I was glued at the tv, watching game seven of the NBA finals. The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors were tied at 89 with 1:05 left on the clock. The Cavaliers had the ball after a clutch block by Lebron James. Kyrie Irving was dribbling the ball down the court to the three point. Everyone knew that this possession would make or break these two teams while series and season. Irving tried to a pick and roll in order to get a mismatch or an open pass, to no avail. I was at the edge of my seat, wondering what Kyrie was going to do. He then at the three point line sized up Steph Curry, put in a quick step back move, and took the three point shot with the foot of space he had just opened. My heart had stopped from all the
“Come on guys,” I yelled. I heard the screech of the referee’s whistle. Rushing to the bench, I heard the referee call out “Timeout, Heat.” Everything was on the line and our team’s championship hopes, being foremost on our team’s minds, was all coach could scream about. “I’m not going to tell you how to play basketball,” he yelled out. “That’s your job. I’m just going to say that right now, to us, this is a championship game. If we win this, we move on to the championship. If not, at least let us fall valiantly.” That got the whole team riled up as we rushed back onto the court. The crowd, encouraging as always, yelled out their approval on the fact that we were giving it our all. With just sixteen seconds left in the game and our team down by four, something special had to happen or we were done for the season.
time." We made the free throws. Paonia inbound the ball, took it up the court,
Sometimes when we see when we’re down by five or so we’ll take a quick three, instead of a two. We have to keep pushing, and control the tempo of the game. It's easy to talk about it now. It hard to do it when you're out there on the court but that's when veterans come in.
Many calls were not made throughout the game especially near the the fourth quarter. Calls were made against the raptors but not for them. DeRozan was going in for a lay up and was smacked, however no foul was called. This made DeRozan mad and he received a technical foul for questioning the officials. Later, he was ejected with Ibaka and coach Dwane Casey. Raptors lost a lot of players in that game, with Kyle Lowry fouled out within a short amount of time left and Fred Vanfleet with an injury. A lot of rookies were left to hold the team. Delon Wright turned it up but with all the technicals, OKC got a lot of free shots. This was a devastating game for the audience and especially, for the players.
Then later on Mudiay started firing and he couldn’t miss leading his team to a ten point run. Now the score was 68-67 with two minutes to go and the team’s tempo slowed down again. Within the thirty second mark no one was scoring, but when LeRoyal drove in he dumped the ball off to Kareem who got fouled on the shot. Kareem then stood at the line and took the first shot, Clank! There still was hope for Mudiay’s team. Then when Kareem took the second shot he drained it, making sure to not making the same mistake. With only twelve seconds left Coach James decided to call a timeout.
A record number of eight 50s were handed out, and that total could have been higher if “Russian” judge Shaquille O’Neal had not handed out a pair of 9s on Gordon and LaVine attempts in the opening round. As the contest progressed, both dunkers were forced to make up dunks up on the fly following a Championship Round in which both dunkers posted dual 50s. Gordon and LaVine consulted with other players on the sideline as they tried to come up with new material on the spot. Both dunkers repeatedly sent the Canada Centre crowd into a frenzy with a record six consecutive perfect scores as the event morphed into a sudden death dunk-off where putting up anything less than a 50 was likely to lose the competition. That’s exactly what happened when Gordon posted a 47 on his final dunk and LaVine kept his perfect streak alive with a windmill dunk from just inside the free throw line to take the
The Monarchs grabbed the rebound, dribbled down the court, and with 3 seconds to go in the
Leading 28-23 after the first quarter, Cleveland stretched its lead to as many as 21 points in the second quarter. When Cavs power forward Tristan Thompson converted a layup and free throw following a foul on the play, Cleveland secured a hefty 61-42 lead. When Thompson threw down a dunk in traffic on Cleveland’s next possession, the Cavs had their largest lead of the half, 63-42. Cleveland took a 63-48 lead into halftime.
My phone kept going off with notifications. LeBron James announced he will be playing for the Cavaliers next season. It really was a dream come true. I think everyone in the state of Ohio was ecstatic. I could not stop smiling for at least an hour. I just kept thinking about when he played for the Cavs before he left for Miami. I think LeBron made the right choice for his career by leaving the Cavs that year. It was clear that he needed help to win a championship and, for seven years, the Cavaliers could not give him any. Now that he has won two championships, gained a ton of experience, and knowledge it’ll help us win even more. I was at the first game that the Cavs and Heat played each other since LeBron had left Cleveland. Downtown Cleveland was crazy that night. There were signs all over the city with offensive words towards him. There were also many people yelling bad things towards him. I heard the loudest boo’s and chants of my life when they announced his name in the player introductions. Every time LeBron touched the ball, the arena erupted with boo’s. It truly was unreal. The game was very bad also. They ended up winning by about twenty-five or something. I was very upset after the
However, as Nowitzki was about to post up Irving for the game-tying attempt with less than 10 second remaining in the fourth quarter, Irving stole the ball and was fouled by the future Hall of Famer. The Cavs point guard sank two free throws to ice the game.
It all started mid January a few years back. My father asked me if I wanted to go to an Atlanta Hawks basketball game because, the Miami Heat would be in town to play. So of-course I said yes! He ended up getting four tickets through his company which meant Amazing seats that were pretty much court side. Dad told me I could invite anyone I wanted and that he was inviting my friend Anthony’s Dad Tony.
When Cavs power forward Kevin Love sank two free throws, followed by an Irving steal and layup, Cleveland took its first lead of the game, 98-97 with 2:43 remaining. Trailing again with 1.8 seconds showing on the clock, Irving missed a game-tying three-point attempt but the shot clanged off the rim as the final horn sounded.
Lebron scored 11 points in 4th quarter , Frye scored 20 in entire game.Kyrie Irving scored 19 and Kevin Score 17 between first and third quarter because fourth quarter they did not play.In third quater Frye made and three pointer shot with the help of James asist and puts them in front of the Hornets by three points ,so the score was now
There was just something about her, as soon as I laid my eyes on her I just knew I fell in love. I guess it’s true what they say you can fall in love at first sight. But at first I felt like I just wasn't good enough for her, I felt like if I even tried I would just embarrass myself. But the way she just worked on that hardwood floor just gave me goosebumps and shivers going down my spine. When I isolate myself with her four countless hours it made me forget about everyone else in this world it felt like we were the only ones.
It is 12 am and my team and I are playing against the Golden State Warriors.
