Vacations are always something that we look forward to for a long time but in the end, they never really reach our high expectations. You can plan years in advance and end up getting sick the week of your best vacation ever. I have not had the opportunity to go on many major vacations so far in my life but I think even if you have gone on one vacation you can relate to this. One of the problems with vacations is that you are spending a large part of that time with the same people. Family vacations can be the most stressful things even though vacations are meant to be the most relaxing this. Fighting with fellow family members happens early and often making it almost impossible to avoid. Sometimes we like to think of a vacation as a time where the family just automatically loves each other perfectly, but you fight. This causes everyone to be mad and that is the opposite of what you are expecting on a vacation. I can still remember, even though this was eight years ago, when my family went on a vacation in Colorado. We were looking forward to going on this trip for a long time and it was really our first family vacation. My expectations were so high, I was excited to see some of my cousins that used to live there and to explore some of the beautiful sites in Colorado Springs. I fortunately was able to see some cool things and hang out with my cousins, but I can still remember clearly the worst day of the vacation. We had spent a total of two weeks on this vacation and most
Traveling always force ladies to dwell on their monthly menstrual cycle. It at times becomes very challenging and exasperating if you know that your periods are coming close to your traveling dates and you cannot alter or reschedule your travel dates. Because of lengthy hours of journey, frenzied traveling schedule and restricted time at the disposal could cause tiredness, frustration, which might cause menstrual period to come early or even befall irregular bleeding.
My mom and dad have always told me to do what makes me happy, and worry less about the cost. Ever since I was ten years old, my family has decided to take a vacation every year right before school starts. We have been to Disney, on two Caribbean cruises, and Mexico twice. I realize now that it was one of the smartest decisions my parents could have made for us kids. Growing up and being able to see places such as Aruba, Florida, and Lake Houses in Wisconsin is something that I will always be grateful for; visiting these places has taught me that there is so much more that comes with vacationing besides having
Like any other red-blooded American college student, you see spring break as a glimmering reminder that the darkness of midterm stress and seasonal affective disorder will soon be washed away in beachy sunlight. And lucky for you, it’s finally here! You’ll be interested to know that in my not-too-distant college years I discovered you can judge a person pretty well by their choice of spring break destination. So join me now, readers, as I do just that: judge you.
Have you ever been on a vacation? Although I have not been on an enormous amount of vacations, but I have been on a few. Of the four to five vacations I have been on, the most favorable trip I have ever been on was when I was seven years old and my family went to Colorado. There, we explored the nearby towns, went dirt-biking, went on a train, and had some mishaps. We also stopped at some amazing places on the way there, including a huge museum in Kansas City.
A few minutes before we landed at the airport, I looked at the screen in front of me and it showed ‘33°C’. It had been a year since I last experienced that kind of heat and I couldn’t bear it last time, so I wondered how I would cope with the heat this time. As the plane began to slow and turn into terminal, I could hear people around me start to get there belongings together so that they could get off the plane first. People returned the magazines to the rack on the back of the chair in front of them and I turned off my iPod and put it back in my bag. When I took my headphones out, I felt like I was back in the real world now as I had been concentrating on listening to music for hours. It seemed like time was going slower and slower
When in Rome! I chose to pick a study abroad program because I want to explore the world. I think it is a perfect idea to get a chance to travel to another country and earn college credits. I chose Rome because that is where I think I will be more comfortable to visit while in college. It is full of culture, fashion, great cuisines, art, and many more! It has always been on my bucket list to go to Italy. It is the perfect opportunity to visit the country especially while I am in college. I remember watching Lizzie McGuire as a child and she went to Rome and impersonated an Italian pop star, Isabella. She met this handsome man who took her to tour the city. Everyone eventually realized he was using her to ruin Isabella, but it was still a happy ending for Lizzie McGuire. I wanted that happy ending it looked like so much fun running around Rome. The expenses are outstanding for the trip, but at least I have an agenda all laid out by the program.
Vacation is a period of recreation, one spent away from home. My family and I take our vacations in the summer when school ends because I do not like missing work that I will have to make up in school. I adore ending school in June and then contemplating where I am going to spend my summer vacation. Every year, my parents take my siblings and I to Disney World in Florida, but this year we decided to travel somewhere divergent. We all decided to stay in Florida and go to a captivating area called Port Saint Lucie. We stayed at a location called Club Med, which includes a resort and many activities for people of all ages to do like volleyball, tennis; you name it. Club Med was a magnificent experience for my family since we all appreciate outdoor
My favorite vacation, so far, is one I went on in September 2015 with my friends Alissa and Jaidah. We all share fandom interests. On the weekend of September 19, my brother went away to spend his birthday with my dad. My mom shook me awake and informed me I could bring two friends along to a room in the Dells that we would be occupying. Almost immediately I thought of the duo. I ran downstairs and texted both of them while packing a bag. They texted back not too long after, and I told them my mom and I would pick them up anywhere from 10-11 that Saturday morning. We picked up Alissa and she tried to direct us to Jaidah’s house, but she wasn’t thorough with her
Not convinced? Here’s a list of some of the good things a vacation may do for you.
While vacation may seem like a week away from home, traveling has so many positive aspects. Whether one travels for a few days, or for a year, it can open the eyes of many people and change their views. While on the road, people often discover who they really are and create relationships with people they will never forget. During this adventure, people learn new languages, and connect with the world in a new way. Traveling is beneficial to both a persons mental and physical health; it makes the mind more creative, and it's a great way to exercise .
Approximately 33% or a third of all families in the United States will go on a family vacation this year. Family vacations when you break it down is entirely for the parents. Parents and their children are stressed during the school year, whether it's providing for the family or homework. Family vacations may be stress reducing or enhancing depending on where you go, who you’re going with, and why you’re going.
“A penny saved is a penny earned.” “A job worth doing is worth doing right.” We apply both of these sayings to the working world all of the time. Why not apply them to our vacationing world as well? Like most people, I look forward to a vacation, but planning it can become overwhelming if you’re not prepared. Planning a vacation should be fun and exciting. Vacationing is not always a priority to many families due to economic distress, but as little as a few hundred dollars you can plan a weekend getaway that’s inexpensive but a lot of fun!
The final step will be packing for your trip. Make a list of things that you will need while on vacation. Be sure to pack all clothing and toiletries that you will need for a week. Also be sure to pack any medications that you will need for the length of your stay. As you pack, take the time to mark things off your list. Did you remember all of the kids’ swimsuits, floats, water toys and sunblock? Did you pack snacks for the ride to your destination and games for the kids to play while riding to keep them from getting bored?
After you choose your destination the next thing you must do is reserve your airfare and hotel. This may be tough because there are many websites and travel agents that you can go through. I have found that it is cheaper and easier to go through Expedia.com. You can book your hotel and flight all together and pay one low price. I have also found that flying with Southwest Airlines is very cheap and they have many one way stops all across the country and for a cheap hotel that is very nice I recommend the Extended Stay America.
Spending quality time with family is one of my favorite childhood memories, whether it was spending time outdoors, playing ping pong, or watching a movie. My most meaningful family memory came from our vacation to Colorado back in 2004; yes, 2004. Although I don’t remember all of the events that transpired, I’m able to recall most of the memorable events that took place. It was a cool, misty morning in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, and I could distinctly hear the unmistakable elk calls that echoed through the mountains. The breeze gently scraped my face as I got into the car to begin the first day of our family vacation in Colorado. I could hear the car tires gently humming on the road during this cool, foggy, Colorado morning. As I looked past the lanky pine trees, glistening drops of dew formed on the tall grass, dancing with the wind. As we moved further down the road, I could see the tip of the sun barely begin to peek over the steep, snowy mountain peaks; however, the sun was soon covered by the misty Colorado clouds. This was it: our family vacation!
