The song starts with hamilton along in his room, in a city away from his family. You can obviously that he is stressed and tired, and a little bit homesick. When out of nowhere this bombshell Mariah Reynolds knocks on his door and pleads for help. She greets Hamilton with: I know you are a man of honor I’m so sorry to bother you at home But I don’t know where to go, and I came here all alone… By this, she shows her vulnerability which to me foreshadows a possible seduction. she then explains herself a little bit more, and we find out about her rocky relationship with her husband who abandoned her My husbands doin’ me wrong Beatin’ me, cheatin’ me, mistreatin’ me... Suddenly he’s up and gone I don’t have the means to go on Hamilton, being
It's a Friday afternoon, I plan to go to Great Wolf Lodge in an hour with my church. I see one of my friends so he says to his mom “ Hey, that's my friend” I said “Crap” So I go inside to sign in to go and see my friends just sitting in a corner on a big sofa. We are listening to music and just talking then a green bus comes.
I have lived in only one location my entire life: Edwardsville, Illinois. A peripheral suburb of St. Louis, it stands as the rare oasis of people in a desert of corn, pinned in its own personal bubble. Due to this blend of time and isolation, I developed a natural familiarity with my hometown. But, throughout my childhood, I longed to break free from the confines of the bubble and venture outward. However, this changed last summer, as I walked through Richards Brickyard, our family heirloom, that my great-grandfather, Benjamin Richards, founded over 120 years ago. I felt these childlike sentiments slip away. The bubble that had surrounded me for so long began to vanish, and the picture that it had been obscuring was slowly revealed.
Lin-Manuel Miranda created this rap song, along with nearly fifty others, to create a broadway production, Hamilton, that has been incredibly successful over the past year. In this particular song, Miranda outlines the life of Alexander Hamilton from the role of Hamilton. Starting from the young life of Hamilton, they reference his education and the death of his mother. Then, it clearly details Hamilton traveling to New York to start a new life. It then references a few key people that Hamilton will meet throughout his life without stating their names; one of those people being Aaron
Growing up with a father in the military, you move around a lot more than you would like to. I was born just east of St. Louis in a city called Shiloh in Illinois. When I was two years old my dad got the assignment to move to Hawaii. We spent seven great years in Hawaii, we had one of the greatest churches I have ever been to name New Hope. New Hope was a lot like Olivet's atmosphere, the people were always friendly and there always something to keep someone busy. I used to dance at church, I did hip-hop and interpretive dance, but you could never tell that from the way I look now.
Hamilton begins with the song “Alexander Hamilton” which gives the audience a brief overview of his life and pulls them in, wanting to see more of the musical. I was incredibly excited. School was starting tomorrow. The first few days were just icebreakers, learning everyone’s names, blah blah blah. Then the real learning began. Of course, teachers started to write our lessons on the board. I started to notice a few changes in what I was seeing. The words they were writing were just...black lines! I didn’t pay much attention to it, I just asked my friends what the board said. As the year went on, it affected me more and more, especially in math. I saw a 2 as a 6, and and an A as an 8.
Over my years of school, one big influence on me has always been sports. Ever since a young age, I have always enjoyed playing and watching sports. In my four years in high school, I have fell in love with the sport of lacrosse.
Right away, she has him thinking, asking him questions that he’d never before thought to ask. For example, she really gets him upset when she asks him one very simple thing, “Are you happy?” (page 7). And initially, Guy thinks of it as a nonsensical inquiry. Until he begins to wonder and think, and eventually, there is much more wondering and thinking than there had
That was a lot of money, and I didnt want to let Tony down so I got in the car and started to drive. As I drove the road was empty. I had confidence I was not going o get caught. It was a slightly wormer day out witch might have been because the sun was out. I had the windows down and was blaring music just trying to enjoy life when a cop pulls out behind me.
Prize for Drama and they walked away with twelve trophies at the Tony’s. One of the most popular songs is “Alexander Hamilton,” the opening number of the show. This song tells us the story of the rest of the show, bringing excitement and joy for what is coming next. The song is very upbeat and fast to give you a sense of the hip hop touch of the show. The writer, Lin-Manuel Miranda, was inspired to write this when he read the biography of
She flirts, or comes off as flirting, because she doesn’t know another way to get men’s attention. However, the era’s general feeling towards “loose” women, especially married women, and the threat of Curley’s wrath, mean the men want nothing to do with her. This forces her to live in a constant state of her greatest fear, being ignored. Interestingly, she displays her true colors at the moment when her fears are relieved. As she talks to Lennie in Chapter Five, she comes closest to having the love and belonging she craves, then faces a situation similar to her husband’s where her life is threatened and she must choose whether to flee or fight. She
I am not one to pick up hitchhikers, it’s just not safe, everyone knows that but for some
I was designated out of necessity. My older brother was sent to prison the year before she was diagnosed. My twin sister was married at the time with three small children and my younger brother was only 16 years old. Therefore, I tried to become everything that she needed. Helping her through her battle would prove to me that life is too short to not pursue my dreams.
When I was younger, my uncles to joke about the fact that I was americanized; that I didn’t know how life really was back in the motherland. I would just laugh and tell them to leave me alone. Then, I saw what they meant when we went to Africa in 2009.
