Many people always ask themselves if college is worth it and if it is then why. Sure there are positives and negatives of attending college, but which outcome will be better suited for you and your development. In any case, going to college is the right choice because it not only gives you a higher paying job, but also growth as a human being. The biggest plus to going to college is that it matures you into being an adult, so why skip out on an opportunity that will change your future! In the first place, college will pay off for itself once you graduate.

Going to college will set the basis for your career pathway in the future. High school students contemplate that college is not the right choice for them, but there are multiple benefits that come with a college degree. If students decide to attend college, they may considerate it a waste of time and stress. Unlike high school for some, college needs taken seriously. Attending college prepares and gives you knowledge on what to expect when you start the career. Those who attend college are more than likely to get a higher wage job then individuals who decided not to join.

In our society today, college is something that one is looked upon to do. Today our society is mostly looked at by our education level rather than who the person truly is. Now society is also looking at this generation for us to know that to succeed, one might set high goals for their self, which means going to college and pursing a degree. On the other hand, there are some people in this world that graduated from high school and have never been to college and are just happy with their life like it is. There are two ways to look at this topic. One is that college is worth the cost and another view is that college is not worth the cost at all. College is worth the cost. Yes, it can be expensive depending on where the high school graduated would like to attend to earn their degree, but education is something that is worth the cost and very valuable and something one will never lose.

College graduates tend to make more money than high school graduates. Although, this stat might not be for everyone it is for the majority of people. Jobs tend to pay higher if the person has a college degree than if one did not. To be successful people might have to spend money to make money. If someone spends thousands for college for 4 plus years, but in return they are making 56% more money than a high school graduate in the long run it will be worth it. They will have a lot of debt and student loans to pay, but once they pay it off they will start catching up to high school graduate in profit quickly. Many jobs would rather have someone with a college degree than one with just a high school diploma. The stats prove that people tend to make more later on than someone who goes straight into the workforce.

If you get a degree in college the unemployment rate is 4.5%, if you just get a diploma for high school the unemployment rate is 11.3% percent. Getting a degree in college boosts your chances of getting in the job position you want. Imagine a situation where you and someone else are applying for the same job. They want people who know how to think and solve problems.” A high school diploma is almost meaningless now, high school may have not prepared you for college, so why would you think it would prepare you for anything beyond that? Also, by attending college you acquire more knowledge and skills in many other fields which makes you more ideal for a job. In addition, a website had stated,”The unemployment rate for people with a college degree was 2.5%, for the ones who only had a highschool diploma was 7.7%.” As you can tell, people with only a highschool diploma are more likely to be unemployed than a college student. A college degree can almost assure you on never being unemployed, as people do want someone who knows what their doing and by going to college they’ll know you have been educated above high school level. To sum everything up, if you have a college degree you have a greater possibility in being hired for a job than someone who only has a highschool degree. However, several jobs do need a college degree in order to apply for them.
