I listened to my sister and my nephew, and I don’t know what I did. You are supposed to face your fears right? Well that is exactly what I did and I immediately regretted it. I did the most dumbest thing ever, I listened to them and I got hurt, I broke 3 of my toes. Me and my nephew were both about like 5 or 6 and my sister was like about 9 or 10. In our old house we all were jumping on the sofa, then on a chair and last we jumped on the floor. We were all having fun, but the fun ended when I got hurt, both my sister and my nephew dared me to jump on the sofa and then on the floor, I was dumb enough to not move the chair so I could jump on the floor so I went for it. Me being 4 or 5 years old jumped on the sofa, when I was about to jump on the floor my 3 first toes on my right foot hit the chair and then landed bent, so I bent 3 of my toes & those 3 bones broke. …show more content…
When we got to the Children’s Hospital I remembered my dad got their and they took x-rays of my toes and I saw that those 3 bones looked really, really bad they were all broken because of my nephews, sister’s and my fault. Why my fault? Because I listened to them. Then, I remembered that they put a cast on my leg and I had to use crutches. To be honest, I never really used the crutches, I jumped (on my left foot) everywhere in the house, but when I started to go back to school I had to use them (which I didn’t really like.) One of the days I was at school we had like a kind of fitness
When it comes to superheroes, most of them have costumes, nickname, and certain powers that make them unique. The Google definitions of the term “superhero” is “fictional characters with superhuman powers.” In today’s world, there are superheroes who do not have superhuman abilities but use human materials to fight crime. Are those with natural abilities denied the title of a “superhero?”
An archetype is an universal theme or pattern in literature, television, and character. One of today's archetypes is superheroes. They all tend to start from a tragic, usually family death, background, but somehow they constantly want to ameliorate the world. Then at some point, they will discover a gift they have and use their inhuman powers towards the benefit of humanity. However, they all have a weakness that reminds them that they are human. They will learn to cope with their problems and eventually overcome it. My example of this archetype is Supergirl on the CW. Her family dies on Krypton, when it explodes, but sends her to Earth to take care of her cousin (Superman). Because he was already Superman when she arrived, she had
The next day came and I woke up to my mom helping me get up to get in the car to drive 45 minutes from home to attend to an appointment my mom made with an Orthopedic specialist. Luckily, my mom knew the doctor and he told her to have me come immediately. The doctor’s office was so cold but maybe I was also just so anxious to find out what was wrong with my ankle. Was my ankle fractured? Or was my ankle broken? I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I couldn’t stop thinking about the news I was just about to receive because I knew it was more than just a fracture. I wish it was all just a dream but it came to turn out that my ankle was more than just
The publication of Action Comics #1 in 1938, by Jerry Siegel and Joe Schuster, saw the establishment of the superhero with the creation of Superman (Goulart 43). This initiation saw a multitude of comic books and similar facsimiles – all of which led to the inception of the archetype – that are considered mediums of fantasy and simplistic storytelling. Examining the word “superhero” invokes images of “black-and-white caricature” (Spivey and Knowlton 51); a morally upright individual, clad in spandex, who defends a city and its inhabitants while maintaining a good relationship with the public and authorities. This model was challenged by the twelve-issue series
Superheroes and the Mythological characters in stories inspire us to be our better selves …. (In many ways). (Because of their heroism and courageous acts) . One way they inspire us is
If someone says the word superhero, what comes to mind? Is it Superman, or is it Wonder Woman? The overwhelming majority of superhero films tend to be centered around male superhero characters, and when female characters do take the lead, there’s usually not a male character far behind- and why is that? To this day, society still has an idea ingrained into their head that the only strong characters are male characters, and the only people who watch superhero movies are men. Though the female fan base is consistently growing within action movie and comic book culture, female characters are still being over-sexualized, belittled, and left out of marketing. The new wave of feminism has begun to percolate, using new forms of media to continuously
When people hear the word "superhero", they think of the fictional characters from comic books. For example, a Marvel fan might think of Captain American, or a DC fan might think of Superman. But, sometimes, there may be that one person who does not pay attention to fictional superheroes, but the real life heroes of everyday life. For example, a military personnel, in active service or retired, is a real life superhero. Some may not come from noble or rich families, but a person like that does not need material things to make themselves happy when there is a whole world that could make them happy just by an act of courage, no matter how big or small. These men and women go through tough training, physically and mentally, to be able to go out and fight for their country. Although they may not be battling monsters, they ask for God's help in strength and hope for their safety and their friend's safety on the battle field.
The time is midday. the place, New York City where I, James Dalton, and doing my studies in my mother's office. I am an 8th grader at thomas jefferson middle school. At only 14 years old I am a superhero. I should probably give you some background on myself before i reveal my superhero identity.
I was an active child growing up with sports. I started gymnastics at the age of three, and then came soccer, karate, softball, cheerleading, Irish step dancing, basketball, and finally competitive trampoline. I was dedicated to everything that I did, which showed when I received my first-degree black belt at the age of eleven. I loved being involved in so many activities but my heart was truly into soccer, gymnastics and competitive trampoline. I had been lucky enough to not have any medical problems until 2009. I had landed wrong in gymnastics one day and heard a pop in my right foot/ankle, sending shooting pain through my foot. I stopped for a minute but continued through the class thinking the pain would go away but it did not. I finally went to the emergency room a few days later, where I had X rays taken that
In a quest, a hero strives towards a stronger, more agile and skilled version of himself. Like Clark Kent and Peter Parker, oftentimes heroes grapple over two identities. Once this hero gains an upper hand in the battle against his identity crisis, he reaches a higher level. He becomes a master of two worlds. For instance, Naruto conquered the stigma of hosting the monstrous nine-tailed fox and rose to the level of the Hidden Leaf Village’s beloved hero.
I had waited for my mom to arrive at to the school and when she did the nurse had brought me to the car in a wheelchair. We went to prompt care for it, was the closest doctor’s office and they had said that my wrist was broken and I needed to go to the “main” doctor’s office. When we had got there we had made a date to go into surgery and they had re-done my cast and we were on are way. I had waited for the date of the surgery and when it came I was very nervous, but I got out of the surgery fine and then I later got my cast off and felt
We started playing catch. I made a bad throw and he was gonna make me go get it. I yelled at him and told him to get it. He got mad at me and we started to fight. I decided it would be a great idea to come up to him give him kick in the gut. Well he didn’t like that all. He started chasing me around the yard. I got a chance to kick him again, so I did and well that didn’t turn out so hot. I broke both of my forearm bones. The inside bone broke to the inside
That's touching and she should not feel that way she should enjoy her kid life to the fullest, people are going to say what they want to say and she should pay them no mind. I had the chance to a go through a wonderful thing in my life and I would not trade it for anything, I was so proud of my little boy that every time I tell this story it brings tears to my eyes. We have boys out day and that's when me and the boys just go out all day have fun, movies car racing, just fun stuff. This time it was just me, and my youngest and he wanted to go to the movies, I said ask one of your friends if they want to come with us, then you have a buddy to talk to because your brother is not going to here. So he is like dad I'm taking Braden and I'm like who is that and he said the blind kid in my class, I 'm like ok so I guess we not going to the movies then, he is like yeah we going the movies, is alright dad they have this cool stuff in the theater a special ear phones which narrates the whole movie with all the sound effects. To make the long story short Braden is my hero, this kid sense humor is so hilarious he don't let his blindness affect him one bit he leave his life. When we got to the theater everybody was looking at us probably think the same way I did when my son told me he was taking him.
“Excuse me Samantha I know you don't want to have your heart pulled out who does, but growing up is all about learning to do things we don't want to.”
My mom then came with my brother and looked at me and said “no way is her leg broken, she isn’t even crying”. The teacher insisted to take me to the hospital, so my mom, my brother and me headed over to French Hospital. The doctors then took me to the back to get X-rays done, once they finished they came out to the waiting room and told my mom and my brother, “well it’s broken…” and my mom responded “WHAT?? No way! She never even cried”. I then had to go down to Arroyo Grande the next day to get my bright pink cast! Later, I was supposed to medicine to help relieve the pain but, I was never really a person to take medicine. So, I didn’t take any medication throughout the whole time my leg was broken, I also never took medicine up until I was in my last year of middle
