The calendar marks March 2, 2016. It was around 6:30 pm or so and Nadya have just got home from school after a long day. Before she was able to get comfortable, her mom handed her an eight by eleven-inch white envelope in the mail with the print Culinary Institute of America at the top left without a single word coming out of her mouth. This could only mean one thing, but she didn't want to get her hopes too high. She nervously opened the eight by eleven-inch white envelope and slowly pulled out the letter that was in it. She then took it out of the envelope and read the letter to herself while her mother stood there watching. After reading the first line and ignoring the rest even though it was just as important as the first line, she screamed and then her mom followed. She had just found out that she was accepted to her dream school, The Culinary Institute of America.
She has always loved food and enjoyed learning how to make it. In fact, when she was little, she would watch her mom bake these delicious pastries and wanting to do the

As a fundraiser for her trip to Europe last year and for every special occasion whether it was for a birthday or a wedding, she remembered baking cupcakes and turning on the oven light to watch the cupcake mix ooze to form its shape. As the cupcakes were forming, she clearly remembered it filling the air in her house with the smell of sweets, which is a signal that the cupcakes were nearly ready. To be sure that it was ready, she took a toothpick to test it to see if there were any signs that said otherwise. The next part which is her favorite is decorating the cupcakes with everything ranging from frosting, marshmallows, different types of cookie crumbs, and chocolate. From the moment that she experienced baking and decorating these cupcakes, she discovered the love that she has for Culinary Arts and here she is now at her dream school that is known for Culinary
A time when I tried something new was when I tried a burrito at a Mexican restaurant. Before I ate a burrito I never did like Mexican food, because I didn’t like trying new things. Ever since I ate that burrito, I had loved burritos because I tried something new.
Thesis- Finding your favorite pastry can be very hard with so many choices to choose from; however, when examining cookies or cupcakes one notices cookies are far more superior due to their convenience, flavors, and quality.
Baking is Alanna’s ultimate hobby. Alanna bakes almost every Saturday. Her favourite dessert to bake
Weighing everything out and all those measurements, everything has to be exact from start to finish. Taking those raw ingredients, combining them and then you have this beautiful fancy dessert. The creativity and artistry that comes along with pastries, you don’t necessarily have in cooking. You can get creative in cooking with food but not the same type of creativity as you can when you’re working with chocolate or sugar and everything else. That’s the real drive and motivator” he said.
“YAY! I finally graduated! Villanova University Class of 2015!” “Now it’s time to enjoy a meal with the family.” These were words that I said the day of my graduation in May of this past year. I am sitting here now reminiscing on this very important day in my life. All this nostalgia is getting me hungry, so I decided to take a trip to the Cheesecake Factory to re-live the experience. From the outside, the Cheesecake Factory looked like a big castle; the inside was huge. The lighting was really pretty, especially at night. They have a nice cheesecake display that could be admired as soon as one enters the restaurant. I could smell the rich, decadent cheesecakes. The seating is either tables or booths. The restaurant was very inviting. The
While i was heading to the Food shelf, i found myself getting excited to clean the food shelf. From what i remembered from last week, the place was chaotic. From the start of the service learnings, i would think to myself "i wanted to help the food shelf the best I can." and heading towards the class today. i remembers
The moment I stepped onto The University of Tulsa’s campus, I immediately felt at home. The atmosphere was so positive, and everyone was so friendly. Community and family is extremely important to me when it comes to excelling in college. Coming from a medium sized high school, I am looking for a college that is small but still has enough people that I don’t know every person I come across. I would also like to attend a Division 1 school. Being the smallest Division 1 university, you get the best of both worlds at The University of Tulsa. The University of Tulsa is only 30 minutes from my house, so it is close to home, but also far enough away that I can still have the “college experience” everyone wants. I am also very attracted to the research
Four years of college, a lot of learning, but lost as to my real purpose in life. This was reality in my final semesters of my Baccalaureate program, that is until I signed up for Ceramics I in the Fall of 2013 to curb the curiosity I held for clay since my first tub of air-dry clay at seven years old. After my first month in the ceramics studio under Piero Fenci my childlike wonder and excitement was reawakened. I knew that I had to continue working in and learning everything about this amazing medium.
ay 9th, 2017 was the day that essentially my whole life had changed. Essentially for about ten days straight prior to May 9th, I had checked Campusnet consistently to see the status of my application as a College Credit Plus student at Cleveland State University. Within those ten days, I had thought about all the nights I had dedicated to my education rather than enjoy myself as a teenager. Through out the process of applying to Cleveland State University, I truly doubted myself as I usually do. Many thoughts that most teenagers don't often think about constantly popped up. However, when I checked my campus net account on May 9th at 9:45 p.m., my whole life had changed in what felt like a split second. My heart felt less heavy and I found
Since the advent of this dream, which she could no longer date or situate, she had shied away from too avid appetites, though she still possessed them, and had approached food cautiously, sometimes renouncing it altogether. While her ideal remained food of luscious sweetness and drippings – jellies, puddings, custards – she trained herself to eat only what was natural, and little enough of that still. Fear of missing the ring kept her teeth closed before the fork could penetrate them, kept her eyes on her plate, seeing in one rapid survey what the food might conceal, and raising her head at last, as if to say, there is nothing for me in this, knowing that the dream would go on, and more, so that she could visualise the cake and the ring even when she was awake, so that if she longed for sweet food, as she frequently did, she would immediately see the ring falling on the plate, after which the food would be
When I got the admission from MC college, I was living in different city, and one of my clause friend from Alabama told me a lot of bad things about people who work’s in MS college, and student and how they treat international student because he used to study here. I thought that will be a difficult time especially if you going to spend a long time with people who don’t like you.
I worked in McDonalds for 4 months when I was in high school 25 years ago. I left to get married and move to Kentucky with Military Husband. I also have worked in several dietary fields'. I worked for IBP meat slaughter in Josilin Il. for 9 months before leaving to move back home nearer my parents.
On Saturday, November 12th, I went to a Northern Iowa basketball game with my friend. This was my first athletic event that I attended on campus. I was very excited to see how the atmosphere was like at the McLeod Center. The Panthers were playing Coe College from Cedar Rapids. There was not a lot of students there, so my friend and I were able to get good seats for the game.
Before my grandmother was a Mimis, She was a Deabenderfer. Her grandparents were Buggeys. In the Buggeys household on friday nights boxing was the highlight. Many times the middle room was the way to the bathroom. So the kids were forced to walk around the house, rain or shine to get to the bathroom. In 2010, one of my grandmothers cousins asked to have me signed up for boxing. The idea of myself dishing out my childhood pains and bad memories was like finding a diamond in the rough. My Grandparents (grandmother) said no. So that was the end of that. My brother had a sixth graduation and dinner, my sisters came to my house after the graduation and turned on the UFC. It was nothing like I saw before. It was fighting. I had no clue who the fighters
I would invite first Chef Ramsey because I would want good food. I'd want him to teach me how to cook some good meals for my family. I would want to taste his best dishes. I would want him to show my mom how to cook some good meals also.
