What makes me lose track of time , when people talk about about music or when people around me start talking about basketball. When people talk about basketball is grabs my attention because that's my favorite sport. Basketball has been my favorite sport since i been a young girl. Basketball is something that i admire with my heart . When people talk about music it attracts me because i am in love with music . Music takes my mind of a lot of stress and a lot of things that aggravate me . Basketball is something that i really love to do. When I want to learn more i go to basketball practice and i listen to the coach so i know more about it and i go online and learn about it . I usually listen to music when i'm doing my homework. So people dont think its a good idea but i listen to it to stay focused. When i go on the court and play basketball i really think about playing basketball and not thinking about how the rest of the day went . I try and focus on winning and not letting anything get in the way of my team winning. My favorite type of music is rap, when i listen to rap it keeps my hyped up but sometimes it keeps my mind on a settle line. When people around me start talking about it while i'm doing my work it takes my attention off my work to them. I know that when i usually do both it keeps me calm. I am so used to being hyped up that when i do listen to music of play basketball it hypes me up more . When i listen to music i like to dance , when i dance i stay to myself and leave everything and everyone around me alone and stay to myself. I hate the type of music that doesn't give me a good vibe , i need to have a good vibe when i listen to music or i wont stay focused , and i usually change songs about five times before i actually find the song i want to listen to . When i dance it feels good to my body , it keeps me calm as
“Come on guys,” I yelled. I heard the screech of the referee’s whistle. Rushing to the bench, I heard the referee call out “Timeout, Heat.” Everything was on the line and our team’s championship hopes, being foremost on our team’s minds, was all coach could scream about. “I’m not going to tell you how to play basketball,” he yelled out. “That’s your job. I’m just going to say that right now, to us, this is a championship game. If we win this, we move on to the championship. If not, at least let us fall valiantly.” That got the whole team riled up as we rushed back onto the court. The crowd, encouraging as always, yelled out their approval on the fact that we were giving it our all. With just sixteen seconds left in the game and our team down by four, something special had to happen or we were done for the season.
Basketball was a new experience to me a few years ago, but i never realized I was going to love it. When I was younger, I’ve always wanted to play the sport of basketball, and I got my opportunity to play when I was in fifth grade at Monte Vista Elementary.
Basketball, with a long history in the United States, is a great sport on several levels, played in high school, college, and even professionally. For years, basketball has intrigued thousands of people, including myself, to see sportsmanship, strategy, and endurance at its best and its most interesting. I love basketball because it not only shows how a game should be played- players drenched in sweat but all reaching towards one goal and working together as well as perfecting themselves- but it is also a game that inspires me to do my best in everything whether it be academic, physical, or mentally. Basketball is the model sport because it is a game of endurance, inspiration, and victory whether a team wins or not.
I am in love with the sport of basketball. The feeling of adrenaline I have before the start of a game, the satisfying sound of the swish of a buzzer shot, and the half-time coach-given-tension-filled talks work together to create an atmosphere unlike anything I have ever experienced. I have been playing basketball for as long as I can remember, and when high school finally came, everything intensified. My freshman year, I was placed on the varsity team. I looked forward to practices, tournaments, bus rides, and every inside joke and moment I would get to share with the girls on my team who, as an only child, became sisters to me.
This is about why i like the nba and why the phoenix suns are my favorite team in the NBA and how i got into basketball.
The sport of basketball is the sport I go to when I need to clear my mind. After a long stressful day of school, I go to my neighborhood court and I shoot basket after basket. I try to find time every day to play basketball. I want to make myself better. Whether it’s working on my ball handling skills, or just working on my three point jump shot, I practice all of my weaknesses. I have improved so much over the years it’s pretty hard to explain. Basketball has been there when I first moved to Kansas. I came to a new school and I had to find new friends. When those two things didn’t go so well, basketball was there when I needed it most. It got me through the first year of going to school in Kansas. I even found a team I could play with and
I was just swinging my bat, over and over again, with no thoughts in my head. The methodical movement of my bat and the sound of the breeze it makes, was calming to me. My mind was blank as I was just going through my on deck routine. But like always, a few thoughts slipped in. You are going to strike out again, for the third time, my mind told me, You are going to let the whole team down, and lose the game. The championship game. I battled the little devil me on my left shoulder, who was feeding my brain these awful thoughts, by repeating an encouraging phrase. You got this Ashley, you got this Ashley. Feeling better about stepping up to the plate, I look up, only to feel my entire body fill with dread. The catcher was just standing up a little
I cannot remember the day I first held it in my hands. The notion yielded to be genuine. Over time, the game of basketball converted into a textbook. It is a textbook that is thrown away by the irresponsible student but cherished by the resolved. It is not a textbook to be skimmed through or forgotten in a locker. It is a textbook where each lesson is invaluable and could be interpreted in various ways each time it is read. People who see it as just another commodity are ignorant towards the textbook but for me, I see every page as priceless paintings. To the capable mind, the textbook is not a collection of valuable paintings, it was a study guide to succeed in life.
I would like to think that I would consider myself an expert in a lot of areas. I like playing factual games like millionaire where I do exceptionally well. The one area that I believe that I am a “true” expert would be in the game of basketball. Basketball has been a big part of my life ever since I picked up a basketball at the age of 2. Through my life I have always loved basketball. I practiced basketball with a hoop in the back yard in many different weather conditions such as, snow, rain, cold and heat. I watched all sorts of videos on YouTube on how to improve my game and have watched countless hours of college and NBA games. While watching games I analyze on what teams are doing and what should be done. This could be whether a team
“C’mon Drew,” I urged, hoping to instill some confidence in our top scorer. “When you’re on top of your game, there is no way we can lose.” The clamor of basketballs bouncing off the freshly polished floor and the perpetual squeaking of sneakers blended into a euphonious rhythm which characterized most of the summer. We were practicing for our annual basketball tournament, this year held in Dallas, and the anticipation and excitement had risen to all-time highs as we were expected to defend our championship from last year. As co-captain of the team, it was my responsibility to ensure our teammates were focused at all times and to spearhead our success in the tournament.
I’ve always been the kid that liked basketball growing up. It amazed me how the people on television did all the different moves and shots so easily. Even though they made it seem easily, when I tried it I always failed. I realized these players put in countless hours in the gym and I put in none. One day I was watching television and Kobe Bryant had lost a game, and after the loss he went to the practice gym instead of showering. So that day I knew that I will never be as good as I want to be if I don’t put the work in.
Many people say basketball is just a sport. Many people see basketball as something on T.V. Many people don’t know what basketball is till they experience it first-hand. Basketball can show so much about a person. For me basketball is a way to show who I am and let me prove myself. That’s why I love basketball! It changes my life it makes me think about life.

Ever since I was born, there’s something about music that takes me away, makes me more focused on
There are so many possibilities and opportunities I plan to have in life and that I dream about. I look and think of my future through rhythm and beat.
