During my years at Marywood, I know that I will have many different goals, some which are short-term and others that are long-term. One long-term goal that I set for myself is to graduate from the speech pathology program in five years with my master’s degree. In order to accomplish this goal, I must establish other short-term goals along the way. This year my goal is to pass my first year of college with at least a 3.25 GPA at the end of the fall and spring semesters, which I must maintain for my major. I would also like to do this while being involved in other activities such as soccer and the Speech and Hearing Club. I will do this by putting time and effort into my studies as well as other activities between August 2015 and May 2016. …show more content…
At Marywood, excellence can be defined as the “highest level of achievement.” Even in high school, excellence in all areas was important to me. I generally set a high standard for myself in everything I do because I understand my capabilities and want to fulfill my potential. By nature, I am a perfectionist, so pressure to excel comes from within more so than outside influences. In college, my area of greatest focus will be academics. My goal is to graduate in five years and maintain a 3.25 GPA. Marywood encourages excellence in academics by providing rigorous classes and coursework in a variety of disciplines in order to earn a degree. I also want to achieve excellence in everything else that I do, such as soccer and the Speech and Hearing Club. The enjoyment and rewards of such activities are a direct result of the energy put forth. Excelling in areas other than academics is critical in order to be a more well-rounded …show more content…
A Marywood liberal arts education allows me to have “access to education that enables all to achieve their full potential.” The knowledge and experience that I will receive during five years at Marywood will empower me to become the best speech-language pathologist that I can be. My education will also allow me to empower others with whom I am working with in my field. By helping clients with their speech, I will empower them to be the best that they can be and have the confidence to do so. By majoring in speech pathology, I will also gain a new level of respect, another core value of Marywood University. The core value defines respect as “honoring the uniqueness and dignity of each human person.” As a speech-language pathologist, each client I work with will be unique, and I must be able to respect that and adapt to the situation of each individual. Marywood will allow me to do this by teaching me necessary skills and knowledge that I will need in the professional
My primary career goal is to study and work with artificial intelligence. Medical procedures, food distribution, and medical diagnoses could all be improved by incorporating it. Artificial intelligence is going to shape the future in groundbreaking ways, and I wish to become a part of it.
For my first goal, it is imperative that I obtain an 80% or higher in all my classes for at least one semester during my first two years at University of Maryland (UMD). Accomplishing this goal will guarantee my continuation of the Academic Achievement Program (AAP), and having a B or higher in every class will exempt me from falling below a 2.0. This is SMART goal because it states exactly what I want to achieve for all my classes in one semester. It is measurable and timely because I have given myself four chances to achieve one goal for only one semester. It is achievable if I take advantage of all of my resources, such as my professors, peers, tutors, and the writing center. I will utilize these
I plan on Graduating, and obtaining my high school diploma On June 2018, I plan on accomplishing my goals by by attending college. After High School I wish to attend Cal State San Bernardino or Cal State San Marcos and enter into their Athletics Program. To get accepted to these colleges I will maintain my grades and do whatever it takes to get into these colleges. Throughout my journey in High School I have taken numerous honors and Ap classes. I have also been in Extra-Curricular activities such as Cross-Country, Soccer and Track and Field. I have also been in the Performing Arts Department all throughout high school and have performed in numerous concerts for Choir. This October I will be taking the SAT so I have a better chance at being
When I think of my career goals, I ask myself what I want to accomplish in life. I know that I love helping patients and families, and I want to continue to do that. I always am changing my mind on what I want to do after my BSN. I don’t know when or if I will get my masters or continue to work at the bedside for a while. I love what I do and what I do for other people and families. Working in the critical care unit feels like home. I get to do what I love.
My third long term SMART goal is a combination of achieving this Masters of Science degree from Western Governors University before Spring 2017 and using what I have learned in my job, specifically in my new territory.
Four SMART Goals regarding my courses, and degree efforts that I would make is to have a final grade of an A for each course taken, finish my degree within two and a half years, make it Connecticut to walk across the stage for graduation, and obtain a master’s degree in Human Services. I feel like if I don’t push myself to succeed, no one else will. Aiming for the final course grade of an A is attainable if I put in the effort and dedication it takes to pass each course. For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to obtain a college degree. Now that I am older I feel as if I should push myself a little further and not only set out to obtain a degree, but to graduate Cum Laude at the least. That is my ultimate goal. Finishing my degree within two and a half
Overall, Marywood’s values parallel my goals. I want to be a well-rounded speech-language pathologist, I want to serve others, and I want to be a kind and welcoming person. Marywood is putting me on the exact track that I want to be on. When I leave here, I want to accomplish all of the goals I set for myself. For right now, my closest goal is to maintain a GPA of 3.25 or higher so in the near future I can complete my other
This semester at AUM I have identified three SMART goals. My first goal is to form better study habits and quit being such a heavy procrastinator. In order to be successful, I have to break my bad habits. The things I did in high school will not work in college. My second goal is to earn a 4.0 GPA this semester. I came to college to succeed. Since I am paying for my tuition it would be in my best interest to earn the highest GPA I can in order to have a better chance at receiving scholarships. My last goal is to maximize my potential by utilizing the different techniques I learned about my learning style. If I am able to this, I have been assured that I will learn more effectively. Hopefully by doing this I will actually retain the information
As people grow old, they start to reflect on their lives. They evaluate what good things they have done and what they have achieved. One can only hope that, throughout their life, they have succeeded to reach all of their goals and attain excellence. No one wants to reflect back on their life and see that it is full of regrets and “what ifs”. By striving for perfection, making the most out of their lives, and taking all opportunities given to them, they will have completed a successful and fulfilling life.
A long term educational goal for me was going back to school after 4 years and a second child. I kept putting it off for months and months .I was extremely intimidated due to the fact that I had two kids to support and; I would only be able to work part time. Finally I had to drive to greenwood to see the dermatologist and I said that would be the day I go to Kaplan. To make sure I reached my goal I started by cutting down my work hours and keeping in touch with my advisor. My goals were achieved after a month and I was proud it made me feel like I could achieve anything as long as I put my mind to it.
I appreciate what I have experience so far academically during my first online course. The tools that I have learned are things I will continue to apply in my journey at GCU. My academic goal is to maintain a 3.2 GPA or higher. My personal goal is to graduate with my teaching degree from GCU. For me to reach these goals is to stay focus, be motivated and turn all assignments in by due date. My plan is to graduate from my program of study
Our Primary Goal will affect the delivery structure for clinical services in the following ways:
I want to improve my current piano playing skills by advancing at least two levels and be confident in playing in front of a large audience.
As I continue my journey in my new chapter of life, I have set new goals and standards for college. My first goal is to achieve the standards for the Honor’s Program. To be in the Honor’s Program would be amazing; I am looking to achieve the challenges that the Honor’s Program have for me to face and I am looking at it for the benefits and having it on my diploma as an achievement I have completed. The second goal is to be the top student in my class with straight A’s, so I can be a Principle Scholar in college. The final goal for college is to have my graduation gown cover with cords with completion I have done in college. As I reach for the stars with my career I want to achieve everything possible. My ultimate goal is to be the director
One of my academic goals is to get the best education possible at Allan Hancock College before I transfer. I will accomplish this by always paying attention to all my teachers and do all my work and most importantly make school my number one priority. Another academic goal that I have is to transfer to Cal Poly or Long Beach and obtain my Master’s degree in education. I also want to graduate with honor and with a 3.5 GPA or above. I decided that I wanted to be a teacher because I like helping people out and also I enjoy working with kids. I selected these goals because my economic background is not the great, most of the money that my family makes goes to the rent and daily expenses. We live in a small apartment and we are a family of five; we don’t usually go out and eat at restaurants only in special occasions.
