My goal is to become a preschool or kindergarten teacher. I first realized teaching was a career I wanted to pursue in junior high school. I had my first educational experience when I was elected the Health and Safety Officer for my 4-H group. This position entailed providing material on the related health issues and possible disease complications for the animal being raised. When presenting the material needed, I realized I needed to keep the group focused. This meant presenting the information not only in a lecture format but also in an interactive approach, one that allows for active and engaged learning. When realizing the group members learned from my presentation I felt very accomplished having met the goals for my position. Drawing on my 4-H experiences and much internal thought, I realized that being an educator at the early childhood level would be my career choice here I would be able to combine my love of children with my love of learning. …show more content…
I would provide a child-centered environment. I recognize the importance of teaching and understand that it is a great opportunity to be the person that will make an impression on a young life. I hope by providing a positive and safe learning environment I will have an impact on someone’s future and more importantly instill a love of learning. Furthermore, my reason for pursuing an Early Childhood Education is built on the understanding that young children crave stimulation and positive reinforcement. Bringing my philosophy as an early childhood education teacher to incorporate learning in a fun yet educative way. I would keep the interests of the child ahead of everything else; this is what I hope for all in all aspects of my career in early childhood
Goals Ever since I was a young girl I desired to be a teacher, I always played “school” with my little brother and I was the teacher every time. I worked very hard in high school to receive certifications that I needed to be a successful preschool teacher. While in high school I received a 90 clock-hour certificate for preschool teaching, and I jumped right into the career. While at my first day care teaching job, I went back to school to receive my 45 clock-hour certification for infants and toddlers.
I have chosen to go into this field because I want to be one of those early childhood teacher that get children ready for important part of life. Having little cousins to watch growing up as well my own children and see them grow in their early education has shown me that I want to be part of that. I love the thought of being the first person to get the children started with their education by helping them along the way with fun filled classroom activities and games.
Have you considered a career as an Early Childhood Educator? Many people have not felt they are qualified to hold such an important position. Others have heard their calling to work with children early on in their adult lives. Having a career as an Early Childhood Educator can not only be fullfilling, but also rewarding. It is important to understand the criterion that is considered a profession. In our text it states the definition of prefession as, “It is an occupation that serves the public welfare and that requires specialized educational training in some branch of learning or science” (Feeney, S., 2012, p.6).
Consider the range of positions included on the Early Childcare and Education Career Guide Web site. Looking only at the position titles and career areas (and not at the information provided on the links), explain two insights or conclusions that you can draw from this site about career possibilities within the early childhood field.
My future plans are to graduate from College of the Ouachitas with my Associate of Applied Science degree in early childhood education and then transfer to Henderson State Unversity to major in Human Services. My Early childhood education degree is my backup plan. I will always have something to fall on. No, I do not plan on teaching elementary school.
I’m introducing to my budget when I become a kindergarten teacher. They have a lot of money it a lot of money. A kindergarten Teacher have a lot of money it have $33,460.00. I want to help kids learn so they and have a career also. Kindergarten teacher. That’s my introduction of my career.
I decided to enter to my career because I think i´m good explained things to other people and my friends said me (when I help them with the homework or something of the school) that i´m good explaining things. And I always look for a career that can be use like a service for the people and I think be a teacher meets the requirements. Leaving it to the least but not less important my love for children, I think they are the most beautiful people on the world they´re so innocent captive me.
Unfortunately, many children endure the effects of tough family situations. While some are taken from their homes and placed in foster care others remain with their parents simply because the state prides itself in keeping families together although it may not be in the child’s best interest. As a result, these children grow up believing that they deserve to be treated poorly. They assume that the behavior of their parents is acceptable since family services, such as Children and Youth, allow the situation to remain as it was before they got involved. Due to experience and multiple visits from Children and Youth, I understand that they do what they can to help but their intentions often do not result in the desired outcome. There are children
“Why am I here?” In May, this past year, I was offered a Teaching position at our local Head Start. I was hired contingent on returning to school to obtain my Bachelor’s Degree in the field of my choice (Human Development), but related to Early Childhood Education. It has always been a personal goal of mine to teach a class of my own. Having a job already secured, returning to school seemed to be an added bonus in allowing me to further my career therefor has become my prime motivation.
An important category that matches my career interests connects with what elementary teachers do on a daily basis. As a young child, I was always a caring person, whether caring for my little brother or someone when they were hurt. I have always developed an interest for helping others. While in
There are some people in the world who seem to know what they want to do as soon as they are born. I grew up as a child without the determination to find out what I wanted to do when I grew up. My passion as a child was US history. I was awed by the stories of our ancestors who struggled to make the future that we now live in. My interest in history, however, did not stop the anxiety of not having a direction to head toward. The state I was in would be the base of a series of steps I would head up as I changed.
I grew up in a family full of nurses, many of my close and distant family work in the medical field, for instance, my mother herself is a Certified Nursing Assistant. I was raised around nursing and I knew that I always wanted to pursue a very similar career path.
When asking yourself why you chose the career path you have chosen it’s easy to say you did this because you “like it”. However, when it comes to the area of education that cannot be your only reason as to why you chose this pathway and a desire to work with children is not a valid reason either. I am willing to say, that I started on this path for that very reason. I spent my high school years babysitting the neighbor’s kids and spent my summers being a counselor at the local camp and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. This lead me to believe, that because I enjoyed working with children from toddlers to school age, that would be enough to get me through this career. I am delighted to say, that while participating in my education classes and experiencing what it is like to work in a Preschool classroom, my reasoning’s for why I am continue down this route has transformed.
Unlike other Chinese undergraduate students, I spent my undergraduate life at IUB in the USA, where I was given a top-notch education, offered more freedom to choose courses and more importantly, I was guided to have a clearer idea of my future career aspirations. What I am currently learning in my major of Human Development and Family Studies has a close association with my target major and lays a solid foundation for my future studies and researches in Early Childhood Education. The relevant courses are Parent-Child Relations, Human Development I-Concept Early Childhood, Human Development II: Middle Childhood through Adolescence, Sociology of Childhood, Survey of Practice of Youth and Families and so on. All those preparations aim to help me explore the unimaginable changes in people from infancy to adolescence to adulthood, thus providing me an upper understanding of the salient issues that impact parents and children throughout the life-span.
As a child, the number one question asked is “What do you want to be when you grow up?” A ludicrous question to ask a child who has no concept of the real world and real professions other than the ones that their parents have. Most children will answer with being a princess, a super hero; however, I would always say I wanted to work with kids. I thought I wanted to do so medically, but figured out Education was my calling instead. A notion that I was too blinded to see in the past, but so many others saw within me. Now that I am pursuing Education, Elementary Education to be exact, I would not have wanted it any other way. It is exciting taking all of the necessary courses that are preparing me to be a great teacher.
