It was fun when we went on our family trip this summer the South Dakota. It was a long ride and everything but it was fun to see all of the things we stopped at. Like we stopped at the Falls and walked around for a hour our two and look at all the cool things. We than ate lunch and got back on the road and drove to the hotel we were going to stay at for that night. But every hour or so we had to stop, because someone had to go to the bathroom and my dad would always say
“Really, we just stopped, couldn’t you have gone last time.”
Then the other person would be like
“I didn’t have to back then.”
Than we had to stop and it just took us longer to get the Hotel. What was supposed to be a 6ish hour drive turned into a eight hour drive. Than when

You just stick your tongue out at each other and start all over again. So after all of that my parents took my sister out to the pool, while went to the bathroom. Than I turned on the TV and got something to eat and watched some TV.
When I finished my snack I went out to the pool and asked my dad if we could go ask the front desk if they had a basketball because there was a basketball court their, so they logically had to have a basketball that we could use, and they did. So we played and I won most of them. Then we took the ball back and just sat around the pool and just rested. Than these biker dudes came over and got in the pool and sat at one of the tables. So I kind of looked over to my dad and he looked at me and I was there just thinking “CRAP, THIS ANIT GOOD.” So a couple minutes latter my mom told my sister to get out of the water and she got dressed and went back to the room and talked about where we were going to go eat. So we got in the car and drove around the town and see if there was a good place to go eat at. Then we came upon this “Biker Hangout” and we stayed for away from that place and winded up at this dinner off the high way. That served really good hamburgers and fries. When we got back Graci wanted to go swimming again, so while she was swimming my dad and I, went to go get the basketball to go shoot

But not before we had some good breakfast and got packed up. So we are just cruising down the road and all of a sudden the clock read 8:30, but then it read 7:30. Then were just like “ what do we do now” because none of the stores will be open at this time in the morning. So we just drove until we got to this “tourist trap” town. They had all of these cool stores and things in them were even cooler. But then we had to get on the road again, but then we stopped at this military base museum on airplanes that was pretty cool and all. But the mosquitoes were out of this world. You just won’t to get indoors and get away from them. Then after exploring, we got back on the road, but we were almost there. But my parents put in the wrong address. Which turned out not to be that bad, because we weren’t that for from the reptile zoo that my family wanted to go to. Me on the other hand, I could have done with out it, because I absolutely hate snakes. But we watch this snake show which was not bad, but then we watched this alligator show which was funny and fun to watch. After being there for what felt like eternity, we got on the road and drove to Bear country which was pretty cool. Because they you could drive into this arena that was all fenced in and drive around looking at animals that were roaming around. But they had them all separated, so the bears weren’t put with the deer and so on. Than at the end
When we got there we all hopped out of the car and went to the ticket booth for access to the park we bought our tickets then went on the tram into the awesome land of Disney World. Our first stop was at the main park where we all split up i was with dad my little sister was with mom and my Big sisters where on there own. Dad and I went to the space stuff and the
In this personal narrative will be telling you all about the struggles of moving from Box Elder South Dakota to Dupree South Dakota.
I moved to Yankton, South Dakota when I was 6. I moved from Kearney, NE. I was really excited to move into a new house and a new town. Yankton is smaller than my old town it's also farther away from all of my family. For the most part I like yankton, most of the people are really nice. Since there is nothing to do in Yankton besides shopping around town in little stores, or going to a movie, or even going to dinner, or just driving around, my favorite thing is going to the lake and the bridge. There for my favorite part is definitely the lake. I love the trails and the beaches and everything down there. It's so peaceful and beautiful it's just a great place to get away. I like my school too, I mean sure it has its ups and downs but in reality
A toast to a place above all the rest, this place though odd has captured my heart. I know this isn’t a conventional Burns supper toast, or even a real toast at all. But as I was thinking about which toast I wanted to give; I realized that there was only one place that I wanted to talk about. So firstly, I would like to ask you guys have you ever been to a place that makes you feel happy. A place that even at the mention of its name, you can’t help but think of happy memories you had there. The place that does that for me is the Black Hills of South Dakota. I spent my summer working at a campground in the heart of the Black Hills. So here’s a toast to the Black Hills and all of its natural beauty.
While I was a kid my family and I used to go on bike rides all the time to anywhere you could think of. We would go boating everyday in the summer. We would ski, wakeboard, go tubing and many more. Go tubing was one of the funniest memories I have boating because the thrill you get is unbeatable trying to hold on for dear life. Anothering thing we did as a family was go on vacation everywhere. The road trips were always fun because we would bring our dog turbo. The one trip that will never be forgotten is North Carolina. We go there every year with family friends and it will be a trip on go on with my kids.
The parents were fed up with our wild animal like behavior and told us to play downstairs in the basement. We all went down the basement and started to playing tag. Therefore, we had to be careful playing because the basement was not finished at the time and had metal studs where the walls are supposed to go and the concrete floors that are now hardwood. When everybody went upstairs because they were as tired as an olympic runner after a meet my Dad came down to fix a light bulb. He used a ladder to fix it so he could reach and when he was done he went upstairs so I was the only one in the basement. I wanted to be like my Dad so I decided to climb the ladder. I was at the top when my foot slipped off the ladder. Somehow I was able to turn my body around and grab onto a pipe to stop myself from falling. I felt the pipe starting to brake so I decided to swing on to the metal stud next to me because I was sure that was going to hold me. When my
When we were leaving to Maryland, I was sad to leave my dog but we had no choice. Our trip to Maryland was about 12 hours long but we took about 14 or 15 hours. We left at 3 in the afternoon, and we did get lost a few times but we had a GPs. We passed by Ohio and it was so long. We also passed by Columbus and it was beautiful. We passed by a lot of cities. When we were in West Virginia my dad almost ran over a drunk man and he even looked to see if there were any cars but he just walked! The ride was so long but my brother and I couldn't sleep, all 4 of us pulled an all nighter.
I am a South Dakota girl through and through. I grew up in Clark and haven’t been far away from there since graduating in 1993. I attended SDSU where I started as a music major and quickly learned that I was not meant for that classroom. My high school English teacher gave me some excellent advice during Christmas break of my freshmen year, and I never looked back! In my 16 years as an educator, I have taught a wide range of ELA, Speech, Journalism, and History classes to 7-12 grade students in a number of A and B schools in the Watertown area. I have landed back home at CHS where I have taught 9-12 ELA/Speech and K-4 PE for the last four years.
One day in Nebraska, Bill was riding in his brand new 1970 chevelle. He was thinking if he could bring it to a drag strip and race that would be great. So he got online to check if there were any events and there happened to be one in one day. So he got his car all cleaned up and tooned out for the race. The next day he got up and got ready for a great day. He got into his car and head off to the drag race track. Once he got there he got his car all ready for the race just to make sure. His opponent was very experienced and you could tell he has been racing for a while. So Bill got nervous but he was ready. His opponent had a very fast car that might have had even more power than his chevelle.
One early morning me and my family went to mexico.WE were on the road for two days.Once we were at my grandma's house me and my brother went to look at my aunt and uncle's horses. In mexico it was a lot of fun reiding horses and watching my unkles rope. One other fun thing to do was driving motorcicle and playing with the dog’s.
The town is small and the roads are worn, but Chancellor South Dakota is where my childhood happened. Chancellor is a town with 252 people and everyone knows just the right everyone. The town has everything a Midwest small town has: a local diner, gas station, casino, two churches, Veteran memorial, and a wonderful, little park. From when I lived here from when was born till middle school. The memories I made in this town where fun and childish, but each one left something in my mind.
Over the summer Megan and I went to Wisconsin with her family . It was an outstanding trip with my best friend. We went to many different places and got all kinds of things. We stayed for 6 days. We stayed in a cabin on Lake Twin.
Imagine coming home from school to a car fully packed waiting to go to Fort Walton, Florida. Well that's what I came home to on the last day until Spring Break. We will be going to the beach, swimming, fishing, and more when we get there! I was so excited to leave. The car drive was estimated to be only 10 hours. But on the way a lot of other people had the same idea as us on our trip. Traffic was bad on the way down. There were lots of crashes. Believe it or not there was a backup that was like 4 miles. The cars were bumper to bumper and and it was getting late. In about 30 minutes we got about 1 mile. It was awful! With the bumper to bumper traffic there was another crash. That delayed us about 30 more minutes. We all got grumpy because we
When I was a young child I would love to hear my parents tell me that we were going on a trip. I would be full of excitement, because I knew that we would be going to a place that I had never seen before. My parents, my brother, and I would pack our luggage and venture out in our small gray minivan. Three of my most cherished memories in our minivan are when we went to Disney World, the beach, and the mountains.
My mom, dad, brother, and I were all putting sunscreen on, head to toe like we showered in it while we were waiting for the cab to pick us up to go pick up the ATV's. Once the cab got to the hotel, we all had to stuff ourselves and our belongings in it because it was one of those mini cars that only had room for three people, but we were four people not including the driver. At the ATV Rental place, we got sized for helmets and the ATV. My brother and I were not old enough to drive the ATV so my brother and my father went together while my mother and I went together. Before you know it, we were out and about zooming through the streets of Aruba to get the California Lighthouse which
