As I dragged my soaking body along the warm, caramel sand I stood back and began to look and wonder where I was. In the midst of what seemed to be a tropical paradise, there was vast greenery spread throughout hundreds of acres of land, so luscious that they looked like they were individually handcrafted. Beautiful flowers ranging in all colors of red, blue, purple, and yellow were spread along the banks of small streams surrounding the trees. Continuing to walk on the beach I began to tremble as I started to remember what happened upon my arrival. My friends and I were going on vacation to Fiji until the main engine of our plane abruptly burst into flames urging everyone to jump out into the water. Everything from that moment went black in
There is no other place I feel more at ease than at Kiawah Island. I have been going to this summer getaway every since I was a baby, and my love for this little island off the coast of South Carolina will never fade. When we roll up the driveway of 90 Jackstay Court, I feel a surge of elation, as I know I will be spending the next week with my family, cousins, and grandparents. I run my hands across the granite countertops where I can already smell the intoxicating aromas of a home cooked meal. First thing in the morning, my cousin and I grab our sand battered bikes, and start pedalling on the boardwalk to the beach. I’m careful on the narrow wooden platform, with the painful reminder of when I fell off into the brush. We hop off our bikes
I went to Buena Vista Elementary for Kindergarten, then moved to Sing Lum Elementary for 1st through 6th grade. As the end of the year approached and I knew I was going to Tevis, I was feeling very nervous and scared about coming here and being a new Kid. I had heard a lot of things about Tevis since my Uncle had been a student at Tevis four years prior to me. The thing I was most concerned about when going to Tevis was about how I was going to open my locker and still get to class on time. My first impressions of Tevis was that there were a lot of big kids here. Junior high has been completely different then what I thought. I thought I was going to get bullied and picked on but that was the complete opposite.
My father and I decided to try out our scuba equipment on a recent family trip to Anna Maria Island. We purchased the equipment second hand and tested it in our pool. We took our boat out to a nice spot near an island that had some ruins from an old military pier. My Dad told me to wait in the boat while he got in the water and tested out his gear first. Doing this may have saved his life. After getting in the water and seeming fine at first, he realized his vest had a leak and was filling up with air, preventing him from diving. There was a strong current pushing him away from the boat and as he attempted to fight the current to swim back to the boat, he became winded because the vest became too tight on his chest for him to breathe fully.
I didn’t think I would ever have the opportunity to go somewhere so beautiful and magical as Hawaii. The waterfalls surrounded by the thick canopy of trees were so calming and amazing.
How everything back in the U.S? Right now I'm in Panama visiting its different places and people. Over here is Panama it can get sunny and hot. Panama is a really fascinating country but I think the two things I have enjoyed over here was visiting the Panama Canal and learning about the Kuna Indians. Did you know the Panama Canal connects both the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean? The canal is huge! Its 50 miles long and stenches deep in land! The canal according to what I remember was finished in April 1907 by Colonel George W. Goethals. To cross the entire canal took around 8-10 hours !! Though it was nice to see the land around the canal when the ride took off.
Fiji is located in the southwest Pacific, south of the Equator. It is an archipelago that consists of 322 islands, 106 of them are inhabited and the rest are natural reserves. My legacy can be remembered by a lot of people if I want it to. It all depends on how I put myself out there, and I want to be out there to be remembered. When people think about me, I want them to think positive thoughts. I would like to be thought of as a person who was very kind, funny, helpful, smart, and other good character traits like that. Having these personality traits can make my other classmates better at what they do in school. But, if I do something wrong, or incorrect if I leave a bad trail for for my classmates to follow that means that's how those people are going to remember me as. I know for a fact that is not how I want people to think about somewhere in the future or right know in the present.
I see myself in my parents arms as a baby. I gaze up into their joyous eyes. Then I scream and scream for milk. The joyous look is gone and they look tired and sleep deprived. I cry and cry until I get my milk. Right as the bottle enters my mouth, the vision fades away.
Everyone is an explorer at heart, we all examine the earths surrounding from the smallest things such as a pebble and to large things like a mountain. We take “notes” or images of places we’ve been and place we wish to see. Our goal as humans is to learn, explore, and to create but we can only do this if we just go. This narrative will focus on my lifelong dream to go to Hawaii and how finally going there had an impact on me in the fall of the year 2014.
Upon on arriving to Queensland, Australia it was fine except our luggage, went to Brisbane Airport instead of the airport we were flying in at, Whitsunday Airport. After that, we got into a taxi to a rental car service. Then, we went out to eat at good old Mcdonalds for lunch. My sister was not that annoying today. Property because they all had headphones in listening to music for the trip so far. And, I am not talking about low volume either; I am talking about full blast. It is like they’re having a competition to see whose music can be louder. I forgotten my phone and headphones in my suitcase so, I had to play I spy with myself. Let me tell it is the most boring thing you can ever do. So after about two or
If I got a free trip to any where in the world I would go to Hawaii. On the trip I would take Morgan because she is one of my best friends. I would go to Hawaii because I have never been there before. It also isn’t that long of a trip so that means I can spend more time having fun in Hawaii. I would also go so Morgan and I could swim in the ocean. Me and Morgan would stay in Hawaii for the first day then we would go on a cruise for the last 2 days.
I am sitting on my bed, staring at my empty suitcase in a panic, all I can think about is in a few hours I will be boarding my plane to Hawaii and i have nothing in any of my bags. I try to procrastinate because I can't deal with the stress right now. I flip open my laptop and see an article on my explore page called ¨The easiest way to pack for a trip”. I thought It was a gift from god so I instantly click it.
Trying to find memories is like looking for treasure. You look at the surface and see something mediocre, but you dig deep and find something cool, pretty, and meaningful. It took a while to think of a fond memory, but once I thought of some, it was hard to choose a favorite. Growing up I have had many great experiences in the form of vacations. Between going to Disney World, owning a vacation home, hanging out with my grandparents in Arizona, traveling to Canada and more. They all make amazing memories that I will forever cherish. The vacation spot we go to the most, though, is Wisconsin Dells. A few times I have been allowed to invite friends to come with. When I am allowed to bring friends, it is always a ginormous amount of fun. We goof off in the hotel room, play in the arcades, and swim in the water parks.
When I stepped into the large neatly organized white polished plane, I never though something would go wrong. I woke up and found myself on an extremely hot bright sunny desert island filled with shiny soft bright green palm trees containing rough bright yellow hard felt juicy apples. The simple strong plane I was in earlier shattered into little pieces of broken glass and metal when crashing onto the wet slimy coffee colored sand and burning with red orange colored flames. After my realization to this heart throbbing incident I began to run pressing my eight inch footsteps into the wet squishy slimy light brown sand looking in every direction with my wide open eyes filled with confusion in search of other survivors. After finding four
Endowed with forest, mineral, and fish resources, Fiji is one of the most developed of the Pacific island economies, though it remains a developing country with a large subsistence agriculture sectorTemplate:Https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/fj.html. Agriculture accounts for 18% of Gross Domestic Product, although it employs some 70% of the workforce as of 2001. Sugar exports and a growing tourist industry are the major sources of foreign exchange. Sugar cane processing makes up one-third of industrial activity; coconuts, ginger, and copra are also significant.
