During our first run Taylor and I noticed that the car was turning way to the left. So in order to fix this we started our car as far to the right of the track as possible. After our first trials we realized that we needed to fix our string. We needed to cut the string we had attached off of our car and make a new one. When we made a new one me made it a little bit longer than the car and only hot glued it to the hook, not to the frame. Our new string had a loop in the end of it so we could put that on the toothpick. So now we understood that the toothpick did have a real purpose and we couldn’t glue the string to the mousetrap. After we made these changes we ran our car three more times.
One of the most important events that happened in my life was just recently, and that was buying my second car. This thought process was in the making for quite a while, considering that I was getting tired of taking my silver Hyundai Elantra in the garage every four months for repairs. For that reason, it made sense that it was time for a new car or a used one, I did not care which all I cared about was that it had to be a manual transmission. In addition, the fact that I outright hate going car shopping, I put it off and off until this past January. Since my mom had surgery that month, she was home and could go car shopping for me, well searching on the computer shopping. Since she was doing that, I did not have to worry about it and she knew what I wanted for a car.
In conclusion, my 1st car was a bust traveling 9.8 cm/s, my 2nd car did pretty well traveling 35.86 cm/s, but wasn’t built very well and lastly my 3rd car was the most successful, traveling 50.16 cm/s. Over the time that I worked on this project my skills really did advance. In the beginning, I was clueless and now, with the materials, I could make another car in a day. I learned a lot from trial and error.
My grandpa got the deal of a lifetime on his truck. He only payed $ 800 it doesn't have a motor in it. My grandpa, my uncle Jack, and I worked on the truck
The first time I drove. So, my grandmother decided to risk here life to teach me to drive for only two blocks. And my grandmother was a horrible teacher because she is used to standard cars and not automatic, so she puts her feet on both the gas pedal and the brake. Anyways, I can't believe that the car seems to go so fast and I was only going 5 mph! And then, I didn't know how to brake and my grandmother almost hit her head on the dash! Luckily, we made it
At sixteen, I received my first job, and by the age of seventeen, I purchased my first car. While the car was only worth about $200.00, I gave the seller $1200.00. Along with overpaying, the car did not have a title of ownership. When I first purchased this car, I had the understanding with the seller that the vehicle had a salvage title, but only a bill of sell was given with the car. However, this was still not my worst experience with this automobile. From the inside to the outside, to under the hood, and even on paper, this car was an illegally procured nightmare.
At the age of 17 all I could think about was having a car. However, I understood that owning a car, I would be required to have a job. This would allow me to pay for insurance, gas and maintenance issues. I also understood buying a car required me to have a driver license. After taking all the necessary steps to purchase my first car. The very first car I bought was a “lemon”.
Waking up the morning that I was meant to leave for my trip, all that I could do was try to will my bladder not to have to use the bathroom and inconvenient amount of times and trying to decipher the correct amount of water that I should drink in order to not have to go. When I woke up a peed, before I left, I peed, when I got to Anna’s house I peed again just for good measure- and that was all within a couple of hours. When we finally left on our 8 hour journey my new mantra was “don’t think about having to pee” which as you can assume was the adverse of what I was trying to do. For the first 3 hours I didn’t have to go, and I was so proud of myself. After that I gained some confidence and was like “I got this, I will pee when
I pull my sweatshirt over my head and walk outside to my truck. Even though the walk to my truck is only a few feet, the bitter cold permeates through my clothes and onto my skin. The black exterior of my truck is tainted by patches of rust and it is spotted with dents. It may not be the best looking, but it is full of character. I pulled open the driver’s side door and was greeted by its familiar squeak, though I never noticed it much anymore. I quickly turned on the heat to the highest fan speed I could, not that it was going to warm things up anytime soon.
A day that I won’t forget is the day I got my driver license. What made it so great is the fact that I could go do what I wanted whenever I wanted. I didn’t have to worry about my parents being right by my side the whole time. I was always making up reasons just to leave the house and get out and drive around, but of course I had to pay for my own gas. It didn’t bother me though. My first vehicle was a ford ranger, wasn’t my favorite, but it worked.
The sound of the engine revving high into the RPMs, my heart pounding fast leaping from one side to the other getting the snowmobile on edge to crave. The corner is coming up in my yard, trying to push myself to the limits, I take the corner as fast as I ever have leaning hard to one side of the snowmobile trying to ensure that it wouldn’t tip. As I was struggling to keep my foot placement on my slippery, snow-covered running boards that then had melted into water I slipped trying to hold on with one foot dragging holding on for dear life.
The challenge, setback, or failure i had was when i was challenge to drive for the first time. I was challenge to drive for the first time was when i got my learners. The day i got my learners i was able to drive but i had to have an adult with a license in the vehicle at all times. I could not go anywhere unless they were in the car. I hated that but it was the law.
It was the day before my seventeenth birthday. It was a cool saturday evening in March. My mother woke me up early that day telling me we are going to see my grandparents. My hair was a mess, tangles in my hair from rolling around at night restless trying to find a comfortable sleeping position. I struggled getting out of my warm, comfortable bed that swallowed my body and made it even harder to find motivation to get up. After a while of contemplating if getting out of bed was a good idea, my mom came back in and pulled the warm blanket off my body and yelled, with her restless voice, to get out of bed and start getting ready. When I finally started getting ready and putting on my make up, which is right after I get out of the shower, she came back in and ask if she could pick out my outfit. At first I thought it was weird and then I came up with a conclusion maybe she was doing this because of my birthday or so I can hurry up and we can leave sooner. As I got ready I was telling my parents about my dream car. It has been my dream to have a black beautiful, two door, four wheel drive, V6 engine, with silver rims, and wheels that are big enough to rock crawl in the mountains, for as far back as I can remember.
It was a crisp December morning, there hadn't been any snow yet, for Dighton rarely sees snow. I had gotten up to play video games before my bullies for brothers would kick me off of it. We had an Xbox back then, an original Stone Age version. It was getting close to Christmas time and the brand new Xbox 360 was coming out, man was I excited. My dad, Lloyd, gave us the illusion we wouldn't be able to dream of a gift like that for this Christmas and to think of another gift idea. Little did we know it was in his closet with the letters SANTA written on it. Before we get too far, I'd like to mention that my dad has been divorced for 4 ½ years at the time, and had just started to talk to Jeannie, my would be step mom. So he decided it was time for a getaway, he asked us our top five places to visit. Among those listed were: Mount Rushmore, The Grand Canyon, The Bahamas, Yellowstone National park, and a few others. The cheapest and most beneficial trip according to cost was the Nassau Bahamas. Our trip would consist of a trip to Orlando, a 4 day round trip cruise, and a once in a lifetime experience.
All I remember on a cold Christmas Eve night was the sound of frantic yells and shattering glass. It all started with a small festive gathering at my best friend’s house. As the smell of freshly baked cookies lingered in the air, I received a call from my worried mother asking me to come home. However, I was not a licensed driver making the situation harder. After making several phone calls to find a ride home, my best friend’s boyfriend offered to take me home in his brand new 2014 Dodge Challenger.
