the office of the Chaplain of Wiley College. The experience of ministry is something I believe you have to be equipped for while working as a campus pastor to students on a college campus.
Today, Sunday, Sept. 6th, 2015, Walking in the Spiritual light that glows from within and without. We never miss the light until we don't have it. Last week my drive was refinished and we were told that we could not use it for three days, so we had to detour through the field to get behind our house to park. It was late when we returned home the first evening and the light that always lights up our backyard had blown a GFI and was out. It was just a few feet to the GFI, but in the dark it seemed like two miles away. We were used to the light from a distance, yet when it wasn't there the darkness made a powerful change. The next morning we went out to get into a vehicle parked in the backyard and we were not able to do so. While rolling up the
I was raised in a Christian family. When I was two and a half years old, my grandma would read the Christian Bible to me. I had always like the Christian Bible. However, at thirteen, my spirit’s name called out to me. I learn that I was Laohg, but I did not understand what that really meant at the time. Before my fifteenth birthday, I was visited by Saint Michael the Archangel and was told to read and translate the Christian Bible, thus I started to really read and translate the Christian Bible, and I learned many things. However, when I turned seventeen, I was drawn to Pagan religions. I looked at many different religions and points of view at the time. After having visions of the beginning and of the end of the world, I started to accept
