After attending several different denominational churches being raised, I soon stopped attending churches except for an occasional special program. I entered the military, attended several worship services and got nowhere. I did go to church but it was sporadic for several years then not at all. I did get married in the church I attended most being raised and that was all, I went back one more time then stopped attending at all. I was active duty military (1 1/2 years) and was being shipped to South East Asia, got married and then left for a year. When I returned from South East Asia I only attended church maybe 10 or 12 times in following 25 years. Nothing interested me and I had no desire to listen to something I had no understanding of or …show more content…
I knew several of the people attending. The church was open and inviting, the pastor made it a mission to visit us at our home and that was different. The pastor is what made a difference I believe. He presented sermons I could relate to and applied them in my teachings to new student airmen. Pastor Ernie kept the membership involved and active in community things. When I completed my teaching work and fully retired, we moved back to our home in Myrtle Beach, a house that my wife had built. We looked for a Lutheran Church here in Myrtle Beach and had some difficulty finding one that "appealed" to us. We attended several churches some several times and came up empty. Still desiring a church connection I did find a church that I liked but my wife did not. I kept attending and still do. The president of the Advisory Board welcomed me in and kept me involved. I became very active and still am. I asked the pastor to baptize me as I had no record of a baptism ever taking place in my life. He was glad to do so. I was eventually elected to the president's position and carried on for a year. Work schedules prevented me from accepting other positions in the church as I continued attending as much as
It's a Friday afternoon, I plan to go to Great Wolf Lodge in an hour with my church. I see one of my friends so he says to his mom “ Hey, that's my friend” I said “Crap” So I go inside to sign in to go and see my friends just sitting in a corner on a big sofa. We are listening to music and just talking then a green bus comes.
I have lived in only one location my entire life: Edwardsville, Illinois. A peripheral suburb of St. Louis, it stands as the rare oasis of people in a desert of corn, pinned in its own personal bubble. Due to this blend of time and isolation, I developed a natural familiarity with my hometown. But, throughout my childhood, I longed to break free from the confines of the bubble and venture outward. However, this changed last summer, as I walked through Richards Brickyard, our family heirloom, that my great-grandfather, Benjamin Richards, founded over 120 years ago. I felt these childlike sentiments slip away. The bubble that had surrounded me for so long began to vanish, and the picture that it had been obscuring was slowly revealed.

I'VE BEEN SUPER EXCITED FOR THIS TO COME OUT!!! For those who don't know this is one of my anticipated of the year (you can check out my list if you haven't already, I posted it in September). But since this is the last book of the series I don't feel the need to write a very long non-spoiler review. I won't write the reasons why I love this series so much in my Top Ten list if you would like to check that. The series starts out in this futuristic world where a young girl named Cinder catches the eye of Prince Kai, the future empire of the Common Wealth. The only problem is that she's a cyborg, part-human part-robot. For this book, I would give it about a 4/5 stars. I was definitely a great read but it wasn't my favorite book in the series, I honestly felt that Cress was the best book, then

On 10/30/2017, I Deputy Mignone #95 was assigned to Intake/Release. At approximately 1600 hours, I was called to cell HD-6 to assist with giving an inmate his medication. I met my supervisor Sergeant Johnson #150 along with multiple other officer. I witness inmate Matthew Spradlin standing in the cell with feces on his head and face. Inmate Spradlin stated that he had been eating his own feces and drinking his own urine. I was informed that Dr. Dahner had ordered a shot due to inmate Spradlin’s behavior.
This assignment brought me closure, the making of “The rose that grew from the concrete” brought me to tears literally. My sons birthday took place on a Saturday, and the drawings and final cuts of the paper were made the night before Friday. I made arrangements before hand, and decorated the basement with a Teen Titans theme on Thursday. I was feeling bitter sweet about my sons birthday since he was turning five. I believe that this year was harder one me, since he had just started school for the first time. As I pressed play on my final product a million things ran through my head.
One, Two, Three, I heard them counting while I was under water holding my breath as they pushed on my head so I stayed down. I felt like I was slowly dying, and if that’s how it feel to die underwater, I’d rather die in my sleep. It got to the point where I couldn’t hold my breath any longer. I hit someone’s leg so they would know to let me go. I slowly rose up. “Thirty five seconds” said Michelle. That’s how long I could hold my breath underwater. “I’m a little fish,” I said to myself. However, Danny went next and sadly, he tied up to me. After Brianna and Justyn went, I was no longer in first place. We decided to hold off on the game and take a break for a little while. Michelle was known as a fish, she could live in the water is she
February 4, 2007 was a day of celebration for my whole family. That day my family gathered around in the living room and cheered on the Colts to victory in the Super Bowl. This day was the anticipated highpoint of my school conversations for the past week. My dad was in his leather chair drinking his favorite Raspberry Snapple Tea. My mom, siblings and I were crowded around on leather couches in our living room. We were all close in age. I was ten years old in fourth grade, my sister was eleven in fifth grade, and my brother was thirteen in sixth grade. I didn’t understand football that much as a fourth grader, but I always looked forward to the Super Bowl commercials. I still remember one of the commercials that affected me the most. In the
Bbrriiinngg! The alarm clock rang as I woke up to see sunlight pouring in through my bedroom window the day had finally arrived the first day of school I spent so much time worrying over this one day I got out of bed got dressed and had breakfast I was very anxious about starting a new school in a new state as I shove the last bite of cereal into my mouth I started to worry what if nobody liked me how could I make it through the year I had to stop thinking about everything that could go wrong and start thinking about the below opportunities when my dad pulled up to the front of the school I felt like I had a million little butterflies fluttering in my stomach I got out of the car and walked to the big black metal doors shining in the sunlight
On January 29, 2018 the dispatcher put out a call of shots being fired at College Villa apartments. I responded to the call and made my in that direction from the station. I was in route when the dispatcher said that individuals were getting into a white vehicle and leaving the apartments. Sergeant Holter was in front of me as we were driving south on Ladnier road. He spotted a vehicle leaving College Villa apartments and turn onto West Park drive. It matched the description given and he followed it. He followed it as it stopped at a house on West Park. He advised that someone was running from the vehicle and headed towards College Park school. I passed West Park and drove to the school parking lot parallel to Holter's position. I found no one in the area and proceeded to go to College Villa. I made my wy to the back of the complex and saw a black male standing outside of one of the apartments.
One try. Straight to voicemail. So far. it had been a day since she heard from him. A
