My parents had no idea that I had morphed into a dog. We got to our hotel and checked in, while we were in the lobby, there was a tub of legos near us. I pawed all the way to the legos and nocked the tub over. My parents saw what happened and said sorry to the clerk and put me in the petrifying
Walking up to the shelter only to find that the dog we wanted is being taken home by another family, we thought we wouldn't be getting a dog today. But when we found her, we were glad that the other dog was taken. Her black, slicked back fur shedding off of her perfect dog body. Her black beady eyes are bulging out of her head with the look of excitement. Unable to hold herself back she breaks the leash that the vet was trying to hold her back with. Running to us, she slips and falls on her head. We don’t have a second to worry because she jumps up and starts licking our faces with her slobbery tongue. By the time she is tired from licking our faces, we feel as if we just went swimming in a pool of melting jello
On 02/19/17, at 4:14pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was dispatched to 3279 Parklane Ave on a possible nuisance dog, owner known. I arrived at the location and spoke to Felcia Salett mother to victim Lakai Jones. Ms. Salett stated that this is not the first time the dogs (large mix breed brown in color and black mix breed dog) have been loose in and around her house. Ms. Salett stated that this was the first instance that one of the dogs came after one of her children. Ms. Salett asked Ms. Jones to explain what took place. Ms. Jones stated she was in the backyard of her resident with a friend when a large mix breed brown dog jumped over fence into their backyard and charged at Ms. Jones, knocking her to the ground. Ms. Jones was able to
Last year around November, I did something that was probably a little selfish. While in my room I received a call from my cousin. I left my house without anyone knowing where I was going. When I got back with the puppy, there was a lot of confusing stares. It turned out to not be a good idea to have made that decision.
My first day in Pets Forever I was immensely eager. I sat down and paid attention to the expectations and recent programs they had to offer. The first program that caught my interest was the veterinarian team. I was so thrilled that they had the opportunity to get involved with veterinarian clinics that I signed up as soon as I could. Unfortunately, I didn’t get in. I was downhearted because I was so thrilled to think that I could be the person getting the appropriate care for other people’s animals. However, after talking to Sarah and letting her know that I previously worked in an emergency animal clinic, she let me join the team. I didn’t realize how different of an experience being on this team was going to be. I never really spent my time in the waiting room or talking to the clients about what was going on. I had a very skewed perception thinking it was going to be like what I previously did but without the hand on experience. I thought that I would be seeing more procedures as well as new veterinary techniques. Instead, I got more human contact than animal contact. I had a misconception of what I would be doing when I signed up for the team. Even though Pet Forever wasn’t what I thought it was going to be, I still deeply enjoyed every moment and learned many life skills.
It was the 11th of January and we were going to get a new dog. The road has ice, snow and sleet. I had a headache and I was really tired. It was cold, cloudy, and bright. The ride was like a 4 hour ride because I slept through the whole thing and it was awesome. When I woke it we were still not there. So my mom, brother and I all played car games. When we got there it was loud and it made my head hurt even more than it did before. It was wet and really icy so I had to crawl. My mom asked “What are you doing on the ground.” I said “Crawling so I don’t fall on my butt or my side like I always do. When we went in we saw Peanut. The women said “The reason he has bad back legs is because he was at a puppy mill.” He was funny because he was slipping
There are so many kinds of dogs in the world, but why did the shell decide to make me this dog? What if it wasn’t the shell, what if it was the wish I made of becoming a dog, or I was always a dog all along but I didn’t know it? My dad was getting scared and so was I. He stared posting images of me all around town, and he already talked to the police. NO matter what, I had to do something. So, I stared to think maybe I could go around town and try to find one of those papers and show it to my dad maybe he will get a hint that it was me. And that exactly what I did. I found one paper, but I couldn’t reach it off the post it was stapled to. A little girl came by be and noticed I didn’t have a coler on and she asked what I was doing here and
One day around two o'clock pm I got a phone call from my dad. I answered it and it was awful news. He told me that our dog, Cruiser, had passed away. He was only four years old, and none of us were expecting it. I thought that nothing good would have ever come out of it. But something did. Cruiser and I were never that close, I never really ever wanted to go out and see him at our farm, but I still loved him to death.
Brrrrrrringgg! The high-pitched tone on my phone rings temptingly, but I manage to resist the urge to look at the new message. Reading under the dim light in my bedroom, I can still hear the clatter of plates and busy shuffling outside my door as the night turns black over the colonial city of Leon. Luckily, my shift is over, and I can now try to focus on my schoolwork. At 12 years old, I started working as the cashier in my parents’ tiny Spanish restaurant. We moved to Leon in search of a better future, leaving broken promises behind as well as a host of caring friends that I would never see again. It would take a while, but, eventually, I would see reality through the eyes of an adult, even though I was just a kid.
Finding the dog you want at the Humane Society may take patience, especially if you want a smaller breed, or if you want a breed that's fairly rare. Here in Portland Oregon and in many other large cities around the country the Humane Society always has Labrador retrievers, pit bulls, chow chows, Rottweilers, Australian shepherds, Border collies, and various mixes of these breeds. You sometimes find a golden retriever, and very occasionally an expensive purebred, such as an English bulldog or West Highland terrier. During a recent trip to the local animal shelter I saw a Boston terrier mix that looked just like Henry J, the mutt I grew up with -- I would have taken him home, but someone beat me to him. Labs and Lab crosses are one of the most
On the car ride to the breeder’s house, I thought back to the Monday night Where my parents broke the sensational news. We were eating dinner when dinner when we heard what was happening.
have changed because, I’m doing better. Also I have changed my looks in the beginning I would wear my lip piercing; now I don’t bring it to school. i think it was important that I changed because i would always get I think in trouble from wearing the piercing and now that I don’t wear it, they don’t really tell me anything anymore. Now I actually do my make up calmly in the beginning I would always be in a hurry. I think I have also changed I my personality I’m more aware of what could happened if I don’t do the right thing, how back then I wouldn’t even care about what could happen. I think I’m changing slowly by slowly, but I’m changing in a good way. In a few years from now I’ll be proud that I changed my attitude. One thing I have been
John looked at the clock and saw there was twelve minutes remaining in the half. He scanned the opposing team. All of them standing two inches taller and weighing 20 to 100 more pounds. He was nervous to see his first varsity time at center. He knew he was in for a battle. I was in the same situation sophomore year when I became the starter after five games. When I became the varsity center I transitioned to an adult because I later became more involved in my community, became tougher mentally, and became the first starter as a sophomore in my family.
I’m an only child that has moved a decent amount in her lifetime. I was born in a small city near the Polish-Ukrainian border called Przemysl. After a few years, my family moved to Krakow, and I later spent a while with my grandmother in her village, Narol. In the middle of kindergarten, I moved from Poland to Northbrook, Illinois, and attended school there for two years. I later moved to Chicago Ridge, and just last year in August, I moved to Hickory Hills. Last year was my first year at Stagg, and I enjoyed it a great deal. For my freshman year I attended Richards. Moving after just becoming familiarized with Richards put me out of my comfort zone sophomore year and I had to talk to a lot of people to try to make friends. For this reason,
On the day of incident, I was told that we had many customers than usual and the cooler was almost empty, so it had to be done in the night. Tragically, while I was stocking up one of the top shelf in the cooler, I backed up without noticing there was an open case of coke, classic longneck cans, on the floor. Mistakenly, I stepped on that open case and fell down on other inventory. After that incident, I sat in the cooler for a few minute to calm myself, and then went to sit in the office. In the result of this incident anything could have happen. For example, if I happen to hit my head, I could have lost consciousness and die in there.
I can bet that all of us here have wrestled with death once or twice in our lives. We all know how hard it is to cope with the loss of something that we love. After, people say that they completely understand death and what it means. There are many times in my own life where I think that I have understood death. I was wrong. Sure, I have lost fish and grandparents, but the one that hurt me the most and made me truly understand is when I lost my dog.
