Last summer before school started my sister and I were told that we were going on a trip to Ute Lake in New Mexico. We had never been to New Mexico before, so we were super excited. We were told that we were taking my dad's cousin's jet ski with us. My sister and I could not wait to go to New Mexico.
It was carrying a lot of people from all over the world. I have never been so excited in my life to go to one place. The anticipation was so overwhelming and once again, I could not wait to get to the resort. After a twenty minute bus ride we got to the resort. Once I stepped off the bus I could remember seeing the beautiful palm trees and feeling the heat of the sun beating on my face. I said to my dad, finally we made it and let the fun begin. We got settled and checked into the hotel. My brother and I decided to check the rest of the resort out. The resort had a crystal clear pool with a bar in it. It was amazing and I have never seen anything like it before in my life. The resort also had ten gourmet restaurants and plenty of entertaining things for us kids to do. So, after we did this we went back to our hotel and stayed in for the night. We were beat and just wanted to get some sleep from the long day of

It was a very humid day in Las Vegas, Nevada. There were two really bad kid, and twins. Their names are jack and Mary. Jack and Mary don’t look alike at all. They are poor because there mom has never worked a day in her life.she drinks all of the time. Linda is really mean to Jack and Mary.
It was the very late night of Saturday August 1st, when I sat at my computer thinking about how my favorite Vegas site, VegasChatter, cashed out for the last time the day before. My favorite site on the computer screen before me, now frozen in time and never to be updated again. No more unique perspectives, inside words and fresh reviews I had not only grown accustomed to, but checked each day (multiple times).
Hello there, I’m Caitlin! I’m still adjusting to my new life here in the States, but I am so happy to be here after waiting so long. Over my 24 years on the planet, I grew accustomed to the rolling, green hills dotted with grazing sheep of my homeland in Ireland. The hot, dry desert air and the mountain backdrop are quite a different landscape to awaken to every morning, but I’m getting used to it. I find the fast pace and churning excitement of Las Vegas to be a welcome contrast to the slow, pastoral hum of the Irish countryside. My family thought I was crazy for wanting to try my luck here in the land of gambling and showgirls, but they just don’t understand that wild side is scratching and clawing her way out!
I lived in an odd place for a time, all through a single summer I languished in the confines of its chipped sidewalks and heat-warped streets. The air was hot, it felt as if one was within the red-lit depths of an oven set to broil, the June sun cooking all that rested below its unforgiving harangue. The sky was vibrantly blue, like a cerulean drape had been pulled over the surface of the earth. Flashing neon lights and vibrant pink flamingos incessantly reminded me that I was in the boundaries of Fabulous Las Vegas, although I did not particularly want to be. There were aggressive and caustic smells that filled the air: Boiling oils from deep frying, spilled alcoholic beverages, and curious stale cigarette aromas, all of which bothered me
I’ve never been to Reno, Nevada, but, have been to Las Vegas and like Reno there were obviously slot machines everywhere even the airport. I have to say, although I’m not from a small town the culture there was certainly different so I can definitely relate. The town I currently live in is quite rural in comparison to my home town and is a mix of northern transplants as well as those that stay only during the winter months. However, although not as small in population compared to yours when I first moved here I felt completely lost. Oddly enough, unlike most small towns it wasn’t as friendly as I imagined, in fact my home town was friendlier even though it’s considered a city. Since I’ve moved here the population has increased, there are definitely
I wasn’t much of a golfer prior to relocating to Las Vegas, but I now work with a group who arranges outings on a regular basis, and I have been pretty excited with my progression in a pretty short time. I would actually get out to play more often, but I’m convinced there is no such thing as cheap golf in Vegas, but there is affordable golf in Vegas. So I jump on every opportunity to hit a new course when I find deals, a lot of times through Vegas Groupon. However, more often than not, Vegas golf deals on Groupon are for outlying areas.
Ever since I found out my softball team could make it to California for Nationals I knew this would be our goal for the summer. Now here is where the challenging part came in, we only had three chances to make it to California. We made it, we were lucky enough to make our goal in the third chance.
It was a hot summer day in Arizona me and my cousin were outside playing football when his dog Jack managed to open the backyard gate and get out. When we noticed we ask everyone in the house if they had seen him everyone in the house gave us the same depressing answer we were afraid of they said no so the first thing we did was open the front gate and take off using our feet and try to catch Jack. The first place we saw jack was in between a street called E.Jefferson as soon as my cousin saw him he bolted to try to catch him but he got cut off by the passing traffic jack also bolted and ran into the alley we used the fact that jack was in the alley to our advantage we ran him into a corner and trapped him,but jack was quicker and ran right through
On my way to one of the greatest concerts, thoughts were swirling around my head. How good will this really be? Will I make it out alive tonight? Was it worth the wait? The thought that the next highly anticipated song that plays may cause a riot so large it ends my life. I soon found out after I entered the House of Blues, or rather, as I prepared to enter The Rodeo.
I’m from Tucson, Arizona; I’ve lived here my whole life. I travel to California every other year due to having family there. I have two young siblings, one is named Cole, he is one-year-old and the other is Koen, a 5-year-old. I dislike getting called on to speak in front of the class I get anxiety and feel like throwing up… My mom is a fourth grade teacher, I live with her, her boyfriend, who is a sheriff, and my two brothers. For hobbies, I listen to music, do puzzles, read, eat, play with my dogs and draw. As a student, my weaknesses are; test anxiety, time-restrictions, I procrastinate and I get distracted easily. However, last year a 504-plan was installed, so that’s taken care of. I’m inspired by Malala Yousafzai to continue school and
What makes California a special state? When someone says California, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? California has many people from a wide variety of ethic, racial, religious backgrounds, and I am one of people who live in California. My journey to California began when I was seventeen. Back to my life in Turkey, when I graduated from high school, the only thing I wanted to do is to learn English. Thus, I decided to leave Turkey for a different way of life, and I came to California, because I thought California was the best state in order to live my life and achieve my goal. It is known as a sunshine state. However, “the reality is that the sun does not always shine, and when it does, it is often blocked by smog”. Why I felt
