PERSONAL ADVOCACY SPEECH PLAN
Title: Your little ways make a big difference
Specific Speech Purpose: At the end of the speech, Comm 3 audience will have been convinced to help or to encourage, in their own ways, less privileged children to go to school.
Statement: We can help children appreciate the value of education.
INTRODUCTION
I. Attention Step: My parents are among those parents who tell their children that, “education is the most precious treasure I can give you.” Growing up, the value of education has really been instilled among the four of us and almost everything that we need for school is being provided. I saw my parents sacrifices to make sure that we go on with our studies conveniently. Perhaps these are some of the factors why education is so close to my heart and why, as early as now, I want to help or encourage children go to school. It really moves my heart whenever I see people walking miles just to go to school or working part-time job to sustain their education. I admire them for persevering despite the challenges that they face.
II. Clarification Step: This is still the reality that we are facing - that there are Filipino children who are confronted by many challenges that hinder them from going to school. Many of them, despite their perseverance, have already given up; some are still persevering; and some did not even have the chance to receive primary education. I am saying this because I believe that you too value education as much as I do. I also believe that, in one way or another, you want to do something for our less privileged brothers and sisters who want to go to school. And I urge you to start doing it now.

The beginning of my educational journey began at home. Unlike the most kids, my mother had decided to homeschool me for preschool; due to our family’s financial struggles that were very prevalent in my elementary years. Despite English being her second language, she taught me the basics of English and mathematic concepts. As a result, when I entered kindergarten, I was able recall this knowledge and quickly understood the concepts. By the first month, I was already ahead of my classmates. This was very special to me. My success sparked my interest and curiosity when it came to education.
Ever since I was a young child, my parents always told me to try my best in school, they always told me this for the reason that they never had the opportunity to have a good job because they never finished school. This event is shaping me to care a lot regarding my education. In addition to that, another event that has shaped me to become the person I am today is that since my parents don’t have good paying jobs they have to work hard to take care of me and my siblings this event has caused me to become a hard working person and to seize all opportunities to live a good life because I don’t want to struggle like my parents.
272) By allowing our parents/community members to have a voice in our program, we can actually see how much we are engaging them in our program. By listening to the parents, the community members, and assessing our program we can see what we are lacking in when it comes to their involvement. As I spoke in the previous paragraph about the parents being their child’s first teacher, our community also plays a big role in the education of our children. When children have the support of their community, it shows them that their community cares about them so the children will in turn want to care about and support their
From a young age, I was taught that education is paramount. Various members of my immediate and extended family work as educators. Many summers I have spent in my mother’s school helping her prepare her classroom, and I enjoy
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,” said Nelson Mandela.
There are children in the world who are fighting for their education and today I'm going to talk about one of them.
It’s our job also to be the resources that our students need. Opening up to our students will help them with the unjust education system, social, and inequality there is in this world, it’s a life skills every student's need. As a teacher I want to be able to help students who are struggling at home, communities, and in school of course. I want my students to beat the achievement gap that is towards them and pulling them down to succeed. Most parents don’t have a choice but to work two more jobs just to pay bills and put food on the table, it’s not their fault they aren’t part of their kids education road. Communities that these kids live in have low or lack the resources these kids need to succeed in their life or do well in school. That’s why I’m pursuing this road of not to just be any kind of teacher but to also be a parent to these kids that needs just love and support in their life. I’m looking forward to my journey to make a differences in my students
Hello, fellow students, teachers, staff, and family members from Rio Rancho Cyber Academy. I didn’t find out I was to give this speech until Wednesday morning at 9:30, and that’s probably a good thing because I may have tried to arrange not to be salutatorian if I’d had advance notice. Consequently, this speech is probably not what you would expect; and I’m sure half my class would be much more comfortable standing here in front of you I only want to make two points, and I’m sure you will appreciate it when I say they will be quick. First, I want to encourage my class, myself included, to believe in ourselves and strive to reach our goals. Second, I think we all want to thank those who were instrumental
School did not come easily to me as a child even after I learned how to speak and read English fluently. At one point, my third grade teacher suggested that my parents hold me back a year, but my parents decided against it because they believed that I could do better on my own. I did not immediately improve and still struggled a bit through middle school, but I started to work harder My parents’ support gave me my own desire to motivate others. I want be a source of encouragement for others in the learning community similar to how my parents are mine and provide alongside that my own unique perspective.
Nelson Mandela once proclaimed that, “education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to the change the world.” In truth, education impacts every individual in some way. Education helps people to develop necessary life skills as well as self worth, and helps individuals change their life situation.
See growing up in a large family like mines education was very important. Despite we didn’t have many to graduate from college put a lot of pressure on me. See my grandparents didn’t go to high school or college. So, they were real hard on their kids about go to school and graduate. So, made my parents hard on my brother and me about our education. My brother and me will be the first in our large family to graduate from college. My mom was real hard on me because she didn’t want me to go to in be like her. She had
Attaining an education, or simply learning, has always been a rather important component of my life. From an early age, I was captivated by the idea of knowledge; of discovering things I did not know existed; it slowly became my dream to learn as much as I possibly could. As I got older I also realized that a good education had a significantly high correlation with opportunities in respectable careers. I also began to understand that in addition to my hopes and dreams of getting an education, my parents also shared the same hopes and dreams for myself along with the hope that I would be able to establish a career for myself. It was truly evident as I continued to grow, with the guidance of my parents that I wished to dedicate my life to learning and to invest in an education.
Will Smith states “If you are not making someone else’s life better, then you’re wasting your time.” Time is one of life’s most significant assets and with it we are able to partake in adventures, accomplish goals, fill our lives with meaning and create stories to share with our families for generations to come. This time is used to study new concepts, get a degree or learn a new language. We live in a time where education is valuable, but comes at a price; for some more than others. We travel to foreign countries on our breaks and deem it “Vacation”, but fail to realize how ignorant we are to the issues these countries face. One being the price children must pay for education.
Attention Grabber: Everyone has someone that they look up to. For some it’s celebrities, parents, or tall friends.
