Personal Narrative: My Experience At Houston Community College

1. What experience do you like talking about the most? What has been the most interesting, intriguing, and exciting part of your life- why, and what did you learn from it?

Growing up with high expectations my mind has always been set on the idea of college. However when thinking of the “right” college for my future, I never knew If I would be able to fully commit and choose which one was best for me. I wanted something that would be comfortable for me that also meets my criteria that would make the college transition a bit easier. Since I’m going into something new, my decision would end up being based on the class sizes, the costs being affordable, the majors and degrees available for Nursing, and the location and how close it is to my family. It was a hard decision however one school had it all, which is why I’ve decided to further this chapter of my life at West Texas A&M University.

When I started Chaffey College I did not had a college major in mind. My educational plan was set up to take general education for the first two semesters. It took me a month to realize I wanted to be a Dental Assistant. There was a waiting list for the program, but, fortunately I could obtain all the documents need it to be qualified. Now, my education plan is set up to graduate from Chaffey College by 2018. I will end up with an Associate Degree as a Register Dental Assistant. My education plan was set up to graduate in less than 3 years with the best experience and knowledge I could get. Being in college had made me increase my education goal, not only will I get a career in the Dental field but I will continue to become a mathematics teacher

Looking back at my life to where I am now. I can honestly admit if I did not come to Community College my life would have been different. Here at community college I have made the most out of my experience I not only saved a significant amount of money but, furthermore I have grown not only with myself but with my grades as well. I struggled with a numerous of things in high school. However here at college I actually took the time to listen and observe. I have made friends and individuals that I can honestly call my family. I have taken the initiative to progress in my chosen fields.

Before my admission to Houston Community College, I was lost on how to succeed in my courses. However, my admission to this institute exposed me to different courses which educated me on different lessons on how not only to survive in college, but also how to succeed in my classwork. There are two main lessons that I wish to pass on to other students on how they can flourish in their courses.

As a first generation college student in my family, it has been an enriching experience attending Wake Technical Community College. I have learned a lot about myself, and why I love pursuing my education. I have experienced diversity, and a passion for lifelong learning. I am very proud to say that I will be graduating with an Associates Degree in Early Childhood, and I am very excited for the next chapter in my life. I hope that next chapter will be attending Meredith College to pursue a bachelor's in Child Development, so that I can change the lives of many children. It is my career goal to help children pursue their dreams of a higher education, and Meredith can provide a learning environment to contribute to that dream. Since I’m the first

Through my experiences and achievements at California Baptist University, I can gain an academic advantage over my peers attending other schools. The amount of programs and majors offered at CBU will help me develop as an educated and experienced woman with a strong educational background at CBU. With the help of CBU, I can grow into my full potential and maintain a great headstart in entering the real world with a strong mentality of maturity. I have always maintained upstanding grades and high GPA in high school, and my attendance at CBU will merely continue my pattern of success.

Well my journey starts out just like most high schoolers. I graduated for high school in May of 2012. I got ready to start my next chapter in my life at Iowa Central Community College. I had no clue what I was going to major in. I knew only one thing that I wanted to play football in college, and get my education payed for free. Also I wanted to make it to the highest level in football to play at the FBS level. Some things I had to do to reach that goal where be a good football player as well as a great student. I shortly figured out that I was going to just do essential studies and graduate.

I started my college education at Chandler-Gilbert Community College, then to GCU. My passion to help others was evident in the classroom resulting in my professors recommending that I became a tutor at the college’s learning center. I worked there for three semesters tutoring math and science. In addition, I volunteered at Chandler Regional Medical Center where I accumulated over 300 service hours working in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU). After earning my bachelor’s degree, I was offer a position to work in the CV-ICU at Banner-University Medical Center. I am also an RN supervisor at Southwest Behavioral

Everyone in my family has attended college and has done something with their lives and I plan on continuing the cycle. In the fall of 2017 I will be attending Sam Houston State University. My major will be kinesiology because sports has always been a part of my life and I couldn’t imagine myself going through life without doing something related to sports.

Last week at East, we had students going to the community college two days in a row and a school sponsored blood drive. The county office and community college scheduled the college days for our CTE students and seniors. It was hectic to say the least and the teachers had to be flexible. Some of the drove buses, others covered classes to give our students the opportunity to visit with college representatives and local business owners. By the end of the week, I could sense there was an undercurrent of stress. The feel or pulse of the school was off and by Friday, we had several teachers absent. To show appreciation, and to help combat high staff absents on Fridays I asked for money to buy the staff ice cream and to begin Fun Friday.

I fully understand the reason for my suspension from North Central Texas College. At the time of classes, my grades were too low and did not show my strength as a student. I would like you/ the school to reconsider my enrollment for classes.

While Anne Arundel Community College is one of the most accredited community colleges in Maryland, I aspire to fulfill my academic needs elsewhere.  The main reason I had to enroll at AACC was because I was diagnosed with brain cancer in February of 2016, this forced me to stay near Johns Hopkins Hospital to receive treatment. As fall approached my treatments became frequent and daunting. Never mind the fact that I was missing class that I was on the verge of failing, I felt depressed. Being a community college, AACC cannot provide me with an adequate college experience. Here I can't cheer on the football team or spend late nights in the library studying. Hello everyone. I moved to the United States 5 years ago when I was 15, and started my high school experience at Coppell High School. Right now, I am a sophomore in college and about 20 years old, and I was living in Dallas for all of those years except this year because of the University that I am attending, the University of Texas at Austin, so I am currently living at Austin to be close to the University. I have attended Dallas Community College for my freshman year, and I still take my general classes there. My major is Electrical Engineering, and I am deciding to major in three sub discipline of this major; Communication, Circuit, and Software Engineering. One of my best experiences was studying at the Dallas Community College because
