Personal Statement: Playing Minecraft

I march to the beat of my own drum. I also am unconventional and I think that this is an attribute. I do not fall in line behind others and I like to think about things differently than other people. I am a take-charge person and in projects, I love to prioritize and plan out what needs to happen to make the completed product. I am also good at following orders. When someone tells me to do something, I do it in an orderly and timely fashion.

The vast digital world is full of complexities, down to every spec of data that integrates our knowledge and understanding with numbers and codes. It is astounding how even a single gaming application can be made up of thousands of codes and functions. And what’s even more perplexing is how life-like and detailed the characters are now graphically designed to appear. The simple fact of how advanced we have become that we are able to make an entire digital world simulate reality in itself is what truly intrigues me. I do not want to just watch the world transcend technological boundaries, I want to learn and make programs of my own. This very desire sparked my intellectual curiosity and helped unveil to me an entire new universe just waiting

My personality is defined as “Guardian” which fits my personality perfectly. Guardians are practical and down-to-earth, but they know how to have funs with their friends. They take their duties seriously, are hard workers and are dependable and trustworthy. They are most comfortable when life is structured (Keirsey, n.d.). I am a loyal friend who like to have fun, but follow the rules. My friends have said I am their “voice of reason”. I enjoy socializing with my close group of friends, but I am cautious when meeting new people. I enjoy watching sports, probably because there are defined sets of rule which allow for a fair turn for each team. I do not like when plans change suddenly. I am a planner and when things change I have to alter my plans.

Why should we accept you?: I've played with the staff members and players on Vexon for a while now almost for as long as I have been on Vexon. I have realized that this server has become more then just a place to play Factions and make friends its more like a family to me. I also noticed how much I care about this server, how much I care about the community and the staff, and having fun on here. The real reason I want to join you guys and become staff is because I want to help people as much as I can and I want to work with you guys and become apart of the family you guys created. I want to grow with this server and impact it in a positive way. I play nearly 4+ hours a day talking to players,welcoming new people , and being there for the staff talking with you guys and just having a good time. How long have you been playing on the server: I have been playing on the IJAH server around the time I bought Minecraft, it may have been a week after, but I started playing early on when I got the game.

I have made two other staff applications previous to this one. My last application was on April 20th, 2015.

How long have you been playing on the server? I have been playing on the server since May/June of 2013; over two years.

This server was the first server i ever went on when i was in 6th grade and now im a freshman, so about 4 years now.

I have only been playing on this server for around one year and 2 months?

How active are you on the server?: I'm not going to lie, I took a break from the server for about 2-3 months. Although, having this this application approved by you guys would really inspire me to become more active on the server.

How long have you been playing on the server?: I've been playing on the server since about late 2013-early 2014. I think my first visit was around November 2013 or January 2014.

Why do want to be staff?: First off, I really appreciate this opportunity! I also thank you for bringing me and my friends this totally awesome network of unique servers! I also want to thank The Staff for making me Trusted!

Minecraft is a game where the player uses their imagination to shape the world around them using the resources they find. In the world everything is shaped like a block or a cube, this includes the trees, the dirt, the water, the clouds, even the sun, everything. This simple game hasn’t even been released yet but has already sold over one million copies. Minecraft was created by one man, Markus “Notch” Persson, and this is his story.

When searching for unique technology or business processes, the first thought that came to mind was Minecraft. Obviously many people in America have played, or at least heard of Minecraft. Seeing as how this was around the time of 2011, the gaming industry was becoming huge. It was hard to release a successful and original game to the public. Games like Call of Duty and Halo were popular around this time, so to create a game that became an instant hit was extraordinary. But why exactly did Minecraft get so big in the first place, especially with all of the competition at the time?

Minecraft is a three dimensional environmental game that allows users to create an infinite amount of objects within the video game by using only rough grid like blocks to construct them. The game was first released for personal computers in the spring of 2009 and later for mobile devices in the summer of 2011. Since its release it has had more than 100 million copies sold in all platforms. This game is offered to all ages and genders, but their main focus is young boys mainly since boys particularly enjoy playing video games which include zombies, swords, and building things.
