Hello everyone, I’m Exotic. My last weekend was interesting. On Monday our class had the presentation about the Great Lakes. We talked about the largest freshwater system of Earth. Canada has five Great Lakes. I learned how to save water and why it is so important for our lives. On Thursday we had presentation too. The guest speaker talked about the Solid Waste. I learned about waste and garbage and the differences between these terms. We had an interesting exercise about, the amount of time it takes for garbage to break down. This exercise gave me a lot of understanding, for example, how easily people are destroying the animal’s ecosystem. People around the world are responsible for it. On Friday, my husband and I have “dating evenings”,
Some Michigan Heroes can be people that helped you in life or helped you succeed in life. My Michigan Hero is someone that raised me, taught me everything I know in life today. This person is my idol, that gave me a hand when I needed one, or told me to keep my head up and never look down. I wouldn’t know what to do in life if this person wasn’t in it.
Red Lake Ontario a place that I’ve been But only in my dreams in the last year and ten It’s always been with the boys, mainly my son I invite you into my dreams because you’re my special one. The cabin on the hill faces north over the lake But as the sun set down theres not even a wake
While we sat in our rambling tan and yellow cabin among the trees at 416 Spencer Falls Lane at Big Bear Lake, we watched the gloomy rain fall all morning long. Finally, the storm passed and the dark gray clouds passed over, the sun shone brightly on the wet grass. Yes, the day soon was as pleasant as any other august day, of course we knew it was frequently the case with a warm summer rain. This time, however, the rain had swelled the river washed away our small wooded bridge. Elaine my youngest sister sat beside the washed out bridge, she was so unhappy because it was loss. It was then that a shiny blue convertible drove up beside her, the four of us, our names are: William, Martina, Ella and David, watched as the car approached, it was around
I also wrote about "Once More to the Lake", but I enjoy long descriptive sentences. When you read your chosen sentence, did it give you a feeling or, bring you back to a moment in your past? When I read that sentence, it brings me back to laying on the beach smelling the the salty air and listening to the
“When she asked how I was, I lied, I told her every thing was fine and Bobbi had stopped in the day before. I felt bad, but why did it matter when I was heading home anyway (S.A. Bodeen 17).” Robbi was a girl who had grown up on a humble island labeled Midway, but every year in june she would visit her aunt AJ, who lived in Honolulu. This year AJ had to cut her time with Robbi short as she had to attend a spontaneous business trip. AJ had planned on her peer Bobbi to check in on Robbi periodically as Robbi would be staying another week at her aunt's alone. The night AJ had left Robbie went on a walk down the street to a popular McDonald’s, on her way back she found herself nearly kidnapped as she sprinted back to her aunt's apartment
It was one beautiful morning day my sister and I woke up and we had to go to the hospital because we found out my dad Daniel Snyder had cancer. That day was not so much beautiful after all, nothing was working out right. We tried to move on but, it was very hard. My family loved him so much more than he would ever know. It was more than saying I love you to the moon and back it was like infinity times there and back. You might think of some heroes like hulk or Benjamin Franklin, who made electricity for our world, but, I think of someone totally different an inspiring man, my step dad Scott. Someone came into my life Scott my step dad. I picked my step dad for my Michigan hero because he was here for my family
My personal michigan hero would be my mom because she has always been here for me, through the think, and even the thin. I was adopted when I was 4 months old. She found out that she couldn’t carry a baby because of her severe scoliosis. So she waited for a long time to bring home her little bundle of joy. Even though I am adopted, we both have a lot of things in common. For instance, we have the same allergic reaction to mangos, we are both 4 foot 11 ½ inches and, we have the same golden brown hair.
This summer, I received an invitation to stay at my friend’s house on the Rappahannock River. During my stay, we spent the majority of our time outdoors amongst the nature and wildlife. Upon our arrival, we dropped everything and grabbed the canoes. As we set off, I looked at my surroundings. While the water was calm, peaceful, and a comforting shade of dark blue, something else grabbed my attention: the litter. Near the docks, I could not help but notice the bright yellow Lay’s potato chip bag and the six pack rings from someone’s soda. Seeing the trash just floating in the water frustrated me. Here I was in this gorgeous environment, and my eyes cannot stray from a potato chip bag! As I floated away, there was little I could do. However,
My Michigan hero is not just a hero but is my grandma, she was always there for me through my ups and downs. Every day after school are used to go to her house, she would have Mack and cheese waiting for me on a little SpongeBob plate in front of the TV with SpongeBob on the TV. She was like my other half whenever I needed her the most she was there. She used to go shopping with me and my mom all the time and take us out for lunch. I alway imagined her being there with me all my life but that all changed. Just a couple years ago she had passed away and that was the hardest day of my life. I remember not wanting to go to her funeral because I couldn't stand seeing all the memories and pictures of us together. When I first walked into the room I just
My Michigan hero is my grandpa Jack. The reason my grandpa Jack is my Michigan hero is because he's kind, funny, and a kid at heart. We have always had fun times laughing till are stomach's hurt and there were tears running down are faces. When I think of the definition of hero I think of fun, loving, and caring. All the memories I have of my grandpa are all good there's to many to name but here's a few snowmobiling, sledding, and boating. That is why my grandpa Jack is and always will be my Michigan hero.
When you think of someone who would be a hero from your state, you would probably come up with a person who was an astronaut, sports player, an actor or somebody who has saved many lives. It may come to you as a shock when I tell you my personal Michigan hero is my older brother Jacob. Jacob is only 2 years older than me, but has gone through so much. He was diagnosed with Autism when he was two years old. He didn’t talk until he was 5 years old and has struggled and worked so hard to get where he is at today. Kids with autism are all different, but my brother Jacob is definitely one of a kind. He has a hard time saying the words he wants to say and at the same time loves talking. He is a Special Olympics athlete
Growing up in Northern Michigan and having family members from all over the state meant that my family traveled around quite a bit to see all of the natural wonders that Michigan has to offer. From the time I was born until now I have lived in the same neighborhood (Lake Arrowhead). When I was in fifth grade my parents divorced but because both of them loved the neighborhood so much my mom kept our house and my dad built a new home about three miles away but still in the same neighborhood. I use to think this was strange that my parents were divorced but still lived in the same subdivision, as I got older I realized it was because they both shared the same love for the Lake and wanted their children to be raised by the water. This neighborhood is special for many reasons, it is a private neighborhood, there is many miles of trails for ATVs, a private pool, and most importantly there is the actual lake arrowhead lake (Buhl Lake).
When people are on winter break, most want to go out and play in the snow, but who knew that the snow could be one's worst nightmare when stubbornness comes into play. Most people go out on an enjoyable snow-white day to sled down snowy hills and fling semi-hard snowballs at each other. No one would think that maybe sledding down the snowy hills could be so dangerous when they are having fun, and trying to show off. I certainly did not think that it was dangerous, but boy was I so wrong. Normally being a Los Angeles girl, going up to Big Bear is such an amazing experience, because down in the Los Angeles region it does not snow at all. However, I was not ready to face what was slowly going to change me in the mountains of California.
Despite what some oldest or middle children might like to believe, being the youngest in a family of six complicated my childhood and often left me to feel extraneous in the shadows of my older brothers. After years of this belittlement, I grew into an independent, curious individual who wants nothing more than an opportunity to do something greater than what is expected of me, and Northwestern is the perfect place for me to achieve my dreams.
In conclusion, My Favorite place is the Great Lakes. The Great Lakes are one of the most famous places in America. There were a lot´s of fish, birds, and turtles in the Great Lakes. There were so many activities you can do at The Great Lakes. Like kayaking, surfing, and much more. Hopefully, you and your family can go to The Great Lakes and have some fun with my Dad, Samual, and I did.
