The Honors College at ECU should admit an exceptional students such as myself because I consider my education to be the paramount element for my success in the near future. Although I am a student athlete I never forsake my education for my sport, track, because I know that my sport will only take me as far as a scholarship to ECU but won't be of much help after that. As I consider my education above my sport, I tutor my team mates in math because that's what they have a hard time understanding. Not only do I tutor but my teammates and I also volunteer around the community by raking leaves and shoveling snow during the fall and winter which helps us out if they would like to support the team with a donation. Before I started my first semester of college I made sure that my academic and career goals were set to avoid indecisiveness. One of my intellectual objectives has always been to be a part of the honors college. Deep in my heart I know I have what it takes to be in an organization of students that excel with integrity. Furthermore, the benefits that come along with being a student within the honors college can assist me with getting through my scholastic agenda which includes internships, scholarships and honorary mentions.

Last year, I received a commendable G.P.A of 4.4. This proves that I not only take difficult courses like Honors and Ap classes, but also contribute great amount of hard work and dedication to overcome those challenges and succeed. Other than my transcript, I received man recognition for my academic achievements. I attended many Honor Rolls and received Academic Letter Award every year. In addition, I also participated in competitions, like Junior Math Leagues, Science Fair, and NHD(National History Day), to test my knowledge in academics. I competed in the Science Fair and won first place in school division. In NHD, I have received first place in school, district, and state competition. By participating in these competition, it motivates me to strive higher. Lastly, I am a member of NAHS(National Art Honor Society), NSHS(National Spanish Honor Society), NMHS(National Math Honor Society), and Tri M Music Honor Society. I believe the program is searching for a student that exemplifies great academic achievement, strong leadership qualities, good work ethic, and strong dedication. These qualities ensure that the student is willing and able to complete the requirements of the honors program and go above and beyond them. Great academic achievement is an important factor for the program because it shows that the student has the ability to undertake the challenge of the program. I believe I have the ability to undertake this challenge because my grades have lead me to receive academic honors and offers. I was honored through my induction into the National Honors Society following after my junior year.

It is a great honor to be among the commendable students who are being considered for the National Honor Society. The National Honor Society is discernible for showing an interest in students with exemplary grades, great character, leadership, and service. Last year I was enrolled in a tenth grade honors language class, this year I am taking an advanced placement college course. I am enlisted in all honors classes and I strive to do the best that I can not only academically, but in all activities I participate in. I am a strenuous worker and have great character. Everything I try, I give all my effort, for example, in track I show good sportsmanship and cheer on my fellow athletes at every meet. I also show great leadership qualities.

As of grades and academic achievements, I’ve maintained a 3.96 grade point average all year long and expect to keep and/or raise my GPA by the time I graduate. I’ve proven to my teachers, family, and myself that I can do anything that I set my mind to, like maintaining a high GPA or being on high honor roll for three years. I have to admit this is something I have been looking forward to since the beginning career. The National Honors Society is a remarkable and sensational opportunity for myself to take. I know that I should be in the Honors Society to better my future in education. I believe that I should be in English 9 honors for freshman year. I think this because I have worked really hard to get where I am in school and think that I can only improve. Honors English is a challenge I would like to work for. This year most of my grades in ELA have been 3.5s although there are people that get better grades I am willing to improve and push to be in a high level class. I would like to push to the best of my abilities in high school and work hard and being in an honors class would let me be able to do that. The work load will not bother me because I believe it is worth it. In high school I would like to challenge myself in ways I never got to in middle school. To an extent, my grades test scores, and class ranking are accurate predictors of my potential success in the Honors College. I have had over a 4.0 my whole high school career and am tied for 1st in my class ranking. My test scores are also above average. Knowing this, I feel like I would have success in the Honors College. However, I feel like how well of a relationship you have with the professor also will help with my success. I worked well with the teachers at my high school and community college. I know that my grades, test scores, and class rank would indicate that I would have success in the Honors
