I am the person who shows up to work early, immerses themselves with their projects, and dreads when it is time to leave their post to go home. This has been a defining quality embedded into me from over fifteen years of involvement with motorsports. “Races are won in the garage” is a common term used in racing to simplify the knowledge of getting out what you put in. When the dust settles the thing that matters most is if I tried my absolute hardest and, if this is true, I can walk with my head held high. It is my pleasure to apply for the V8 Engine Development and Calibration Engineer position posted on FCA’s career webpage. For my entire life, I have been dedicated to my passion for motorsports. This seventeen year obsession has given me
I posses a fondness for the sports basketball and track. I love how the adrenaline just pumps into my veins with a rush I can’t quite explain. It is this passion for sports that I also share with my passion for the medical field. Most sports need practice
I have been snowboarding since 2005, and since then I have been passionate about the sport. When i’m not snowboarding, I like to watch snowboarding; when i’m not watching snowboarding, i’m probably just adding things to my Burton shopping cart and wishing I was a pro so that I could afford them.
The Cummins diesel engine was manufactured in the year 1919 by its creator Clessie Cummins. The Cummins was put in a variety of vehicles and the most common are in the dodge ram 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 series rams. It is also put into more heavy-duty trucks such as Peterbilt semis. The reason people choose Cummins over Chevy’s Duramax or Ford’s Powerstroke is because Cummins’ are built to last longer meaning they can go more hours without maintenance. The Cummins diesel engines have several different designs, and a number of different models, and assembling one takes money, time, effort, and knowledge.
I am a highly professional, motivated, and experienced Chartered Mechanical/Systems Engineer (CPEng) and a qualified Project Manager (PM) from UNSW Canberra (ADFA) working with Naval Technical Bureau (NTB) from 2008 to current for Australian Department of Defence (DoD).
“I had never even heard of Dale Earnhardt until he crashed into eternity, but now here I am writing a column about him” (King, 64). This reaction, recorded by Florence King in National Review, seems to be a common one since Earnhardt’s death in the Daytona 500. Dale Earnhardt was a driver in the Winston Cup circuit for the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). Despite the fact that he is arguably the most popular NASCAR driver, many people did not know who he was until he died. It is sad to realize that sometimes it takes death to become recognized. However, Dale is not the only NASCAR driver who is becoming known from his death. In a span of nine months, Tony Roper, Adam Petty,
The intricacies that are involved in turning a regular car into a “Street Racer” are many; and racers pour their souls into these magnificent machines. After seeing “the Fast and the Furious” many people have or wanted to become involved in street racing. They do not realize that this is a sport that takes knowledge, hard work, and nerve. Many of these racers have spent their lives under a car, learning the trade and improving upon it. As I have learned, this is not just a hobby; it is a way of life.
Racing is always a thrill for me and for half of my family. It was always my uncle, dad, grandpa and grandma, and I that had a passion for watching or actually racing. My brother and my cousins and aunt didn 't really care for it. Before each race, I will have fear effect me. I always questioned everything while sitting and waiting to start. I would ask myself if there is enough gas in the car or is the tires good enough. I was always double checking before getting in and going out there. I constantly see cars flip over or crash and get caught on fire. It scares me but its a thrill. Racing on a dirt track has its benefits. Sliding and drifting on the track has helped me learn to actually know what to do for when I’m on an ice road
Racing was always there for Brian. “I raced motorcycles or any other vehicles such as snowmobiles, four-wheelers, and dirt bikes since my mother died”, responded Brian. How’d you ever get into racing I asked? Brian responded, “facing my fears was
Imagine a VEX Robotics Competition and I, as a middle schooler, finding my passion. Robotics quickly took over my life as I worked hard to carry my team to the VEX World Championships not once, but three times. I earned awards left and right. I often earned awards for the performance of our robot, design, and presenting maturely to the judges. I was passionate and talented. I had set my eyes on being an engineer and doing what I loved as I grew up.
NASCAR wasn’t always one of America’s favorite things to watch or a multimillion-dollar sport. It was actually inspired by criminal activity during the twentieth century. How racecars became part of American life goes back to the early days of prohibition and how gangsters avoided the law. During this time temperance organizations wanted to restrict or abolish the consumption of alcoholic beverages. By the early 20th century, women’s groups throughout the country viewed the sale and consumption of liquor was disrupting family life, and destroying marriages. The “Anti-Saloon League”, established in 1893, led a wave of protests in 1906 against “saloon” culture. The league had support from
On June 3, 2016, Engine 3 went to structure fire at West Elizabeth to back up the crews who were already there fighting a large fire.
NASCAR has seen great success with branding by differentiating the racing events from other racing series, especially with the overall race experience. Whether a fan attends the live venue, watches from the television, or listens through radio they are able to experience the exhilaration of the racing experience. Fans stand 75 million strong, and are the second highest in television ratings second only to the National Football League (Ferrell, Hartline, 2014). The sense of community within the NASCAR sport encourages a bond among fans and drivers. Driver loyalty is unrivaled, and the emotional attachment to the racing series is the foundation of the brand.
I have many passions in my life. Some are trucks, cars, atvs also known as four-wheelers, hunting, guns, building motors, and racing. I have been around all these things all my life and I will never get away from any of them. My father brought me into most these passions when I was very young and I have never been able to get away from
Sunday mornings, with the sun shining through your garage window, as sweat drips down your face and gets into your eyes. Grease on your hands, spending time with your’e car and what your making it become. That's what a car enthusiast fenes for. Spending time with your pops, problem solving, working hard together and bonding. Or maybe you're with some of your buddies who are also into cars. Teaming up too break nuts loose, or putting the car back together to witness the end result of what you all accomplished. It's all an art form, and to the average person it just sounds like hard work, and they're right it is. Therefore for us car guys, it's something much more than that.
So for years now, the car industry has been evolving. While it is getting bigger and bigger, it is also branching off to many other sub-industries. Among those industries, one of the most popular is the racing one. It has been evolving since it has started. And to say that it is very popular in this generation would be a huge understatement. Even while it is an industry of its own (Racing industry), it still has many different branches. For instance, when we talk about racing, we can have an endless discussion about how many different kinds there are. On the legal side of racing, we have organized activities such as NASCAR racing events, but if we want to talk about illegal racing ways, we can talk about street racing or drag racing on local streets. This however, will be discussed in the main part of this paper. So before getting into the meat of this paper – which is the driving question (“Why is racing important in the car industry?”) – We need to answer why talking about his is important to know about. So, why is this topic crucial to know about? Well for starters, racing has become one of the most popular activates that most teenage boys and professionals partake in. other than that, racing brings one of the biggest revenues economically to the table. Now this means better improvements in the car industry as a whole. While we are talking about improvements to the car industry, we can certainly talk about how sport and
