I can’t believe that it is finally July 27, 2018! My mom and I are going to Las Vegas to see the Backstreet Boys in concert. My mom and I can’t wait to get to the Airport. It would be our first time going to Las Vegas. Our plane was to leave from Gerald R. Ford International Airport at 9:00 AM. As soon as we get through security and everything else, we finally reach the gate for our flight to Las Vegas. We get to the gate at 8:00 AM, and we find out that our flight has been delayed. So instead of our flight leaving at 9:00 AM, our flight will not leave until 2:00 PM. We are infuriated, furious, apoplectic because we have reservations for our hotel’s spa at 1:10 PM. Luckily, for us, our hotel could change our spa time from 1:10 PM to 7:10 PM. …show more content…
Our airplane seat sections go first class, business class, and economy class. We got to our seats in first class, and at 2:10 PM we finally leave the tarmac. We got to watch Pitch Perfect 3 on our flight to Las Vegas. Since we were watching Pitch Perfect 3, the plane ride didn’t feel like it was 4 hours and 10 minutes long. Even Though our flight was 4 hours and 10 minutes long, we still had a lot of fun on the flight. At 6:10 PM, we finally arrive at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. My mom and I get off the plane and pick up our luggage. We get to ride in a limo to the hotel courtesy of our hotel at 6:10 PM. We are
Leaving Las Vegas, directed by Mike Figgis and based on the autobiographical novel by John O’Brien, is an emotional story about an alcoholic who rejects life and wants to drink himself to death in Las Vegas, and an unselfish prostitute who loves him the way he is. Ben, played by Nicholas Cage, was a former movie producer in Los Angeles and has obviously crumbled in the glamour world of Hollywood which is shown in the opening scene. Here Ben is already an alcoholic when he disturbs former colleagues that are embarrassed of his appearance at the restaurant. Ben is unstable and a mess when one of the men give him money and tell him not to contact him again. Ben then gets fired and ultimately decides to drink himself to death in Las Vegas, a
It was the very late night of Saturday August 1st, when I sat at my computer thinking about how my favorite Vegas site, VegasChatter, cashed out for the last time the day before. My favorite site on the computer screen before me, now frozen in time and never to be updated again. No more unique perspectives, inside words and fresh reviews I had not only grown accustomed to, but checked each day (multiple times).
This past fall break, I got a chance to take a trip to Arizona to visit Grand Canyon University with a friend, Anthony Ward. I thought it would be an awesome opportunity to open up my options for colleges. What I loved most about the program, Discover GCU, is that they covered all the expenses to Arizona and all I payed for was a plane ticket to Oahu. I was so stoked to go but also nervous because I was the only girl from my school and didn't know anyone. Eventually I made friends with a couple girls from Oahu and we became room mates. I have never been to Arizona, I honestly don't fly up to the mainland very often, I have always been here on the Big Island or on the other islands.
Hello there, I’m Caitlin! I’m still adjusting to my new life here in the States, but I am so happy to be here after waiting so long. Over my 24 years on the planet, I grew accustomed to the rolling, green hills dotted with grazing sheep of my homeland in Ireland. The hot, dry desert air and the mountain backdrop are quite a different landscape to awaken to every morning, but I’m getting used to it. I find the fast pace and churning excitement of Las Vegas to be a welcome contrast to the slow, pastoral hum of the Irish countryside. My family thought I was crazy for wanting to try my luck here in the land of gambling and showgirls, but they just don’t understand that wild side is scratching and clawing her way out!
It was a very humid day in Las Vegas, Nevada. There were two really bad kid, and twins. Their names are jack and Mary. Jack and Mary don’t look alike at all. They are poor because there mom has never worked a day in her life.she drinks all of the time. Linda is really mean to Jack and Mary.
I lived in an odd place for a time, all through a single summer I languished in the confines of its chipped sidewalks and heat-warped streets. The air was hot, it felt as if one was within the red-lit depths of an oven set to broil, the June sun cooking all that rested below its unforgiving harangue. The sky was vibrantly blue, like a cerulean drape had been pulled over the surface of the earth. Flashing neon lights and vibrant pink flamingos incessantly reminded me that I was in the boundaries of Fabulous Las Vegas, although I did not particularly want to be. There were aggressive and caustic smells that filled the air: Boiling oils from deep frying, spilled alcoholic beverages, and curious stale cigarette aromas, all of which bothered me
I froze in fear and started sprinting towards the house like a rabbit running from a coyote, I was not prepared for this to happen! It started off a nice day in Lake Tahoe, where my family was on vacation with my brother's baseball team. Besides the insects and spiders that crawled around all over the place, there was nothing really bad about it. What I didn't know, was that those little bugs and spiders were the least of my worries.
I have been on many trips with my family and friends. My grandma and grandpa dave (mema and pepa) have taken me to Texas and Branson, Missouri where I got to do a lot of fun things. In Texas i got to go to Seaworld and in Branson i got to go to shows and museums. My parents have taken me to Texas, Branson, and Las Vegas. In Texas we have some family so we would go visit them and in Branson we would go ride go carts (even though I don't like them) and go to silver dollar city. In Las Vegas we went to an aquarium and a huge candy shop and also got to go see a really amazing show with crazy effects and tricks. I have been on two sort of big school trips. One was to Dallas, Texas and the other to Anaheim, California. In Dallas we went for one of
Don’t let my title mislead you, as this isn't a tale about booze and hook-ups as you might think when you come across this famous quote. Let's start off by clarifying that I mean this in the most negative connotation that what happens in Las Vegas should seriously stay there. Everything about my first trip to the “ fabulous” city I’ve been fantasizing my whole life about was a disaster from start to finish, and I was counting down the minutes until my Monday morning check out so I could get the hell out of there. Picture me, New year’s eve, standing alone with on the Vegas strip with over 300,000 people cramming into a drunken block party of shoulder thuds and baby strollers. I
Well lets just start by saying that basically I had to do this project twice due to the fact that lost my picture for my first story, but hey on the bright side more practice for me. Well this picture was from about five or six years ago when me and my family went to Lake Tahoe during winter break, I was around 8 or 9 back then and it was pretty much the first time ever seen snow in real life (I seen hail a few years before that, but hail isn't exactly snow xD). Anyways the trip lasted around 3 days long which meant that we really only spend one day and two nights at Lake Tahoe. I still remember the road trip there took us around like 8 hours, mostly because driving up in a snowstorm at high speed isn't the exactly consider safe. To be honest, it wasn't a small family trip, my three cousins,
It was april vacation of 2016 and my parents had told me we were going to Arizona and Las Vegas. I was extremely excited, not knowing what the city of Vegas was like or how beautiful Arizona was. We left the day april vacation started and flew into Arizona, and then would spend the next three days visiting the attractions around Phoenix and Sedona. Seeing the Grand Canyon was amazing, even though it started to snow while we were up there and we were all freezing, it was a great experience. On the last day of our time in Arizona, we packed up and drove 5 hours to Las Vegas. It was the prettiest city I had ever seen, and I constantly miss the view. We went shopping, walked the strip, went out to eat and saw all
Everyone loves a “freebie” and in most cases freebies don’t come any bigger than the famed casino bonus. My very first experience of the casino came over ten years ago when some friends and I paid a visit to Las Vegas, while there I spent countless hours at the blackjack table. I knew a bit regarding the basic strategy, so I definitely fancied my chances. After giving it my all I found myself burned by the whole experience, Las Vegas proved to be pretty cruel and my money was gone in very little time at all. At the time I put my experience down to the in-house casino environment. Since then I have headed online and given what has happened I’m glad I did.
The phone line was ringing in slow motion. I heard a calm voice come across the other line saying, “9-1-1, what’s your emergency?” My heart was racing; I never thought I would have to answer this question. This was my first Speech and Debate travel tournament and I was excited to see what the outcome would be. On the flight to Las Vegas I had prepared myself for what seemed like everything; that is, everything related to the topic we would be debating. When I woke up on the morning of the first day of the tournament I was a bundle of nerves. I could not stop talking, I could not stop pacing, I could not stop my voice from quivering, I could not stop the frantic thoughts, and I could not stop thinking I would be a disappointment.
At the airline counter Katie’s new tickets are already waiting, First Class, plus a voucher for food and drinks – nice.
After a long, silent car ride my mom walked me through the airport. We went through security and got to the plane. “Goodbye Izzy, I’ll miss you,” despite how mad I was I had to hug her. “Goodbye mom.” I boarded my flight to New Mexico. The captain said that the flight would be 2 hours. I tried to clear my mind and just watch a movie. I didn’t see any movies I liked, or even knew (apart from the ones I watched when I was younger). I picked a movie that I thought looked good, but it was really boring.
