Personal Statement: Why I Leave My Last Position

I am in my 1st year at durham college. And I have a job. Its hard working and going to school at the same time. I wont quit my job because I need every dollar I ern just to stay in my program and cover living expenses. The people at sobeys are pretty good. They let me work shifts that don’t conflict with my classes. Still, Ive had to give up a lot more than I ever thought. My freinds and I used to play ball hockey or touch football every Sunday. Then wed go out for drinks after and just have fun talking and laughing and maybe watch a game on TV. Sundays are now my time to catch pu on schoolwork after I finish working my shift. I don’t know how im going to handle my internship placement when that comes up next year. I cant figure out how to

In the next two years I would like to have started to master the analyst role in the company as I have with the Material Handler position. Within five years I would like to have already started to learn the inner workings of the company so that I may aid with driving up profits while maintaining a customer assistance approach.

I came to SIATech to get my diploma. More specifically get a diploma so I can move onto college. And I’m glad I came to SIATech it taught me qualities I’ll need in the future to get to where I want to, most importantly it taught me commitment and responsibility. Getting up early in morning and having to take the bus and sprinter to go do some schoolwork I’ve already done or have some type of knowledge in just to finish something I was supposed to have done a year ago, definitely hit me with the realization how stupid it was not to take school seriously. Life is sort of like a race, though you’re only competing with yourself, it doesn’t mean you should go slower just because you can, you should work faster because you’re able to.

People always ask me “Why do you have a job if your parents get you anything you want?” That however is not the whole truth. Something that sets me apart from other people is that I managed to get a job at such a young age. On November 9, 2014 I was hired at Target. I had just turned sixteen at the time and a year later I have managed to stay and learn a lot throughout my experience of being there. My first year was difficult because I had to remember how to do everything correctly but as months passed, I learned the routine and even remember orders of regular customers. I still make minor mistakes, but i think it is acceptable because you learn from your mistakes. Being one of the youngest workers at my job is an advantage because my co workers help me with things I do not really know how to do well and give me advice as well.

There are a lot of people in the world that don’t care if they hate their job. Sometimes I’ve had the experience of walking to a store or anywhere, and that the employee has an attitude. Most workers tend to be in a bad mood because they hate their jobs. The only reason why they went in that direction was because of the earnings that job was going to give them I say to myself “ Why not work on a job I love and get paid to work on doing my passion” although I do believe that salary factor would somehow influence what career I decide to pursue. At the end of the day, I have to think about my future as a person. I’ll most likely grow and form a family with someone. If the students are improving and growing in their own way while still displaying that they are putting in hard work, that is how I know if I did my job. I believe that all students will learn and grow differently, but as long as they are making improvements, and are truly displaying that they are putting in the effort, that is how I know that I did an excellent job that school year.

For a summer job I would like to be the work at McDonalds. The reason Ichose to have a summer job here is because it’s close and is an easy job. But mostspecifically be a cashier there. There is no requirements except personality andhow motivated you are. These are the reasons why.A cashier would get a pay of $15 per hour which is pretty decent. Theclosest one is in 597 NW Pkwy St, Azle, TX 76020 according to google maps. Alsoyou could get price cuts on food there if I work there. There requirements don’tuse college or high school degrees. Is all based on personality and how hard theywork.The hours for me working there all depend on how long I want to workthere. There is no specified time I have to work there so I would come in at 9am-3pm.
