My Propelling Traits
In my first semester in College, a summer semester, I did not do as well as I wanted to but I made up my mind that I will have A’s in all my other classes, and I have been able to achieve my goal so far. I am determined and I think that is the most important trait that has been helping me in my education, and that will help me in my future career. Just as determination made Edison keep trying after many failures, it keeps me focused and able to tackle challenges that I face in my academics and in pursuing my career. I want to become a doctor. Though, I know getting into medical school is highly competitive and challenging to go through, I am resolute.
I am passionate about the welfare of people, kind and caring, which

Hard work is the means by which determination and passion can be productive and goals can be realized. It is by hard-work that I will be able to do excellently in school, so I could have an impressive GPA, and get high MCAT scores that will qualify me for medical school. By being hardworking, I can face the rigor of medical school, and excel in the medical field.
I watched my mentor closely, listened intently as he talked to a young man, and was able to convince him by providing facts and reasons, to get what he wanted. I needed an exemption from my school advisor though she was reluctant, by using the skills I had seen my uncle use; I was able to convince her to grant me the exemption. I am able to listen, paying attention to detail and my environment, so I could learn from people around me and events. By listening and meditating on class lectures, interacting with people like practitioners in my field, I have learned immensely. I have been able to avoid making mistakes, and take advantage of opportunities that I might have ignored. This skill will help me in my future career, since I have to learn by watching medical procedures, will expand my knowledge.
These traits will help me in achieving my academic and career goals. Though, I still have to keep learning, developing and acquiring more skills to be highly
“What are we going to do! What about my graduation?” Linz repeats frantically over and over, as the daunting reality slowly sat in.
Have you ever felt so nervous in your life that your mind ached with anxiety. It was the final race in my seventh grade track season, but little did I know my anxiety became the least of my worries.
We human beings are all works of art. Every experience that we have is a new stroke of paint to our canvas. The things that influence us do the same. I am not a completed work of art, but I can show my progress of what makes me. I am influenced by the media, my teachers, and the neighborhoods I lived in. Now here is the showing of my work.
My keys strengths are my customer service skills and my ability to work under pressure and meet targets on a time bound schedule. I have a very good work ethic and determination to achieve high for my company.
Some of my strength, when it comes to writing are persuading, collecting ideas/generate ideas, and understand what the topic is expressing. On the other side, my weaknesses are organizing the paper, sentence structure, and grammatical error.
My Signature Themes are achiever, arranger, responsibility, input, and significance. Each of these are very significant in defining my strengths and showing me how to best use my strengths in my future. My first strength was achiever and this is representing me as a whole, and is what I use in everyday life. I am a driven person who wants to accomplish many things and I visualize my life as a mountain that I will overcome every day and at the end of every day I will have a beautiful view of what I have accomplished. I use every day in events such as: relentless volunteering, working long hours and everything is done with an impeccable sense of satisfaction after completion. My second and third strengths are arranger and responsibility. These
Growing up in Ethiopia, I saw just how desperately my people and the world needed physicians. Although the situation seemed dishearteningly bleak, I found hope in the idea that one day, if I worked hard enough, I could help my people by becoming a doctor. As a result, ever since coming to America my hope has given me the drive to push towards my goal, daily. For example, while working and fulfilling my duties to help my community through club; I always put my obligations to school first. Every day my aspirations for the future seem increasingly within reach. Although I still have a long way to go, I believe that my drive and focus will help me in attaining my
My strengths are experience I have from my practicum and volunteer, hard-working personality, and observation skills. I independently interacted with patients and families and provided therapeutic play and activities in pediatrics and PICU. I also observed child life specialists in NICU, surgery, emergency department, and trauma. Observation enables me to interact and communicate effectively with patients and their families. I respect the individual differences such as culture, religion, and their unique needs.
What defines me is my drive to help people, and the adrenaline and mental high I get from doing it. I can accredit this to my Aunt Rhonda who was a Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) During my early childhood. I remember her letting me sit on her lap after she got back from a long weekend of volunteering, and me marveling over her stories of the shift. By the time I got to elementary school, I had started carrying extra band-aids in my backpack so as to save the life of a possible wounded classmate. When I got into middle school, I was familiar with the first responder standards of care and had my own basic medical bag. I spent my weekends reading “Grey's Anatomy” and watching endotracheal intubation demonstrations on youtube instead of doing my homework. But everything I
The skills I already have is active learning, reading comprehension, critical thinking. I’m good at reading comprehension, which allows me to understand reading, written sentences, and paragraphs in documents. Also, if I do not understand a word, in the reading, I will look up the definition to fully understand the word. My active learning allows myself to understand what others are saying by giving my undivided attention, as appropriate questions, not interrupt at the wrong time, and understand the points that were made. Plus, I am very independence and can work by myself if necessary. I pay very close attention to detail because every little detail counts Then my critical thinking allows me to find the approaches to problems and think about the factors that affect the problem. However, I have skills in using complex problem solving; I would keep getting better at it because new problems happen daily, so I would need to know more methods on tackling the problem. In addition, with mathematics I would keep taking more classes because there is always something new in math that I would need to be knowledgeable about or I would utilize in my
At the football game at Rosary High on Friday night, Chris was hanging out with his friends Tyler and Jack by the bathrooms. When the game was about to start, they all went to use the bathroom. As they were about to leave, a group of students came in and saw Jack washing his hands. One of the guys in the group named Cameron started pushing Jack between his friends and asking him “Hey fag, aren’t you in the wrong bathroom?”
Giving up or giving in are two ideas that are difficult for me to comprehend. Growing up, I didn't have a father and my mother had to work all day to provide for me. While my mom tried with all her might to be there for me, it was simply impossible for her to be everywhere at the same time. By having to raise and teach myself, at times, I slowly learned to become independent. I also saw how hard my mom worked which motivated, and still motivates me, to become a better person each day.
Although I have not had the pleasure of participating in research studies outside of school, I believe many of my personal strengths would benefit a research team at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Among these strengths I consider my top three to be discipline, positivity and learning. Through self-reflection, I have observed how these strengths have allowed me to work with others towards achieving a common goal. Throughout any research process, I believe it is important to maintain discipline within that study. Following the correct procedures and using organizational skills enable the research process to be more effective. I am very organized and reliable to follow any guidelines given. At times there may also be unexpected obstacles
That is, until I was nine and fainted at the sight of my own blood when I cut my finger.
I never really thought about where my life was going. I always believed life took me where I wanted to go, I never thought that I was the one who took myself were I wanted to go. Once I entered high school I changed the way I thought. This is why I chose to go to college. I believe that college will give me the keys to unlock the doors of life. This way I can choose for myself where I go instead of someone choosing for me.
